Atmosphere: it is what you'd expect from a taco bar. It's a nice open space, good number of TVs if you want to watch the game. The bar area itself is fairly small. They also have a very large outdoor area that I look forward to trying out when it's warmer. Service: Our server was also the bartender and often we were waiting for some time. When he was at the table, he was great. Kind, attentive, and got what we needed. However, we waiting quite awhile after we were done for the check - he did apologize though and it was all good! Food: I got the street tacos (Al pastor & Carne Asada) and two Holy Moly tacos. All were tasty enough - I have tried some of the tacos in the past and they were dry and bland. These ones were a little better, not amazing. The holy moly tacos were really good, needed more citrus flavor but they gave me a lime wedge so it all worked out. I got rice and beans with them and they were tasty. The chips they gave us when we got there were not good. They were bland (no salt) and stale. They actually kind of tasted like corn flakes. Maybe it was a bad chip day? My husband got the ground beef crispy tacos and he said they were lacking in flavor. He was jealous of my plate (now he knows for next time). Out of the 20 Mexican Restaurants in Spokane that I have tried this is the best! We ate there this week and had chips and salsa on the table by the time we sat down. Be sure to request the hottest dip they have which there is no other like it. I got the Holy Taco, shrimp, and mahi mahi. It is very flavorful and fresh. They kept my water glass full and gave us more chips. The server checked in a few times to make sure all was good. Food was served fast along with the 15 other tables on a weekday lunch (popular). On top of all that I know they are involved with schools, community, and helping he less fortunate. I prefer the Northside location. Yum yum yumm!! They renovated inside and it looks fantastic! Its more open and lots of tables for indoor eating. They must have rehired all new cooks because the food taste amazing 100% improvement. The vegan tacos are delicious even with the soy protein. Quesadillas have lots of cheese, they aren't shy on the cheese. and the salsa is a completely different recipe i couldn't stop eating it with the chips. Stopped in to grab a bite to eat after my mom had eye surgery, and she deaf, so the best way to communicate with her is to write things down. The menu was hard for her to read, since it's so dark. The waiter wasn't happy that I had to write things down to see what she wanted to eat, he became inpatient and walked away. If he had waited a second, we would have ordered right away. I had to go find the waiter. The bartender took our order but didn't write it down. The bartender and waiter acted as if it was their first day on the job. As I was guiding my mom out of the restaurant, along Hamiliton (very busy no matter the time of day) so she wouldn't slip into traffic. I realized that we had left our doggie bag on the table. We sat for about 10 min before a waitress came by and brought chips and salsa saying our waitress would be by soon. Another 10 minutes and our waitress arrived to take our drink order. I almost finished a full glass of water before our drinks came back and food was ordered. Food was great but also took awhile to come out! I understand a busy evening but it was long. Bottom line our service was subpar. Our waitress spent the vast majority of time on the patio seating and the inside tables were secondary. Her partner apologized for the wait several times to neighboring tables and was much more attentive to her patrons. We didn't get out of there until almost 7:30pm seeing many other folks come and go. Just left after our second time here in two weeks and will not be returning anytime soon due to how awful our experience was today. Waiter gave us menus and had us choose where we'd like to sit, but then nobody came to even take our drink order until I asked who was going to be serving us (at that point it had been at least 20 mins). Apparently there was a miscommunication between servers as to who had our table; that's understandable, it happens. For the rest of our time there the service was terrible. We kept having to flag our waiter down for everything we needed because she'd never intentionally come to our table to see how we were doing or if we were ready to order anything. We finally just gave up trying, waited 35mins for her to get our check, paid and left without ordering anything other than appetizers. There were three other groups of two who had came after we did and left before us because there was such an immense lack of service for us. The most frustrating part? It wasn't even busy!!! First time back since they reopened, the food was great, but the service was not all that good, I sat at a table on the inside of the restaurant rather than on the patio, that was a mistake, my server was also the bartender, she spent more time behind the bar making drinks for the other servers, than on the floor, I was the only person eating inside, so for this my service was very slow and not good, I sat there wondering waiting for to come over and ask if I needed anything and wanted another beverage, she did after I was done eating. We eat here every couple of months. Six of us went in 7/2324. The service was very slow, and all our food and drinks came out at different times. Five of us were finished eating when the sixth person got their complete meal. Most of their meals are good-sized, but my taco salad was very small. I have loved Deleon's for years and I always get their chicken nachos. I'm not sure if they hired new chefs but recently they've started putting this queso sauce on them that makes them so much worse. I have requested the last three times I went that they leave it off because it's not listed as an ingredient on the menu and I really don't like it. I have been assured that they're not supposed to be made like that and they'll make sure it's off but all three times my nachos came with this cheese sauce. It changes the entire dish for the worse and I'm not sure why they keep putting it on when it isn't on the menu ESPECIALLY when I have asked for it without several times.
