Pretty cool Irish pub located off Post Oak near Westheimer. I came here for a happy hour meeting and was surprised to see how packed it was at 4:30 pm on a weekday in June. Well, it turns out, there was a World Cup soccer match going on. The place nearly cleared out after the game was over. Anyhow, when the place was packed it was very loud. But once it cleared out, not bad. Upon arrival I learned the hard way that it's open seating. I stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes and then was told to find whatever open seat I could find. We mainly went for drinks but decided "what the heck" and ordered food. The buffalo wings were good but not great. Same with the Marinara pizza. I was impressed with the size and the crust was pretty good. I suggest adding jalapeños to it. We also ordered a sushi roll (who knew you could order that and they just get it from Sushi on Post Oak next door). That roll was pretty good but also very pricey. Overall, pretty good experience and I'll be back. Parking lot is also large with plenty of spaces which I appreciate. read more

Stopped by Ducky McShweeney's to catch a soccer game and ended up pretty impressed. The place has great vibes -- looks like a proper Irish pub but with a modern touch to it. Several different seating areas, so you can find your spot whether you're there for the game or just grabbing drinks with friends. Service was solid, and the drink selection is genuinely good. Happy hour runs 11 to 6, which is a nice window if you're planning ahead. Didn't get a chance to try the food this time, so can't speak to that, but I'd recommend this spot at least for drinks and good company. They've got darts too if you want something to do between matches. Will be back to actually try the menu. read more

Ever since Cesar has left. This bar definitely isn't the same. I just like to come because it's close to me. The espresso martini was nice but just doesn't have the same vibe. Definitely not as frequent as I used to be. The girl asked for my card I didn't say whether I was keeping it open or closing. She just assumed I was keeping a tab. If you know, you know... Duckey McShweeney's is so underrated! More people should know about this place because besides their drinks, they have great bar food. Trust me, GET THE WINGS!!! Original! Naked! I love getting the wings here. This pizza is also really good. If you want dip, get the queso with beef. Update: I left a message and an employee from the sushi place next door called back to acknowledge my voicemail. I explained the situation and requested a refund. I also informed the employee, that Cesar's conduct while on duty is unacceptable as my group witnessed him kissing an intoxicated customer on the couch. The restaurant employee informed me the manager from ducky's would return my call. When I spoke to the manager from the bar, she was apologetic for the service we received and stated that it doesn't align with the restaurant's expectations. I was refunded for the tip and shot. I am happy the issue was resolved in a timely manner. Cesar and the restaurant are violating their agreement to the customers. Cesar charged us twice for a shot when he said he would for one due to one spilling. He gave us poor service until we checked out because he knew would charge 20% tip for a party of five. He did not inform us the 20% tip would be included for a party of five on one check until the check arrived. As per the menu listed, a charge of 20% would be done for a party of 6+, and split check. Additionally, he charged me for a margarita that my colleague ALREADY PAID. He was rude, unresponsive and inconsiderate. Would not recommend. Cesar is scamming customers. If the auto tip, margarita, and shot are not taken off my credit card, I will be filing a dispute and reporting them to the state. read more

First, do NOT get held up on this being labeled an "Irish Bar". Don't let that deter you from this place. It is a regular sports bar with Irish flair/themes and a couple menu items. We stumbled upon this place and thought we'd try it out. It's a very friendly, fun, and welcoming place for anyone. You can feel this the moment you walk in. The drinks were unique, strong, but very good. I loved the TV's located all around with different sports/games on. I also loved the gambling & stocks ticker. The food was unique but incredibly delicious. There are plenty of option for anyone. The dartboards, shuffleboard, and couches in the back made for a fun atmosphere. The service was attentive, helpful, and respectful. I am not certain, but I am confident that the manager was walking around often. It was nice to see! Our company used this venue for our division meeting and after party and it's one of my favorite I've ever been to. They have a medium/large room called Toque next to the bar (SUPER easy to miss), and I actually liked that it was a bit more of an intimate space than some of the massive ones we often go to. The food was SO much better than corporate meeting food typically is (think chimichurri steak kabobs that aren't overcooked, delicious pan fried dumplings, bang-bang shrimp, along with the usual pizza, salad, veggies, etc)- it was impressive! We also didn't run out like we sometimes do and they even gave out to go boxes to us (the last place we went to refused and said it wasn't allowed!). The servers were quick and incredibly friendly as were the bartenders for the social event afterwards in the bar. All of the drinks were on the sweet side for my taste, but were way overall higher quality and there were way more options than most venues we go to, and it was a great place to watch the Astros opening game. The food is atrocious, even by sports bar standards. The pizza is of lowest quality, probably the cheapest that could be mass purchased, far far worse than any pizza from a grocery store. Only had one slice, same for the other two persons in my group. The burger was something that was frozen for ages until I happened to take a bite, not as awful as the pizza but still one of the worst I had in a sports bar. This was my first time visiting and it just happened to be a very busy night when UT/A&M were playing so I can't speak to how it is on a normal night. All I'll say is that on that night, that was not exactly my crowd and leave it at that. Also, that shuffleboard table really needs to be given a once over...I think someone had spilled a drink on it at some point so it's like a glue trap in the middle. Overall it's a nice bar in the Uptown Galleria area which surprisingly is lacking nice bars. I've been in the area for decades and I think there is one other pub in the area that's not a fancy restaurant. I mean this is kind of a nice place (and priced accordingly) too but you can have pizza and apparently the Sushi place next door is part of the same ownership and they even have a door between the places so it's casual upscale? I'm not sure how the sushi part works and whether you can order through the bar part but the staff was nice and would explain it to you better. read more

