Carne asada plate

Finally found a legit Mexican restaurant and it's on the north side of town. Huge portions and delicious food. Their margarita was one of the best I've had, they make their own mix. Best carne asada I've had since moving here!

I got a taco plate. Was the worst tacos I have ever had. The ground beef legit tasted like cat food. My drink ice had something stuck in it. Very disappointed.

It was alright. Nothing really memorable about an unseasoned burrito. Definitely needed more salt and SPICE

Receipt for 4 asada tacos

First of all they said it would be $13 dollars a plate for these 4 asada tacos. Then when we checked out they said it was EXTRA cost because the asada is at a "premium." Sure...I mean Usually I've seen premiums with STEAK at other shops. And to my surprise these $40 asada tacos had absolutely NO seasoning..no salt and barely any meat where the taco was folding over because it had barely any meat for the size of the tortillas. The only salsa they gave us was watered down table salsa for the chips. The rice and beans also had no flavor. Actually the only flavor came from the cheese on top of the BEANS. I've been to places like Mi Mexico and Sonoras carneceria and those places are actually good for the cost.

Went out for anniversary lunch which fell on Easter this year. Despite being a holiday there was very attentive staff and quick service. All the food is well done and affordable. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. :)

Al carbon tacos

On Friday night, we were looking for Mexican food, and this place was close and had good reviews, so we decided to try it. They sat us immediately and right away came out with chips and salsa. Keep in mind they will charge you $1.50 for more chips if you ask, they did not tell us this we found out when paying. They had a large drink menu and many different flavors for margaritas. I chose the Raspberry because it was a unique flavor you don't see often. It tasted amazing and had a creamy texture, but it was very weak. Maybe ask for a double if you want to feel it. For my entree, I got the Al carbon tacos because the picture made them look very good. The steak was very tender but didn't have a lot of flavor. I liked the corn tortillas a lot and the sauce they had on them. It's not spicey at all and not too much flavor. The refried beans and rice were good and plenty of them. The service was kind of slow, and they were not very busy. Our drinks went empty a lot and took a while to order food. Overall, this experience was just okay, and I dont think the taste or service matched the price of this place. But it was worth trying once.

This family run Mexican place is the closest to authentic I have ever found in Colorado Springs. The Carne Asada plate remains how I judge Mexican restaurants. Their lunch serving is 6 ounces of skirt steak, rice, beans, roasted jalapeño, and tortillas. With a little dollop of guacamole. Delicious. If you're looking for authentic Mexican Food, try this place. It's really good. I didn't have a margarita today, but I know from experience that their margaritas are super tasty, too.

If there were a 0 for a review this is what I would use it. My friend and I went for margaritas and late lunch yesterday. The manager is the owners brother so I doubt things will change. The female waitress never showed up for anything but delivering our food that the bus boy put in for us. She delivered our food and again we never saw her until she took our dishes. No customer service skills. No nothing. It's ridiculous w one table she had w us on the other side of the restaurant. There was no one else around us and the picture in this review was opposite of us I spoke to the manager and he was a condescending ass. He put his hands to his temples and said use your mind, we are busy w a lunch crowd, I'd you don't like it here you can go to another restaurant. What in the actual hell? The food is mediocre not as flavorful, but ya know I just wanted to support a local business. He is lucky my husband was not with us, it would not have been pretty. No need to be defensive, just apologize and make the customer feel heard. He was defensive and unprofessional. Again his brother owns it, so I'm sure nothing will happen.

We ordered our food to go, and it tasted authentic and delicious! It's nice to have a more authentic option than on the border.

Ok... I was raised in La Junta, Co. I grew up eating at a place called Mexico City Cafe. Totally a…read morefamily run place for like 40 hrs that I know of. My father was a good chef. I grew up eating tamales from Grandma Carrillo. The town grandma. The food here was different than I've ever had. It was good, hot and well presented. BUT, We asked about the green chili there and got a sample to try. My brother and I know our stuff about green chili. We've never had green chili like theirs. It wasn't green chili in our sense of the word. It was more like tons of sour cream with flavorings in it. No heat and (in my opinion) kind of blah. The Chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was very different as well. Same sort cream base. When my brother and I first asked about the chili, in all honesty the waitress had no clue what we meant by green chili. I'm thinking that their versions are related to different recipes from different parts of Mexico. If that makes sense. but.. don't get me wrong, it was very good. Nice place to eat.. but give me some more common Mexican food. There was not ONE TAMALE in the menu. No sopapillas. No vermicelli. No chili con carne. Of your looking to try a different type of Mexican food, go here because it is tasty. I can NOT say I had a bad meal..... it was just something different.
