Dear Management, I am writing to bring a disappointing experience at the Jarochos Birria truck to your attention regarding an overpayment that occurred today, April 28th. My daughter and I visited your truck to take advantage of the $1.50 taco special and ordered 16 Al pastor tacos, totaling $24. When paying, I mistakenly handed the staff member--a woman in a red shirt--two $20 bills and a $5 bill, totaling $45. Although I intended to leave a small tip, I inadvertently left an extra $20 bill with your staff. When I returned shortly after to rectify the mistake and explained that I had provided three bills (two $20s and one $5), the staff member denied receiving the extra $20, claiming I had only provided $3 extra. Despite my clear recollection of the transaction, she refused to return the overpayment. As someone who enjoys supporting local food trucks and shares my dining experiences with a following of over 10,000 people, I am deeply saddened by this lack of honesty. I had hoped to remain a loyal customer, but this experience has unfortunately changed my perspective on your business. An actual hidden gem - found this truck behind Best Buy in the parking lot set up with lots of seating and canopies for shade! The Taco Tuesday deals are soo worth it at $1.50 per street taco (choice of al pastor, tripa, carnitas, and chicken) and generous with meat. But my fav are the crisp and juicy quesabirria tacos, which includes 4 tacos plus consome for $16.99. The cheesiness and flavor are bomb without being very salty! 4 birria tacos with consome is $13.99 but trust me, you want the gooey cheese. They even have a birria torta with fries that's a stuffed sandwich of the tender birria meat, which is super filling. The al pastor is glistening as it rotates on the spit with the pineapple and 100% my favorite of the street tacos. Pair it with a creamy cinnamony horchata to cool down on a hot day! I drive by this taco truck frequently so I've been meaning to catch it sometime. I finally caught it one of these days and I tried their mini $1.50 tacos which actually ended up being pretty good. The truck itself is located behind the Best Buy in the parking lot and it's tucked away so it's a bit hard to see from the freeway. I think they take credit card but I'm not sure because I paid in cash. The people working there were super friendly and gave me recommendations and so I ended up just taking one of the recommendations. read more

Best Birria period. Made to order fresh, so flavorful, amazing consommé, couldn't get any better! The truck is behind Best Buy in Mira Mesa every day except Mondays. Great service from a young man who takes your order at a table outside of the truck. He helps with questions (i.e. I asked him about Huarache). Service with a smile and courtesy to get everything ready whether you are taking out or dining in. First bite will blow your mind. Didn't know Birria could be at this level of deliciousness until discovering Jarocho's Birria! Prices are great and affordable. The Taco size is large with so much filling. Served hot (careful burning your mouth). I absolutely love seeing food trucks in Mira Mesa! This Birria truck offers more than just Birria tacos; they have hamburgers, nachos, burritos, and more. I tried the queso Birria tacos, and they were fantastic! They were so hot that they even burnt my lip, but I don't mind because I expect my food to be hot and fresh. It's Taco Tuesday, so I tried their fish tacos for $2 each, which were good, although I wish they were crispier and hotter. They have a sauce bar with mild green sauce and not-too-spicy red sauce. Worst place to get street tacos! I rarely write reviews nowadays but I feel this one was needed, so I ordered 2 chicken tacos and they freaking deep fried my tortilla!!! For tacos?!!? Like wth???!!! You don't fry a tortilla for a taco, it has to be warmed up only, plain, no oil, no lard. So I was fine by it (initially) I get places don't put up a notice "we deep fry our tortilla tacos" my fix is to usually just ask for simple warmed up tortillas (straight up) well guess what they did? They gave me freaking oily tortillas again??!!! After I specifically requested plain tortillas a no brainier, not only that they wanted to charge a dollar for the tortillas for the tacos they messed up! The last drop was when I started scooping my chicken out of the taco (to finally eat it because I was hungry, no tortilla) I discovered they mix their chicken with pork!!??? Like seriously what's wrong with you? What if I'm deadly allergic to pork? Honestly at that point I was so upset I just tossed my tacos in the trash, went somewhere instead. Service wasn't the best. The guy taking my order seemed to be annoyed that I was trying to make conversation and learn more about their menu and available items. Food was mediocre at best.
