We've started ordering from here for some of the lunches at work. I've been able to try a few different things from here and I've only had 1 decent thing so far: the Pollo Asado Plate. It came with a pretty good amount of chicken and it was seasoned nicely. However, there were more than a few chewy pieces of chicken that I had to spit out. Not exactly professional when you're face to face with clients. The rice has been bland and overcooked every time and there is something wrong with their avocado because it turns 100% brown after a few hours. I've never had that happen before and it honestly freaks me out. I've gotten their fajitas before and they weren't enjoyable. There was way too much pico de gallo and barely any guacamole. They put the guac on top of the lettuce to give the illusion that there is more. I wasn't a fan of the tortillas either as they were stale and hard. read more

My faith In the breakfast burrito has been restored! This place has the perfect burrito and it is called Works burrito. To become a contestant in my BB world, you start with the meat trifecta of Ham, Sausage, and Bacon. While all from the pig, each brings their own flavor profile and can be considered a spice as well as a protein. Most places use a sliced deli meat but NOT HERE! They hand cut their little chunks from a whole ham and that elevates the ham so much. That ratio of correctly cooked scrambled eggs and potato were perfect and the telltale sound of the cook's metal spatulas hitting the griddle provided the ideal burrito stuffing concoction for a consistent bite through and through. The massive burrito was wrapped fantastic and held together throughout the experience. I come to Sorrento Valley at least once a year and walk from my hotel to the Sorrento food court for breakfast and lunches. I generally drizzle cholula for every bite but used their dark red hot sauce today and it hit the spot. This is right there with Burbank's Corner Cottage and can't recommend this place enough! read more

Pretty lackluster. I get especially frustrated when there are ingredients in my dish that are not listed. I can't not order stuff I don't know is included. Great example, I order a Surf and California Burrito. It says it's Shrimp, Chicken, and Steak, with Salsa and Rice... Nowhere does it list cheese, or guacamole... look at this shit show of a burrito. I've been to this area a few times mostly going to the M. Today I decided to go inside the food court area. There was a Korean place that was closed. Next was a Mexican food place so gave it a try. They had hard shell tacos so went with the 2 taco combo that came with rice and beans. The tacos were pretty big. The shell was very fresh and crunchy. They put a lot of meat (white meat chicken) inside, I mean a lot. The chicken was awesome, it had a lot of juice so much so that the shell was getting soggy so had to eat fast. The rice and beans were okay but kudos to the tacos. Yum. read more

I feel like Fiesta is overlooked and underrated just because it is located in a food court and looks kind of tacky, but they have some pretty decent Cali burritos. Came here for lunch one day to get their cali burrito and it came out quite fast! The cashier lady was also very nice and friendly, but also wanted to note that they have two cali burrito options on their menu and I'm still not sure what the difference is. Now I know that california burritos are not mexican food but at the same time who doesn't like cali burritos? Fiesta really knows how to do them well and they come loaded with super tender meat, melted cheese, guac, fries and everything else you could dream of for under $10. The meat here was some of the most tender meat I've eaten at Mexican restaurants and I was pretty impressed given the not so impressive rating of this place. Definitely give it a try if you're in the mood for cali burritos :) read more

Haven't been here since long before COVID and the full remodeling this food court went through. Have recently tried both the Cali burrito and the Surf n Cali burrito. The Cali burrito is fairly good but nothing special to me, however the Surf n Cali burrito on the other hand I think is excellent and has been my go-to the last 2-3 times. Tasty and perfectly cheesy. Fiesta Mexican Grille round 2: well, I gotta say, this visit was a significant improvement over my last visit. I ordered the same thing I ordered the last time (breakfast burrito w bacon) and THIS time the burrito came out perfectly. Not burnt, didn't skimp on the meat. I also chose a different salsa this time around, I think it was the salsa fresca. This one was nice and flavorful, much better than the verde salsa. It was a little spicier than I was expecting, but nothing I couldn't handle. The only disappointment this time around was the chips. Last time they were great, this time, a little on the stale side. I only ate a few before I gave up and threw them away, oh well. My much improved burrito gives me some hope that this place is able to serve good Mexican food. It's in a very convenient location for me, so I will likely be back in future. read more

I don't know where they are getting their meat from, but it's got to change if they want any repeat customers. Ordered the Surfin' California burrito - steak, shrimp, guac, cheese. The beef is INEDIBLE. Not just one or two pieces, nearly all of it cannot be chewed. It wasn't a cut you should serve humans, it was part of the cow (I hope!) that should be thrown away. Crunchy, sinewy, disgusting. The shrimp was obviously frozen and lacked any taste. Will not be going back. read more

Just when I thought I had reviewed all the Mexican eateries in Mira Mesa (haven't gotten to Miramar - yet), it came to my attention that I hadn't tried Fiesta Mexican Grille at the Sorrento Valley food court. That, plus I decided to try each of the Sorrento Valley eateries at least once. For the lone Mexican joint available to the Qualcomm folks, it's not too bad - the prices are reasonable (in fact, they're actually cheaper than some of the other Mexican places in the Mecca), there's free hot carrots with your order, and the food court plays '80s tunes. My California burrito, however, was passable at best. The carne asada was a bit overcooked, and the balance between the rest of the ingredients was off. That is, when I order a Cali burrito, I expect to taste equal amounts of carne asada, guac, sour cream, cheese, and fries in each bite; here, the guac and sour cream seemed to be concentrated in the middle of the burrito. Still, with the prices, there's enough here for me to keep coming back. Besides, it's not like they use fake guacamole or anything! read more

