I've been going to Fig Garden Dentistry for about a year and overall, my experience has been okay so far. Overall, I think this office has some strong qualities, especially with their hygiene team. The hygienists have really stood out in a positive way--they're informative, patient, and genuinely helpful. They've taken the time to show me how to properly floss and improve my overall dental care, which I really appreciate. You can tell they care about educating their patients and making them feel comfortable. That said, my experience with Dr. Kaur has been less positive. During my interactions with her, I've found her to come across as a bit condescending and not very friendly, which made those visits feel less comfortable than they could be. Considering most of my visits are with the hygiene team and not Dr. Kaur, I will be returning. read more

Dr. Jaskeerat Kaur has terrible bedside manner and made me very uncomfortable during my visit this morning. She was upset I pushed back my appointment by a few weeks. I let her know I work and that's why I have to reschedule sometimes. She then tells me "I work too. I work A LOT. WE ALL WORK". And scoffs in my face. She then looks in my mouth for about 2 seconds and then tells me I need a laser treatment on my gums and that I will not be getting a cleaning today. I was under the impression that my appointment today was for my 6 month cleaning. Keep in mind, I also just got lectured about getting regular cleanings (because I rescheduled my appt by a few weeks), but now you're saying I'm not getting one today because you are short staffed? Make that make sense. After the Dr was done being rude to me and left the room, I got told by the hygienist that I can wait until 10:30 or 11:00 to get my cleaning if I wanted to do that. My appointment was at 8:00 am. I cannot sit here and wait for 3 hours for my cleaning. Worst experience . Took my payment promptly before service was completely. Seated promptly. Dentist Tan walks into our room clueless, asking how the cleaning was. Mind you we have not had the cleaning done. He asks if she had X-rays done, no X-rays had been done at this point. He said he would look at the old ones. He proceeded to inform me they only do X-rays every year, which he was so certain we would be under the year mark that she wouldn't need them. Comes back saying yeah we will do X-rays today. Turns out her last X-rays were done in April 2025 SURPRISE SURPRISE, she's due. He throws out a comment about how bad I really wanted these X-rays done, I said I just want a THOROUGH exam. Mind you I said THOROUGH slightly incorrectly but don't worry Dentist Tan made sure to correct me. So kind of him. He told my daughter to use the pick floss between her braces, my daughter informed him she no longer has braces, proceeded to have her to smile to verify she didn't have any braces. We had her X-rays on the screen. So did he really look at her X-rays? As he was examining her teeth someone accidentally turned off the ceiling light to our room. Hygienist comes in, spends a total about 5 minutes, which I would say is a good thing. My daughter did say he was a bit rough. We leave a few minutes before 5, closing time. As we are leaving the parking lot my daughter reminds me they did not apply the fluoride. I paid for the fluoride when I checked in for my appointment. I called back at 4:58 phone was not answered. I will be calling back tomorrow for my refund as service was not received. This has been our 3rd visit, and even after reading the reviews I decided to give them a try. Our first visit was amazing, 2nd was average. 3rd visit will definitely be our last one, aside from picking up my refund which hopefully they can just mail or do electronically. read more

