Our server, Chelsea, was genuinely great from start to finish attentive without hovering, friendly…read morewithout feeling forced, and she made sure everything flowed smoothly the whole night. The atmosphere at Woody's is really what makes it stand out. On a Friday or Saturday night, it's the kind of place that just comes alive--good energy, people having a great time, and a vibe that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. If you're looking for a spot to unwind, have some fun, and be taken care of by a great staff, this is definitely a place to check out

SO to start off we went on a Saturday afternoon in which its a new place and wanted to check it…read moreout. The girl who checked us in was cool but then it wall went downhill from there We went to our pool table and started playing, now the pros..nice clean place, lots of TV's and tables and pretty spacious but the service was horrible The wait staff as you can imagine were women in their 20s which that type of place is expected, but with young ppl like that come arrogance, attitudes and laziness, we waited about 30 minutes to even be approached for drinks and the girl that came up to us seemed like she didn't want to be there but did it anyway b/c she was forced, but before that, all the waitresses were gathered at the front registers and completely ignoring us, how do I know, b/c ALL of them looked me straight in the eye and turned their heads or walked away from us, I had to wave my hands in the air and look like a fool to even be seen, then finally we got "Service" from "Tasia" The food was cold by the time we got it, the drinks were cool but the place is a bit overpriced but for that type of place, not surprised, throughout the visit our waitress (and others) walked to everyone else but us, so we felt ignored, I would pull the race card since I WAS the only brother in there but it was a mixed race crowd and wait staff so I can't play that card All in all we felt ignored not just by Tasia but the other wait staff the food was mediocre and overpriced and not that this review matters b/c unless you're an adult that expects decent service when you go to an establishment like this and not a 20 year old kid who pretty much doesn't care..this isn't the place for adults. Whiskey River has better service. But at least I checked it out and now that I have..this place makes me miss living in Katy.

I like a good dive bar, but I was surprised to find The Railyard on the edge of River Oaks. Even…read morethough it's in an affluent area, the bar is very laid back. I stopped in on a Friday evening for a night cap. The bar is a pretty decent size and they have their own parking lot. They have a large patio out front and there was plenty of seating indoors as well. It's a sports bar so there were a lot of TVs throughout. They also have arcade games including Skee Ball and Pop-A-Shot. The menu had beer, wine, and cider, but they do have a full bar. I didn't see any specialty cocktails on the menu so I just asked the bartender, Marc to make me a gin based cocktail. Marc came up with his version of a Corpse Reviver. It had a tart, yet fruity twist to it. I can't recall all of the ingredients he used, but I liked it. I also had a Gimlet which was really good. Marc informed me about The Railyard shot special. Any time a train rolls by, you can purchase a vodka based shot for $2. I'm not much of a shot person, but I went ahead and ordered a White Tea shot. It was really good. Everyone in the bar was friendly and I appreciated the diversity of the clientele. Super chill place, just as a dive should be.

Service could be improved by a person who has a personality and is not scared of a good time, which…read moreis what a bar is about, last time I checked.
