Very Americanized Mexican cuisine. Not bad food by any means, but really unexceptional in every respect. Everything you would expect to see in a Mexican restaurant is on the menu, with no surprises and no individuality. You will find no mojarra frita, tripas, cabeza, or lengua (all available at other restaurants in our area) on this menu, just the usual suspects. The flavors were adequate, nothing more. Service was decent, nothing more. Prices are a little higher than the food merits - $35 for two people isn't ruinously expensive, but I left feeling that I really didn't get my money's worth. I had a hard time picking out something from the extensive menu. It all sounded great. Settled on the chicken burrito. It did not come with anything extra, and it did not need it. It was delicious and filling. My sister had the Mexican pizza appetizer, and said it was very good. Chips were good. Came with a bean dip option as others have mentioned, a nice touch. Service was good. We must have had 3 different Waiters. Oh, I also had a mango margarita, and it too, was excellent. Lunch today as I was in the area for medical appointment. Ordered an enchilada which came with sour cream & mashed avocado on top. Not a real tex/mex fan but I think the only difference between this and a burrito was this came with enchilada sauce. I usually prefer Arroz con pollo. Sorry I didn't order it. This is the real deal. I love Mexican food and consider myself an aficionado. Chips and salsa appetizer was good-both hot and mild varieties. I had carne asada from the lunch menu and it was outstanding. Steak was well seasoned, thin, and tender. Tortillas weren't made in house, but were good. Spanish rice flavorful without being overdone. Refried beans slightly sweet, just the way I like them. My 6 yo didn't care for the quesadilla, but she's a finicky 6 yo. Service was very good. Prices are very good. read more

We just moved to Spokane (from Cali) and have not yet found a decent Mexican Restaurant, until now. We ordered taquitos (which were more like flautas) and they were delicious! We also ordered the deep fried tacos and a gordo's burrito. I was happy that my taco was actually deep fried and not just a Taco Bell shell. The rice and beans are yummy and not greasy. The portions are big. We will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again and would recommend it to others. Oh, and the delivery guy was awesome! read more

It really isn't fair for me to review a Mexican restaurant in Spokane WA with the same guidelines I do use while dining in California. The service was nice, quick and efficient. The complimentary little dessert bites after the meal are thoughtful. When it comes to the actual dish I ordered, "Chile Verde", I will have to admit that I have friends of non-Hispanic decent that can probably throw together a more flavorful and authentic meal together. I actually do not put the cook/owners at fault here as I'm sure they are appeasing the masses with a more Americanized and tame menu. Over priced! Slow service even though I was one of the only people in the place. If the food had been even moderately good I would not be on yelp. Save your money, go to literally any other mexican food place. The taco on my combo plate was in a preformed shell, like the kind you buy at a grocery store!!! Are you kidding me??? This is by far one of Spokane's better Mexican restaurants. The staff is always friendly and helpful with lots of smiles (although it may be because some of them do not speak English that well and so they just smile at me). The margaritas are strong, so be careful, but very tasty. I haven't been too adventurous with the menu as I tend to order the same thing each time because it is so damned good (combination plate #21: 1 burrito and 1 enchilada both with shredded beef). But as I have been there with several friends and family members, from everything they have ordered most everything on the menu seems to be excellent. Never had a bad experience yet. I recommend 100% for when you are in the mood for some YUMMY Mexican! read more

Yes! A really great Mexican restaurant. Homemade mole and salsa. Just the right amount of spices, not overpowering. I had the polle con crema chipotle. Chicken and mushrooms combined in a light slightly spiced white sauce to die for. Chicken so tender it melted in your mouth. Service a little slow. This is our neighbor go to for Mexican. We order from here at least twice a month. Always great service!!! Food comes out very fast and is tasty!!! This is my favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant. My wife and I walk over here from where we live about every other week for the original Margarita and the Tacos Al Carbon. Let's be honest, there is a pretty narrow spectrum of standard Mexican food, but I assure you, you're on the N border of above average at Fiesta. The place's bright Latin color scheme combined with the parrot decor usually has me feeling comfortable and confident enough to break out my sophomore level Spanish. We're almost always able to be seated without a wait regardless of party size (party of 2 or 10, no problemo). I love the hot and fresh tortilla chips/salsa with the authentic bean dip to start things out (mmmm lard n beans). I like a cold Pacifico, or the Original Margarita. It's a mystery of physics how they fit 7 cocktails in one ice shaker. Food is delicious and fast and always comes with a hot plate. Prices are average, and bathrooms are bathrooms. The salsa provided with unimited chips was the most flavorful I have ever eaten at any restaurant. It had a fruit taste but not over powering and was a nice consistency almost like the consistency of pico de gallo and not watered down. I could have consumed an entire dish myself. They placed an entire pitcher of water on the table :). We were a thirsty and did not have to ask. Wish more restaurants would do that or pitchers when you ordered ice tea. I drink most of my fluids at meal time, especially on warm days or with spicey foods and it is nice to have a large quantity of liquid refreshment right there without having to ask. The chili relano was out of this world with lots of cheese and was very satisfying. The relano seemed really stuffed with cheese and was much larger a portion then many restaurants. My shredded beef enchilada was excellent and also a nice portion size. The rice that accompanied the meal was the right texture and fluffy. The refried beans were included and were okay as I am not such a great bean fan but have had better and also consumed worse. Refried bean texture is never really that pleasing to me but they taste fine. We were stuffed and felt like we needed a nap to recover. read more

