The food and service are always great when we come. I love the carnitas in chili verdes.

50/50 success rate. The food has been good most trips, but sometimes leaves us wanting more flavor. Service is prompt and polite. Price is reasonable for serving sizes. Margaritas are well made. Restaurant has a general Mexican theme with festive decor. read more

I know what you're thinking - the curb appeal isn't amazing. You may be tempted to skip this place but beyond the doors this is a pretty decent place for Mexican food in Troutman! The staff is super attentive and the restaurant is decorated, neat and clean. We started with a cheese dip with chorizo which was delish. I ordered the Texas Fajitas and they were freshly made with good amounts of meat, chicken & shrimp. Husband had steak & shrimp which was good too. We never had to ask for a refill for our drinks - our friendly server just brought them. Why pay stupid prices for Mooresville Mex and be disappointed? Will def be back! read more

This was our first visit. My grandmother, 4 year old and myself went in for lunch. They weren't busy, we got sat right away. Everyone we encountered were all great, service as a whole was great! Food came out timely and delicious! We are new to the area and we will definitely be back!! read more

My friend and I stopped by around 11:30 am & both ordered the 3 tacos. I'm disabled and having a rough day so she brought a menu to the car. I didn't take forever looking at it because I basically just wanted a taco. The service was prompt but I don't think they were busy. We dove in to our food and the tacos looked strange...a bit anemic. Then I realized what it was. They had meat, lettuce and perhaps 3-4 strands of grated cheese...that's it. I was sitting there crying because I didn't have any sour cream and was so dumbfounded that it didn't dawn on me what else was missing until my friend said something. Where were the tomatoes? Where were the onions? I know that onions and sour cream aren't necessarily a part of an authentic Mexican taco but that's what I'm used to getting around here. And, I'm certainly used to getting more than lettuce and a few strands of cheese. And if not sour cream, how about salsa or guacamole...something! So, she goes back in to inquire and my phone dings...there was a charge of $4.75 that had just been put on my credit card. So, almost an additional $5.00 for some onions, tomatoes and sour cream! What! No extra charge for the shell! If I had gone back in, I would have walked back out empty handed minus the tacos and the EXTRAS! I would have trashed them right there in the restaurant whether I was reimbursed or not! The extras added some flavor but they still weren't good! The chicken was bland and the beef made me gag! Most of it ended up in the trash in the end. My friend said she had noticed extra ingredients listed to the R of the tacos on the menu but she thought it was just if you wanted extra amounts of certain ingredients. I haven't spoken with her since she ate so I don't know what she thought. And BTW I got up at 5:00 and hadn't eaten all day & by the time I ate it was at least 12:30 other than 1 bite of each just to sample. A minimum of 1 1/2 tacos were wasted...not edible. We've been putting off trying this place because we went about 3 or 4 years ago, and it was lousy. Pretty sure they have either new owner or mgmt since then so we gave it a try. Guacamole had tomatoes so took off a star off. Personal preference is no tomatoes in Guacamole. Otherwise fantastic food. I mentioned how good the margaritas were but needs a dash more tequila. He disappeared and in 15 seconds came back and dumped in a big shot of tequila. Nice touch. Customer Service is top notch. As usual with Hispanic joints we were in and out in 30 minutes, stuffed and happy. Will go back now without hesitation! read more

The place was clean and servers were nice and attentive but the chips were not fresh. They were chewy and tasted old. The salsa was good. All the proteins were very bland with no flavor. The chicken soft taco and beef soft taco just didn't taste like anything. The special dinner had a lot for the price but the flavor was not there at all. Tamal was very disappointing. We spent over $50 on lunch and left disappointed. read more
