Came here for a birthday celebration for 4 people. Normally when we go for a Korean BBQ place, they serve us the meat and we do the grilling. Here is shocking, we're totally surprised at the end. So, we ordered the combo meat for $150 our server gave us the beautiful tray of meat which is very impressive! I'll tell you that. Then all of a sudden, our server start putting meat on the burner which we were surprised, we just said ok, this is very good service imagine normally we rather do the cooking as what we've expected going into a Korean BBQ place so we just ignored it and enjoyed our food. Came to the end and we've given the bills. It was about $248 that includes soup which we ended up ordering another one because the Birthday celebrant didn't know there's egg on the soup (they won't tell you that) so, no big deal we order no egg this time. Done for the night. I put $20 tip which I would say should be ok. The Manager came over and start complaining because the tip she said is not fair, they've done the cooking. Preparing our food so we should at least put in 18% which is $48.18. We just looked at each other then changed our tip. Just to go on and not ruin our dinner. Bottom line, it shouldn't be that we're obligated to give tips based on their preference. We didn't asked our server to cook the meat for us. They've decided to do it and now it's like we're obligated to give 18% tip which is the default. For people to come here, expect this when you have your server started cooking your ordered set of meat. I will never come back here. We've never been asked this way from other Korean BBQ place before.
Came here with a friend because I really wanted some Galbi Jjim and this place definitely did not disappoint. It's a decent sized restaurant in Milpitas, with a bunch of other restaurants, so while there's limited parking in front of the actual restaurant, there's a much larger parking lot a little bit away from it. Once you go inside, there's a lot of booths, but they can be a little tight if you're a bigger person (like myself) but they're not too bad otherwise. I ordered Galbi Jjim and my friend ordered bibimbap and both were very delicious and VERY large portions. The Galbi Jjim can easily feed 2-3 people, especially when you add in the very generous bonchon selection you get. It was very well done, ample meat, a good amount of veggies, and so on. The bibimbap also was an excellent sized portion, though I'd recommend the stone bowl, so it stays warm the whole time. They have a pretty good menu and not super expensive like other places in the area, so I'll definitely be back to check out the BBQ options!
I love jang su jang. It's my favorite nourishing solo meal spot. I love the spicy cold noodles and I love the dine in panchan (side dishes). I learned that you get 8 side dishes when dining in but only 4 side dishes if you do take out. I've also tried the acorn noodles which was really tasty. It was so much much for one person though so I would definitely recommend getting it for 2 people or packing some to go. We've been here for Korean bbq but may have ordered the wrong things. I just continuously get impressed by their side dishes and how nourishing it is with the added soup as well. Everything under $30, my noodle dish with panchan. Great solo dinner spot or with a friend! Lots of space inside.
The LA Galbi is amazing here and the portion size and taste is same as it was 7 years ago. I love this place. Server Yeonhee was amazing and funny and warm. The ambience is nice. I also had a woman with a bob give me extra kimchi daikons before i left. They were wonderful
Service was great, ladies were very helpful and friendly...not very busy on a weds night...I guess the slow business night contributed to food not tasting very fresh...japchae and mayo based banchan had slight spoiled taste...beef rib soup was under seasoned tho rib was tender, but overall bland...seafood pancake also under seasoned, even when dipped in sauce it didn't taste right...maybe the head chef went home early because the food served on this weds night was disappointing, will not be back
Jang Su Jang is a solid Korean spot in the bay! It feels very welcoming and comforting when you walk in. There's plenty of seating so we got seated right away in one of the booths. The inside is spacious and they have regular seating and seating for kbbq. We ordered a la carte and everything came out pretty quick. The banchan was delicious and the waitress kept refilling whenever needed. The rose tteokboki was a bit too creamy for me and not spicy enough but was still good. The bibimbap and tofu soup were flavorful and delicious. I would come back again whenever I'm craving some comforting Korean food!
Visited on a weekend lunch. We had a party of 7. Classic korean. It was half full. Luckily we had reservation just in case. We got the Bibimbap, Seafood Pancake, Dumpling Rice Cake Soup and Tofu Soup. Banchan was good. And everything came out pretty quick. The Tofu Soup had lots of tofu and beef in it. The Bibimbap satisfied my spicy craving. Dumplings in the soup were great too! Quantity isn't bad here. We will be back to try the barbecue next time Service was ok. And inside was clean! Came here yesterday night around 7pm for dinner because I was craving soup and wanted something to soothe my throat. We drove a bit out of the way because my boyfriend wanted a Korean restaurant that served Galbi jjim so we both could eat what we wanted. Upon arrival, it was packed inside but we were able to get seated immediately. For a Monday night, wow. We ended up ordering the Galbi jjim with cheese and I got the Galbi tang. We did want to try the steamed egg, but it seemed like too much food haha. The Galbi tang came out first and the broth was so hearty and flavorful. It helped soothe my throat a lot. The noodles inside are wider and the meat cuts were different than I'm used to at other restaurants. When the bowl came out, it reminded me of pho but Korean style. I'm glad I doubted the meat cuts because it exceeded my expectations. The meat ended up being SO tender. It wasn't dry either like some other places. The meat had a combination of meat and fat with each bite. My boyfriend throughly enjoyed the Galbi jjim. The portion here is so big which is why they charge so much. The sauce was packed with flavor and spice while the cheese helped balance out the dish well. Good assortment of nutritions with the meat and veggies in here. I would definitely come back here again when me and my boyfriend are both craving galbi jjim and galbi tang. I would like to try the steamed egg and seafood pancake next time too!