This was very disappointing. MInd you, we ate vegetarian and the options were limited, but I have eaten vegetarian in many Mexican restaurants, and this was not very tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful, parking is easy, and I love the South Hill location. I just found that there was no flavor to speak of in the food. I do like some spice, and this feel short. This is my favorite Mexican place in Spokane!!! Now that I no longer live there, I make sure when ever I'm in town I come here. I love the chips and salsa and the bean dip is a great bonus!!! I always just get a beef and bean burrito. I was feeling adventurous at my last visit and tried a different burrito then normal- I can't remember what it was but it had guac, and onions, etc. on it. The service is fine, but the food was really bland. I had a chicken burrito with rice and beans and the burrito was just chicken which tasted like it came straight out of a can and poorly drained.. As for the rice it was instant... The beans tasted like peanut butter. Over all the food was horrible. If the restaurant actually used better Ingredients the food would be fine. As soon as we sat down, we had water and chips, salsa and beans at our table. The salsa refill took a little longer than I would have liked, but the food was brought out quickly. Our drinks also came fast. The food was good. The portion sizes were much larger than expected. I got two items off the "lighter side" menu and they were pretty much meals in themselves. Pretty okay food. Basically just like Casa de Oro or Azteca. Not super, not really authentic, but totally fine.

Fiesta Mexicana is my go-to place for a sit-down Mexican meal! The food is delicious and plentiful; I highly recommend the traditional tacos. The service is very fast (even with a full restaurant, the food is usually out in under 20 minutes) and the staff are more than happy to refill your drinks and tortilla chips. This place is very family-friendly and has enough seating for large groups. But beware that it will be packed on weekends and you may have to wait a bit (usually under 15 minutes). I must preface this review by saying that I'm from California and I'm not the greatest fan of Mexican food in the world. That said, I am a fan of authentic ethnic restaurants, and great food so it was with great excitement that we set off for Fiesta Mexicana. Unperturbed by the exterior, which resembled a dated, somewhat upmarket, camp version of Taco Bell, I ventured inside with my wife and her parents, where we were confronted by lots of cheap funny looking Mexican crap. Lots and lots of cheap funny looking Mexican crap, everywhere you cared to look. Let the smell of fresh ingredients emanating from the kitchen tell me I'm in Mexico, not this pitiful faux dollar store junk. Not to worry I thought, it's all about the food. We sat down, and were almost immediately presented with moist, sticky menus by a very disinterested looking Mexican woman in her early 20's. With every order placed she grew more and more disgruntled. One of our party even had the audacity to ask a question, which was shot down with a fierce look that would silence a room full of raucous children. She muddled something under her breath and we didn't dare ask her to repeat herself. I could make out entire fingerprints in the grime that discolored the dull, lifeless menu's which looked like they had been styled using one of Microsoft Publishers first incarnations. I was pretty sure I could make out what the previous owner of my menu ordered based on a line drawn by a human finger under one of the menu items in filth. I ordered the House Special, their signature dish! The dish that they would forever live or die by in my mind. What I was presented with beggared belief. Decayed grey chicken which looked and tasted like it spent longer in their freezer than it did alive, was tossed with canned vegetables in an unseasoned tomato sauce straight from another bloody can. What surprised me was there was no attempt to conceal just how terrible this meal was. So there I was in a shithole restaurant with a plate full of shit in front of me. For the first time ever in a restaurant I felt like asking, nay screaming "what the fuck am I supposed to do with this shit"? It wasn't edible, it was offensive. I traded meals with my wife who was feeling guilty about having recommended the restaurant (having heard good things froma a friend), and a little skeptical of the magnitude of my criticism. Until, she tried her first and only bite. Yup, her face said it all. Shit on a plate. The conversation turned to where we would all be stopping off for take out on the way home. There are worse restaurants in this world (Taste of India) but not many. What I was presented with was the worst plate of food I've encountered in my life. Shame on you Fiesta Mexicana. read more

This would be a 5 star rating if service was better. I feel like you get a menu and have 5 seconds to order, then they forget about you. The last three times I have eaten here, we had to walk up and ask for our check. Request drinks at least twice. With that said food is always HOT and fresh. Menu is huge... Atleast twenty combos u can choose from. Other than traditional plates. Salsa is also delicious. They always bring us mild salsa as well as the normal one, which is nice of them to accommodate me. Also the bean dip with the salsa is good touch. You can make a meal out if just chips and margaritas here and be happy! But for mole fans... Try the pollo mole, yes chicken and it's so good. My cousin and I went here for dinner, she told me it was a favorite of hers, and for the life of me, I cannot understand why. 5 minutes after arriving we had to hunt down a waitress in order to even be seated, then wait another 5 minutes to be brought chips and salsa and to order drinks. The drinks did come quickly, though my margarita could barely pass as lime flavored water. We placed our orders (I chose the Arroz con pollo ala creme) and the food did arrive quickly... Except they brought me some strange burrito covered in some strange green sauce. My cousin had finished her meal by the time my actual order came out! My waitress was very unattentive, I wasn't once offered a drink refill, and at the end of the meal they didn't even comp my bill, or apologize for the inconvenience! I really love the food from the restaurant, but this most recent delivery was terrible. after choosing our food the website informed me that they didn't deliver until 6pm. Totally fine, I'll wait for delicious food. So when our doorbell rang at 530 I was surprised. Upon opening our containers both tacos were soggy and unable to be eaten in the traditional taco fashion. All of the food was not even remotely hot. My 6 year old who complains about most everything being too hot requested his to be reheated. My Fajita Fundido burrito was missing the creamy jalapeno sauce and the monterey jack cheese that was partially melted on top seemed to be an unwrapped slice of weirdness. Husband's Bistek ala Mexicana was under seasoned and tasted like jalapenos in plain tomato sauce. Went there on a Sunday for take-out, service was poor and the margarita was from a pre-made mix and tasted like a tin can. The food was brought out on a paper plate in a brown bag and looked like something my cat would barf up and tasted like a frozen burrito I could have bought at the grocery store. Disgusting!
