First time at Dos Gordos 2pm. Monday . My husband and I walked in . Only 2 people were there .. dirty tables inside and out . Good hot sauce.. my husband had a chili relleno and an enchilada he said was pretty good. I had taquitos shredded beef meat was dry and chewy, my beans were cold but the refried beans were good . Wonderful casual dining with great service and delicious food. The host was proud of his food and rightfully so. Service: the whole staff here since it reopened are amazing! They make great suggestions, they are friendly, they are FUN, and super accommodating. Atmosphere: what you would expect from a Mexican place, but with a little more hip and a lot more fun (I think that's thanks to the staff ). Food: the food is pretty good! I wouldn't say it's outstanding or the best Mexican I have ever had, but it's still really good. The best part - the margaritas! Omg, yum! They are $13 and feel like they are never ending! Juicy, not chewy in the slightest, might be my go-to every time I go there. They have a full bar with high-quality tequilas, not just the cheap stuff processed too much. When getting to the restaurant the host seated the family that came in after us and when I mention "oh we have 3" to let him know we weren't with that party he just says "oh sir over there" and points to a dirty table. I had to wipe it down and thank goodness I bring sanitation wipes. Our server was nice so that was great. I did ask for gluten free options and they stated they would but I noticed the fish had batter. I asked the man coming and asking if people how their meal was if he could ask the cook if the fish was gluten free. He left and never came back then when I waved him down he said "oh sorry I forgot". Then said he asked the cook and they didn't know if it was gluten free since their fish is pre packaged so probably not. People with gluten intolerance or celiac should probably avoid this place. Their menu says they will accommodate but it seems like they don't even know what gluten free is. 1 stars because you had a kind server 1 star because the food was just ok. Not authentic. Definitley Americanized Mexican food. -1 star for dirty table -1 star for poor until service -1 for not knowing your menu and allergens. read more

When we first started eating at this place, the food was on larger plates, and more food. Now about 40% less. But, the main problem is the attitude... which we find common with Mexican food eateries... if you don't buy alcohol drinks, they are no longer happy to see you. The man that seems to run this place was very nice to us... very talkative... happy when we came in... pleasant to work with.. then, we came in to have a late lunch... and did not order a margarita!!!!!! Well, My Oh My, how could we be so unkind to skip a drink!!!!! He turned his back to us and never spoke another word to us the entire time we were there... Oh, and there were only a couple other people in the place... so, he wasn't busy at all... he just avoided us like the plague!