In short, a little pricey, but hearty Korean food with friendly service. L O C A T I O N Jang Su Jang is off of Calaveras Blvd. In the same plaza as Grocery Outlet and Paris Baguette. The parking siutation here is horrible especially during peak eating times. Since they're basically competing with a few other very popular restaurants and they all share the same parking area. I N S I D E There are bbq grilling stations with the exhaust right above the tables if you're going to to do that. But it's a spacious restaurant. Just be forewarned, you will smell like food. M E N U Menu hasn't changed in the years but of course the prices have. Darn inflation. The food quality seems to go up and down. Compared to the last time we had seafood pancake here, it seems like we're back on the up. I don't think you can go wrong here, everything is really good. The ban chan also the most diverse I've seen though I wish they had jap chae as a ban chan. The dumpling tofu soup was delicious especially on a cold day. Definitely cleans up your sinuses. The spicy pork was the right amount of spicy and I did appreciate that the pieces were minced as I have issues chewing these days. The LA Galbi was fine. I didn't concentrate on eating that as we were more focused on the more spicy items as our other family members don't particularly like spicy foods. S E R V I C E Service was good. Though we did end up having to ask about our Seafood pancake as we were eating everything else that was ordered and it was yet to come. I guess it takes a bit of time. I do wish they had more napkins on the table outside of the one they give you. I guess we could ask for more which we did and they did give it to us. I forgot that they used to give a yogurt drink at the end of meals and they don't do that any more. Bummer. O V E R A L L The prices are a bit shocking to be honest, but you get a lot of food. It was nice to eat inside though I did smell delicious in the end. Lots of variety and there's something for everyone. Definitely check them out!
Food could be more seasoned, but overall pretty good. The seating is pretty comfortable. Staff is nice. Oh, and the restrooms are pretty clean.
The food is great. Tried the stone pot and the seafood tofu for our lunch. Service is reasonably fast and accommodating. Good environment for various group sizes.
We were seated right away at 430pm before dinner rush-hour. After we ordered the food and the series of delightful banchans ( small plates of sides ) arrived. We ordered 1 appetizer and 2 entrees arrived in generous portions and plenty for 3 adults. Love the authentic Korean style sit-down grill center on tables which you can cook yourself or be served.
Absolutely love this Korean restaurant. The food and service are always amazing. I ate here 3 times already and the food never disappoints.

Nice korean restarant in Milpitas. Came here during lunch. The restaurant is quite large. It was not that busy during lunch time. This place also serve Korean bbq. There are plenty item on the menu. We ordered bimbimbap, tofu soup and galbi. They are yummy. The galbi is tender and flavorful. The tofu soup is yummy. Bimbimbap is also good. I love the banchsn too. They have plenty. Stopped by on Friday, 03/13/26 for the first time after my older sister's wedding rehearsal! We reserved a room with 2 tables full. Ordered 2 of the same dishes for each table. The appetizers were amazing and the overall quality of the dishes were chef's kiss! I am giving a 4/5 since they price is expensive, would be worth it if it was an AYCE KBBQ place. read more

Solid Korean restaurant with lots of options for everyone. I like that they cover all sorts of different types of Korean food. All the food was delicious and very authentic. They also gave lots of sides and provided refills when we asked. read more

This is a long overdue review! My mom fell in love with this place because she had been craving Korean food for a long time. We would order the LA Galbi, Seafood Pajeon, and Seafood Soon Tofu. We all start with a complimentary banchan like kimchi, radish, spinach, and more. LA Galbi- still sizzling with grilled perfection. Not too burnt, not undercooked. You can take the meat right off the bone. Seafood Pajeon- lots of seafood and chives, crispy outside and firm inside Seafood Soon Tofu comes with a raw egg you can crack on your own. It's medium spicy, soft tofu with clams and shrimp. It's great with complimentary rice. It's a bit pricey, yet this place is fancy, clean, and spacious. There's a grill table to grill your meat too. All the waitresses who served us were classy, elegant, and thoughtful, like at a five-star resort restaurant. I also love their K-pop playlist playing in the background. I almost busted out a dance move while holding a spoon, lol. read more