Great day at the Fig Garden Dental Group office today. Everyone is welcoming and they know your name. Pretty awesome all the men all women were so kind and friendly. Did i mention they know you once you become their patient. I have seen them all the two times. This was my third visit. Very professional courtesy and caring wonderful people. Well, I chipped my tooth and needed it fixed, especially since it is my front tooth, so I made an appointment two weeks ago for two days from now. So, I just got a call from Fig Garden Dental and, they cancelled the appointment I'd been waiting two weeks for. Apparently, rather than correct her behavior as outlined in the initial review, Dr Jazkeer decided she doesn't want to work on me any longer bc of the initial review where I stated I was afraid she was going to hurt me. So, rather than clear her name by doing right by me, she just cancelled and said, "don't come back". STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! DR JAZKEERAT IS UNHINGED AND WILL TURN ON YOU. I was a patient at Fig Garden Dental Group on West Shaw Ave. and started there just prior to the sale to a different dentist, Dr. Kaur. Prior to the sale, I saw what I perceived as great care potential. I had an old filling of decades and there were indications that it was time for a crown. I appreciated the concept of the same day crown. The first time we did "the same day crown" it took more hours than expected because after the first attempt it did not fit properly. That required a new one to be made and as such, I spent a good bit of a day there. The doctor indicated that I could come back instead of waiting, but I said that it was a same day crown and that was what I was paying for so I endured it. I had been feeling that I wasn't getting what I was looking for, so I went to a different dentist. This dentist of course did X-rays. The X-rays showed that my crown was not covering the tooth as it should...the X-rays were extremely clear and the flaw was obvious (this was slightly over a year since it had been done...twice)! This dentist said either the former dentist had to redo it or this one would, that decay would of course ensue. I notified Fig Garden and without hesitation they redid the crown (as they should have, although, I did feel that Dr. Kaur showed irritation as I told my wife later that day). I went back to my new dentist and she decided to check and showed me that as she said their first attempt at Fig Garden was better even though it was a failure! She said it would need to be done within a month. The X-rays were again very clear. I went back to Fig Garden with the new X-rays and the manager, who is very pleasant and professional said I would have what I paid for back in about 2 weeks and to let her know if it didn't come. The trouble is, now I have to have it done again and since insurance will not cover it within a 3 to 5 year span I will pay $555 more than I am getting back....and I get the pleasure of having that cut off again! If I had not felt that my care was not as good as I had expected, wanted, and paid for, I would be thinking all is well and in reality I have a date with a root canal in the future due to a poorly done crown. Sayings come to my mind, "trust and verify" and "let the buyer beware"! Just things to ponder as a patient! I am glad I checked!!!!! Best of luck with your choices! read more

For nearly 2 years I've been fighting the same billing error. I overpaid, received a refund, and have repeatedly sent proof of payment, yet nothing has been fixed. They would schedule my mom for an appointment and when she got there they told her she fid not have an appointment. This went on for about 1 year during COVID. I called they had a different excuse but basically I think they did not have a dentist. This year they have a different reason not to do dental work on her. Im looking for a different dentist. First and foremost, I wanted to say that Dr.Prakash is an excellent dentist. Unfortunately, he moved to a different city and no longer working at that location on Shaw. The office manager there is beyond incompetent. I was given a paper to sign on my initial visit, indicating an estimated total of $1368.00 for services. I paid that amount with my credit card that day. After I had a chance to review each item against the dental code, I noticed that it included a co-payment of $712 which was optional, and I decided not to accept that upgrade. They made it quite difficult for me to decline because I signed the estimate. However; my persistence eventually got back the overpayment of $712. After the refund, that office continued to send me due bills. I contacted their office manager several times to update their records to no avail. Today i received a letter from the collection agency for delinquent debt!!! Another issue I had with that office concerned teeth cleaning. My insurance covers 3 cleanings per year, but the hygienist at that office wanted to charge me $620 for a dental code D4999 which is-- "Unspecified periodontal procedure (D4999) These are most commonly submitted as bacterial decontamination, laser or irrigation. Delta Dental considers specialized techniques, such as those that use lasers or antibacterial medicaments, to be included in the fee for any SRP or surgical procedure. You can't charge a separate fee for the procedure to Delta Dental or the patient." I showed the hygienist and the office manager of the above statement from Delta Dental, but they insisted that it's a legitimate charge and if I refuse that treatment, the hygienist said he would not clean my teeth! I declined that service and changed my provider. My advice to all is to make sure you get an estimate with the dental codes so you can check against what is covered by your insurance company before you sign anything or make payment. read more

I'm pleased with Dr. Prakash's service. The 1- star rating is about the staff. This review is only concerning the FRONT DESK staff. My first visit to that office, the young lady, Alisa, at the front desk was on the phone. So I took a seat directly across from her and waited. After she hanged up the phone, she started with her computer work, did not even acknowledge me. i went over there to inform her that i had an appointment with Dr. Prakash; She apologized and said she didn't see me?! Really, I didn't know I was transparent. It's the most frustrating trying to talk to someone in that office. They will put you on hold, after 10 minutes the phone would just cut off. I tried calling 4 times today. After the second time waiting over 10 minute twice, I called again and Hector picked up the call and asked me to hold. I informed him that I had been on hold twice already, please take my phone number if I get cut off again. He took my number and i was cut off for the 3rd time; but no call back. Called again the 4th time, Alisa picked up the phone this time and asked me to hold!! Again, informed her to take my number and call back if i get cut off again! What a horrible service, don't call for a service, you would not get past holding music at least 20 min each call. They will fake you out by coming back to phone to tell you there is only 1 patient ahead of you. But actually may not event working because you hear efficiency talk back and forth hearing them "may be that is right, may be that is wrong" never clear and crisp with service or action. You will ever get a answer even though you are in emergency,, it will take not minutes but days to even get a question in. Of course, they will take less than a second to take your money, specially if you are vulnerable as an elderly or poor condition. read more

