    Golden Egg Yolk & Sauces

This was our first visit to Meat Time, and we would definitely come back! As soon as we walked in, the hostess greeted us warmly and showed us to our table. Since it was our first time, she took the time to explain the menu and gave us a chance to look everything over before ordering. We decided to go with the base AYCE option since my kids don't eat much. One thing I appreciated is that they offer discounted AYCE pricing for kids. For the base plan, children ages 5-8 are $12, while ages 9-12 are $24. Each person in the party can order two portions of meat to start, followed by one portion of meat per person for each additional round. The sides are unlimited. The meat quality was good, and the portions were generous. We ordered a variety of meats and sides, including: Pork Belly, Pork Jowl, Brisket, Garlic Marinated Kalbi, Beef Belly ($4), Otoro Kalbi ($4), Shiodare Kalbi ($4), Vegetables (onions, asparagus, and shiitake mushrooms), Appetizer Trio (bean sprouts, kimchi, and shiodare cucumbers), Wrapping Lettuce, Seaweed, Cold Tofu, and Mini Curry Rice. Our server recommended the Golden Egg Yolk Sauce and Green Onion Sauce since they were popular, and she also brought out the other sauces for us to try. Of all the sauces, my favorite was the Golden Egg Yolk Sauce, along with the jalapeño sauce, which paired especially well with the pork belly and pork jowl. Our server also knew we were celebrating my little one's birthday and kindly comped a dessert for him. It was such a sweet gesture and a wonderful way to end our meal! Overall, we had a great first experience at Meat Time. Between the good-quality meats, generous portions, kid-friendly pricing, and thoughtful service, we would definitely return.

Need to update my review once o finish eating . Fine meat Japanese BBQ We mae reservation for Saturday night 6:30 pm . It was only 2 tables when we arrived . By 7:39 pm there were about of people . The parking lot was small so I had a parking space when we went early .

The meat quality was really good! Everything was so tender and tasty. The servers were very attentive and nice the whole time. It was also super cute inside and it really added to the experience. I will definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu in the future! MEAT TIIIMME

Highly recommend! The quality of the meat and even the banchan is top tier! The staff was also super friendly and attentive. Even though it was a little busy, they were quick to check in with us and take each round of our orders. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

We made reservation before coming. Service was great. Very personal. Inside decor is mainly black color. Nothing fancy. But clean and simple. There's a jar of oil on each table for spraying on the grill. We got the premium menu. It's a little pricy. But all worth it. Quality meat. Good cut. Good grill. There are other à la cart option l. AYCE for 90 min. Wagyu option cost a few bucks for each plate. The American Wagyu was good enough for us. Will come back.

Meat Time has been on our go-to list for 2025. Saturday's reservation at 6:00 pm was it for us. They share a parking lot with other businesses & they don't have a distinguishable sign outside except for a chalkboard out front and a "open for business" sign in Japanese characters by the door. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating for such a deceptive structure. This is a great yakiniku place if you want to eat a lot of meat. GO for the AYCE Premium Plan ($68/person) as it is definitely worth it's value. Everyone (one table, one plan, BTW) starts with 2 meats and 2 sides and its 1 meat per person after that. My daughter and son-in-law got flavored sakes while I got the hot house sake. For meats we tried all the American Beef and US Wagyu selection and tried the Pork Belly once. The Yakishabu Kalbi (Wagyu Beef Belly), Otoro Kalbi and Yakishabu Brisket were our favorites and ordered these again and again. All the meats were very flavorful and tender that most of us settled with the starter dipping bowl (house sauce and salt & pepper). I, on the other hand was curious of the Golden Egg Yolk sauce. It was also good. The gang had plain rice and repeat orders of the tasty Wagyu Fried Rice, while I opted the Mini House Curry Rice. For sides, we pretty much tried most, from the Appetizer Trio (kimchi, shiodare cucumber & bean sprout), Papaya "Hari Hari Zuke", Chilled Eggplant, Negi Sauce Cold Tofu, and Korean Seaweed. There were no repeat side orders as we were engrossed with grilling the meats, but the eggplant and pickled papaya were accompaniment champions for the steaks. The team was was great from start to end. They kept checking on us often. We essentially never ran out of meats to grill until we said no more. Can't wait to go back.

We came to Meat Time on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to walk us through the menu. We decided to go with the à la carte option, and honestly, I wish we had chosen AYCE because the meat was that good. Every cut we ordered was fresh, well-marbled, juicy and full of flavor. One of my favorite parts was the egg yolk dip. It was rich, and creamy. Definitely a solid spot in Milpitas for BBQ lovers, and we'll absolutely be back.

