I was very excited when La Piñata came to Post Falls because an old college haunt of mine had the same name. I was disappointed to find they were not connected, but I was not disappointed with the food and service we received. My family and I have been here many times. I just moved here from San Diego and honestly wasn't sure what to expect when it came to Mexican food in North Idaho. The chipotle sauce on my burrito was excellent and really surprised me with its flavor. While it didn't quite beat what I was used to in San Diego, I was shocked at the quality for this area. My vegetarian father ordered enchiladas and really enjoyed them as well, hearty, flavorful, and satisfying. The rice and beans were fresh, and the salsa had a nice kick. Truly the best Mexican we have had in both North Idaho and Spokane. We each had a different dish and all our dishes were delicious. First time we came in. The chorizo soup is amazing. Everything seemed fresh and was very good

I have been here a few times for lunch and have been pretty satisfied with my meals both my wife and I. I decided to try it for breakfast this morning and was unfortunately sadly disappointed. I ordered a three egg chorizo omelette, and it took nearly an hour for it to reach my table, and there were only two other parties in the restaurant. When it arrived, I observed that there was little to no chorizo in the omelette. When asking them about that, they told me it was because it was very expensive and from Spain. There was literally probably maybe a half of an ounce of chorizo sprinkled on top of the omelette none of it inside. And this was an $18 menu item. Need I say more? The only reason it's not a one star review is because the waitress did not charge me when I went up to pay. I did however, give her a cash tip because she did her job. read more

They brought us out chips with green salsa the first batch was excellent. Then offered us a second helping of chips that were freshly made and still warm. They were good too, but a little salty.(we still eat them.)) Then they brought out our food I had a dish with chicken in it (wonderful) My husband had a dish with steak in it He had plenty of food to take home Mine was just the right size It had green sauce on it It was very very very, very, very, very, very, very good tasting . I'm not happy that Dueling Irons shut down, but La Pinata is bringing some Mexican food that is lacking in this area. I'm not a fan of real hot food and La Pinata focuses on taste rather than trying to burn off the taste buds. The last few times I have been here, I latched on to the enchilada plate especial.