Your investigation is full of misleading statements and outright falsehoods. The bartender and her boyfriend took my girlfriend -- who was already clearly intoxicated -- into the women's restroom, where they stayed for over 30 minutes. Concerned for her safety, I checked the men's restroom for the bartender's boyfriend, but he wasn't there. That's when I realized all three of them were inside the women's restroom. I want to make it absolutely clear that I never entered -- I waited outside, anxious and alarmed. After witnessing that disturbing behavior, I chose to leave. Before doing so, I paid my portion of the bill -- $80 via Zelle -- for my three beers (each $6.50) and one fish & chips ($22). My girlfriend ordered fish tacos ($15) and an Espresso Martini ($17). However, the total bill came out to $237 -- which means she was served approximately 10 to 11 Espresso Martinis, despite already being visibly drunk. That level of overservice is not only reckless -- it's dangerous. This isn't just poor judgment; it's a serious violation of responsible alcohol service. And instead of offering help or accountability, the bartender and her boyfriend took my intoxicated girlfriend to their private residence, which is completely inappropriate and raises even more serious concerns. I followed up the next day to seek an explanation and was met with dismissive, dishonest, and nonsensical responses. This establishment showed no responsibility for what happened. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) and taking further action. Overserving a clearly intoxicated person to this degree, then removing her from the premises, is unacceptable and potentially criminal. Shame on this business for putting a vulnerable person at risk and then trying to cover it up. read more

First off, talk about an epic name for a bar. Downstairs, you'll find a long bar, plenty of seating, and bar games like shuffleboard. The event I attended took place upstairs. We had drinks and a buffet which included pizza, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, caprese skewers, and cookies. Classic bar fare for the most part. The food was meh. Lack of execution pretty much across the board. The type of place where you have a meal and you think to yourself, I should stick to drinks here. As a pub, there were a good amount of TVs which is what you're looking for. And the upstairs area is cool with a man cave vibe and a nice bar. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting this place for a Christmas party last year 24. And this place is definitely a hidden gem. As I walked into the place i was taken away by the beautiful Christmas decorations that was placed throughout the bar. The people there was very nice and it seems everyone was just hanging out having a good time. What's surprise me more is the hidden bar that is through the employee only doors. Walking to the hidden bar upstairs, I was amazed at how l beautiful the decorations were there also. Upstairs included a full bar. Seating area such as booths and cozy sofas . They also had a man cave, which hold chairs made for kings as TVs surround the walls all around. The food was delicious. There are couches situated throughout the area and you can even order sushi off the menu from the restaurant next door. I was in Houston for a few days, and Ducky McShweeney's Pub was right around the block from my hotel, so I gave it a shot. Houston is very different than NOLA, and this felt like a typical suburban sports pub, but I was actually surprised to see so many regulars coming in on this Monday night. As I sat and watched the crowd, it felt like a neighborhood bar, just in a shopping center. I got service very quickly after I sat at my table(counter), ordered a beer and looked over the menu. Another person brought me the beer - was very friendly, and I ordered the Kobe Burger, and asked for no truffle oil on the fries. I was really good, and so were the fries. I did have to go to the bar to get my second beer, but no big deal. I think if I had sat at a traditional table, I may have gotten more "table service", but this was more of a counter in the center of the restaurant. Anyhow, with relatively low expectations, I left having enjoyed a very good burger and a couple of local beers, and was very satisfied with everything. read more

I stepped into the bar kinda late around 11sh pm. I walked i, all seamed alrigh. Then I felt someone tapping my shoulder really hard. I got scared. The guy goes: let me see your id. I've no problem showing my id since I'm way above 21. Then he asks me to show my bag. I didn't resist. He tried to grab it. I told him he can't touch it. He threatened me I can't come in. I reasponded: even though you don't have legal right to search my bag, I oblige but you can't touch it. His response: you can't come in then. My response: I already told you: I don't mind you looking at it but you can't dig through it. Then he sees my glass case and goes: what's in it? My response: glasses! I'm way over 60! I wear glasses!