All the staff I came in contact with were kind, caring and professional. The dentist Dr Kaur was a breath of fresh air (after having so many bad experiances trying to find a good dentist.) The care here is competent...if you can get it. I have never seen the same dentist twice, as they keep leaving and shuffling around. That hadn't been a big problem until about two years ago. I have not been able to get in for two years because each time I have made an appointment, I received a call a few days before my appointment notifying me that the dentist with whom I had the appointment was no longer there. It happened again, and for the last time, today - in fact, I found out today that the dentist with whom I had made the appointment no longer worked there at the time that the office booked my appointment. Gross incompetence. Add to that the fact that you are guaranteed to have long hold times if you call (and the system will frequently hang up on you after you have been on hold for anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes), that if you are told the office staff will contact you to arrange a follow up they never do and you will have to chase them down, and that wait times for appointments are absurdly long (I have had more than one occasion where I showed up early for my appointment but did not meet with the dentist or hygienist until an hour after my appointment time). The hygienists, technicians, and dentists seem competent, but the organization and staff retention is awful. I STRONGLY recommend against this office. read more

I went in to get my teeth worked on and the dentist decided to drill on a tooth and add a filing. In 6 mos. the filing fell out and when I called she had left so I then had a another dentist. He was very fair. I had brought 69.00 for the exam and he said I needed a crown, to make things inexpensive he installed a 200.00 temporary crown until I could get insurance at my new job. I didn't have 200 so I was billed which was ok. I went in with insurance and the male who works at the counter told me at least 15 times I owed 200.00 I told him I get it but he continued to harass me so I ended up leaving because I just needed the crown and they wanted to charge my insurance thousands for cleaning and other stuff I didn't really need. I was skeptical about coming here since I was referred by my general dentist for wisdom teeth removal. There were tons of bad reviews, but after coming here they changed my mind. The receptionists were very sweet and answered all my questions regarding pre- & post-operation. So was Dr. Tabel, he and his crew did a wonderful job on my wisdom teeth and I have no pain (it's the second day since my surgery). The prices were reasonable and gave my mom a list of everything I needed post-op. All the reviews regarding wait times are probably just impatient people or they were probably busy. This was my son's assigned dentist for a workers' compensation claim. Even though it was a work-related claim, they charged him $90 out of pocket at the first visit which was just an exam to look at his chipped tooth (which they later refunded after I complained). This dental office is located between a sandwich shop and a nail salon in a strip mall. That should tell you right away that this place is janky. Also, the office staff is beyond rude. Like not even trying to be fake polite...just outright rude. Fortunately, our regular dentist, Dr. Michelle Asselin, accepted my son as a workers' comp patient and he will be having his work done by an outstanding dentist. I went in for a periodontal deep cleaning. To make a long story short, I was told that if I gave them $500.00 they would do a laser treatment to get rid of bacteria under my gums. I gave the $500.00. A week later I went to the periodontist, he told me I had lots of bacteria under my gums. I asked Fig Garden for my $500.00 back, was told no. I called my insurance company, was told Fig Garden should not have charged the $500.00. My insurance company said Fig Garden would refund my $500.00. I will wait and see, hope they do. read more

Soooooooo, I have now been here for nearing two hours, and nothing. Keep in mind my appointment was at 9am, and I arrived here at 8:45am. It is very frustrating when you schedule an appointment (over a month and a half out) to have to wait around while I could be doing something useful with my life like sleeping. I would not recommend this place for the fact that they do not respect their clients time. Update: I recently had to have three wisdom teeth removed... yea talk about fun.... my dentist re-referred me back to Fig Garden, and I was really impressed with how attentive they were this time around. I believe they hired more support staff to decrease having long wait times. They provided me with a breakdown of the procedure, how much it was cost, and what to expect. Fats forward, I have my teeth pulled last Friday and they were awesome. The procedure took about 45 minutes (or so I was told cause I was knocked out). I got a quote for my wisdom teeth extractions and the price was reasonable, until the actual day of the extraction. I was literally on the dentist chair waiting to start the procedure when Patricia DeCarlo the office manager walks in to tell me they qoauted me the wrong price. The price went up by $700! Thier excuse was that it was because the way my wisdom teeth had grown out.