My friends and I visited this place for dinner and we had a great time as we enjoyed the great customer service as well as the delicious food! My part of the table ordered Bibimbap, Kimchi and Beef Soon Tofu, and Deoji Bulgogi. The Tofu Soup was delicious and flavorful and paired well with the tasty Bibimbap that we ordered as well. We accidentally ordered the Pork Bulgogi thinking it was Beef but I was surprised with how well the spiciness added to the flavor of the pork. There were lots of banchan as well! We had a fairly large party but the wonderful workers of this restaurant had no problem seating us as fast as possible as we got a table fairly quick. We were treated with care and respect and it ultimately made the experience even better for us! I will definitely come back to this place whenever I am back in Milpitas! read more

No complaints! Always a reliable spot for Korean food in the area. Some highlights about them? Good variety of menu items, incredible kimchi, and quick service! Great for groups too. Everything is easily shareable. Here's some of my favorite things to order: + Ddukguk (5/5): Simple and hearty! Flavorful broth and perfectly chewy ricecakes. They give a plentiful portion as well. My boyfriend likes getting the version with dumplings as well! They are HUGE. + Godeungoh Gui (5/5): If you love mackerel like I do, this is a must try! The fish is cooked perfectly and sliced in a way that's easier to eat. Very juicy and succulent. + Bossam (4/5): You can't go wrong! They give a lot of pork in this dish and many different ways to wrap it: radish, lettuce, etc. The pork itself is quite tender and sliced into bite-sized pieces. Pair it with the spicy radish kimchi salad that it comes with! Sooo good. read more

*LOCATION* This Korean restaurant is easily accessible right off the freeway, in a plaza with a few other Korean places. Parking kinda sucks on the Grocery Outlet side; the other side with O'Reilly's is a lil bit better. *WAIT TIME* There's not much wait nowadays but I remember when it used to be looong! I've visited multiple times in the last year or so and you can usually just walk straight in now. *FOOD* -Banchan: lots of good choices here compared to other places imo -Seafood & beef tofu soup: flavorful soup with lots of seafood, love that this places still gives out the free egg -LA Galbi: tender smokey meat, yumzzzz -Bibimbap with beef: not really a bad thing but we thought it was too many veggies LOL -Galbitang: clean tasting broth, glass noodles and rice cakes were good, meat was a little tough though *SERVICE* The aunties here are super nice and patient. They're fast to bring out your tea and refill banchan. The only downside is that they close kinda early and you can feel rushed to leave! *AMBIENCE* This place is always a reliable spot to get your Korean fix! Spacious, typical Korean vibez. Definitely a good back up if the line for Daeho is too long ;D read more
***3.5 stars*** I've been to Jang Su Jang many times throughout the years. Pretty standard Korean food. I wouldn't say it's in my list of go-to Korean restaurants, as I think there are other Korean restaurants I'd prefer, but it gets the job done if you have the craving. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was kind, efficient, and checked in frequently. Our side dishes were refilled quickly as well. During my most recent visit, my party of 5 shared 2 tofu soups, vegetable pancake, dolsot bibimbap, and japchae. They were all fairly good, but nothing stood out to me in particular. I enjoyed the vegetable pancake the most. My favorite side dish is the mung bean jelly. They also only had 2 flavors for soju: grapefruit and peach. Overall I think given the price point and most of the dishes being pretty typical, I would still come back if I needed a safe option but it wouldn't be in my top choices. read more

Great meal if you're looking to treat yourself to some yummy KBBQ! I was eyeballing all the other dishes people were eating and definitely will come back to try more. They were sold out of rice cakes which was a bummer, but I wouldn't have been able to finish it anyways. We ordered the unmarinated short rib and the brisket for BBQ. They said we needed to order a minimum of 2 items to do the BBQ, which was fine with us. On the side, we had japchae and purple rice. The marbling of the meat was gorgeous, as it should be at that price. It was great having the staff cook for us and the food was very filling. They even cooked the meat on the bone for us (which we took home for our doggies) I loved their radish kimchi! The japchae was also very good and flavorful. Overall, we didn't anticipate spending so much on our lunch, but were satisfied with the experience. Classic experience and the staff never let my water go below half full. Only some tables had the BBQ grill so we had to change seats after ordering, but we didn't mind. Amazing service, clean restaurant, would recommend if you're ready to spend! read more
I came here for my mom's birthday and we had a great time! We didn't wait long for a table and it was busy at the time! At most we waited for 30 minutes or less. Food(5/5): We ordered a lot of food and it was great! I think there was only one item that I wasn't a fan of but I loved everything else! The meat was tender and juicy. It came with sauce, but I preferred the shrimp one that they had. It was salty and it brought out the flavor of the meat! Service(5/5): Our server was so sweet and friendly! They made us feel very welcomed and they were very accommodating! They cooked the meat for us and even placed it on our plates! There is a ringer, so it's easier to call your server over rather than waving them down. Overall, a great experience that I would definitely enjoy going to again! read more

Combo A - got to choose 3 from the selections and I chose beef tongue, short steaks and brisket. My favorite was thick brisket and beef tongue. It includes the banchan, tofu soup and this fluffy scrambled puffy egg with it all! I also ordered seafood pancake for some sea flavor to the whole dining. Spot on meats and food overrall. Service is great and attentive. Yum! read more