Gimme a J...gimme a B + B + Q = JBBQ! This review is much needed as I have been here with lots of friends + my partner for soo many different occasions: birthday, destress after work days, work raise celebration, etc. (I only wish I had more photos!) I have to give a shout-out to the service first and foremost because the employees are respectful, helpful with recommending different meats and sides/ sauces. Shout out to employee Junio who is so lovely and fun to chit chat with when she comes to check in with us. The ambiance at meat time is what it sounds like.. people come here for a time to eat meat! Haha! I definitely am 100% positive if you come here it won't be your last. I can attest to this. My favorite food items to get here that's a MUST TRY: - Wakame Soup - Wagyu Fried Rice - Kimchi (duh!) - Bean Sprouts - Raw Scallops (eat them raw I dare you) - Pork Cheek - Pork Belly - Otoro Kalbi -Brisket - Beef Belly - Beef Tartare - Golden Yolk Egg sauce - Sapporo (perfect pairing to food) - and anything that they offer on their Special Menu of the day!

Really awesome food and you can tell the quality is there. The banchan was honestly so good that I had to ask if I could buy some separately to take home. Definitely coming back!

i came around 6:45 and was seated immediately. my favorite cuts were the thinly sliced beef tounge, pork jowl, and the teres major. however all the meats we had were such good quality. they have 2 ayce plans or you can order à la carte. my party and i chose the premium plan & it was so worth the price. definitely coming here again, love the vibes and food! service was awesome and knowledgeable about the menu.

Love to try all the Asian bbq places around the Bay Area and this is my new favorite. The meat cuts are never frozen and melt in your mouth. The side dish flavors are distinct and unique, as the owner executes with the concept of how he loves to eat. Two offerings of AYCE, imported, Japanese Wagyu, American Wagyu offerings and a la carte available. Amazing dipping sauces and sides. The location is conveniently located off a Main Street in a strip mall, but easy to miss since the parking lot barely has any light! I wish that many more people learn about this spot! Food is fabulous & servers are very attentive.

10/10 recommend Meat Time, the service was super attentive and welcoming!! The meat quality is great and paired with homemade sauces. The Golden Egg Yolk sauce is my favorite, and the Negi Green Onion sauce is delicious too. My two friends and I got the Premium AYCE plan and it was well worth the price; our favorites were the Hokkaido Scallops that are sashimi grade, the Otoro kalbi, and the Yakishabu Kalbi beef belly. Also loved the daily special Zabuton, it was so marbled and tender. Would definitely come back again!!

The food is a tad expensive for how much you get, but the quality and service are both great! We came during happy hour (after 9pm) and there weren't many people here even though it was a weekend. The surrounding area and parking lot is a tad run down and isolated. Favorite cuts: - Galbi - Cheek - Brisket (the first brisket I've ever had that wasn't dry!!) They offer AYCE and à la carte options. We all walked away full for less than the price of AYCE so it was definitely worth it for us to take our time, enjoy and not gorge. The service was great and the two ladies who served us were so incredibly sweet. Will definitely be back!

    Do you take Apple Pay?

Yes, we take Apple Pay as a payment option!

Does the whole table have to choose ayce or can one person select a la carte if they do not want to do ayce with the rest of the table?

Hi there! With our current AYCE policy, we are asking customers to choose the same AYCE option from the same party. Thank you!

Do you accept just one person?

Hi Levin, Yes, we do take 1 person. It’s more than welcomed to do a half order on our AYCE when one order portion is too big. Thank you!

Do they cook your food for you?

No with the exception of a couple of their specialty meats.

Will the hours change over christmas break?

Hi! We are closed on 12/25, 12/31, 1/1 and 1/2. We may change the closing time but we are open on other days!

Our last order time is same as business hour. We may close kitchen earlier on slower days. Please make a reservation or give us a call if you are planning later night visit. Thank you!

Skewers are decently priced in comparison to the other skewer locations in the city. Parking is readily available in the plaza. Happy hour is from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm everyday. Some dishes are on a discount. Ordering is mainly done via QR code. All skewers were covered in the same seasoning. Overall tasty but can be boring after a couple of skewers. There are some additional seasonings on each table to change things up a little. The mushroom skewers were plain, so the seasoning really stood out to be crunchier due to the salt. Fishball skewers were soft. Most of the flavor came from the seasoning itself. The lamb and beef skewers were great. The meat textures were different and difference in meat taste was noticeable. Staff was friendly and will try to converse in Mandarin first. They can also speak English, so everything went fine regardless. During my time here, most people came to pick up their takeout instead of eating in the store. Will be back to get my fix on skewers due to its appropriate pricing in comparison to other places.

When I got my drink, I asked the female bartender if she added lemon or lime. She gave me "the look" and said I did not ask for lemon or lime. Taken aback, I told her that I've never had a gin and tonic without lemon or lime. She then replied, "rude". I proceeded to apologize, and then she acquiesced and gave me a garnish. I thanked her and again apologized. She was having none of it. I was in a great mood because I still tipped her. However, it has been bugging me ever since July 25. Hence, my review. However, we are going to go to the one on South of Market--just in case I want a gin and tonic. I will be sure to ask for lime this time. :)

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!