The food is expensive but good. The girl at the front is always super nice. My only issue was both cooks in the back did not have their face masked properly. What can I say about a Mexican restaurant that resides in a nondescript food court surrounded by nondescript corporate offices in nondescript Mira Mesa? Well surprisingly this place is good. You see I go at least every Friday because I work in one of those nondescript offices. We have a little shindig each Friday morning called Burrito Friday where we get a bunch of people together to go have breakfast burritos at Fiesta, and talk about redonkulous things like "Stuff White People Like." They are actually pretty good! For less than four bones you can get a tortilla stuffed with egg, cheese and either bacon, sausage or potato. All are equally tasty. Their fresh salsa bar has spicy salsa, hot and sour zanahorias (carrots) and roasted jalapenos...as much as you want to stuff in your burrito...or your pie hole. I haven't had lunch here yet, but I'm sure I will soon. read more

Great restaurant, not sure why its at 3 stars..given the area and the limited amount of food options (other than the food courts..) there's a couple of things to note about getting food in Sorrento Valley, during business hours..its expensive! Well, paying anywhere between $8-10 might not shock some but on a daily basis, yes it can get out of control. So this where SoCal's beloved taco shops come into play..and Fiesta rises to the challenge just fine. Their burritos are fairly priced, (alas the Sorrento Valley price gouge...er gauge) means you're going to pay about 15-20% more than you would at a regular taco shop . Fiesta's tames their prices and you'll find burritos in the $5-7 range, which is a deal given the area..anyhow, enough about price.. Food..Fiesta's is a great, fresh taco shop. Their hot sauce is great, hot and has a nice full robust flavor to it. Honestly, its the secret behind their success. They use fresh tortillas and i can recommend the carne asada, pollo asada, no problemo! My personal favorite is the mixed burrito, which is just stewed beef and beans (and was dropped from the menu..but you can still order it..!) Their rolled tacos are also good, so if you're extra hungry, go for it. Oh, and if you're in the area for breakfast, their steak and egg burrito is off the hook. Huge, full of meat and eggs, freshly wrapped up with a sprinkle of cheese. Unfortunately, they open at 7am (only one in the food court during this time) so if you're an early bird, no luck. Service, ok in a time crunch? Need to get in and out and score some food? Call your order in and they'll have it for you when you get there. Most of their meals are ready within 5 mins Lunch ninjas are welcome.. Anyhow, enjoy Fiesta's they've been here forever..and when I say forever, I mean at least 10+ years..so that means something right there..A taco shop with staying power, that means a lot. keep calm and burrito on! read more

The special of the day was a taco salad. Looks and tastes great! Guacamole, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, a little bit of chicken and beans all on top, with more chicken and lettuce in the middle. I noticed that there was a lot of beans at the very bottom as well. The crust was light and fluffy. I would order it again. read more

The Surfin California Burrito I had was very tasty and very large, with a reasonable price at about $8. But it was more expensive than some of their other burritos, so it didn't qualify for a lunch combination (which includes rice, beans and a 16-oz drink for about $2 more). So I just ordered a side of rice and a large drink. BIG MISTAKE. A SMALL container of rice added $2.75 to the tab, and a large drink was $2. That turned my $8 (fairly economical) lunch into a $13 (no longer economical) lunch. When I commented to the lady serving me that I felt $2.75 was very expensive for a side of rice, she replied, "All the restaurants here are expensive." So they get a 4-1/2 for their food, and a 1 for their price gouging and surly attitude. Study the menu carefully before ordering so that you don't have an unpleasant experience like I did! read more

I went to lunch today and decided to go for Mexican. I got my food in about 5-10 minutes and it was pretty quick considering the amount of people eating during lunch hour. The food was not good and most of the time, I am pretty satisfied with the food. I ordered a California burrito, had the meat, sour cream, guacamole and fries in the burrito. The fries tasted like old fries and the meat was not that good today which it normally is juicy. The fries didn't fulfill my burrito crave and guess is not the place to eat burritos but for carne asada fries it'd pretty good. read more

And having been raised in San Diego all my life, I need a fix every other day. Their california burrito is good. I wasn't a fan of their carne asada fries however. It was literally swimming is some sort of cheese/grease which became a sort of soup at the bottom of its container. It looked as if someone may have spilled a cup of water in my food. read more

Their California burrito is solid! This place is great for the 'Berto's feel in a strip mall food court. The staff are nice and the food is great. They have a salsa bar that is awesome as well, and their spicy carrots are the bomb. They open at 7:30 AM for breakfast, too so swing by early for some great Mexican food. Above- average fast food Mexican place in the Scranton Food Court in Sorrento Valley. They do a good job on food prep and the meal is tasty. I had their Chicken Quesadilla with a side of rice; which made for a nice lunch. I would definitely pick this place over any Rubios! It's also cool to have the option of having Mexican in this food court as it adds a nice variety. read more
