I wanted to wait until after getting my new crown placed before leaving my review. I have been here for 3 visits in the past 2 months; my initial cleaning and exam and a 2 visit crown placement. On my first visit they could not verify my insurance, so I was unable to get my teeth cleaned. I called my insurance and my insurance couldn't understand why the office was not able to verify it. All the information was listed on my insurance card that I handed them. Anyhow, it got straightened out. The staff is great! Martin is very professional and most importantly it was a nearly painless procedure. When he numbed me for my old crown removal, I barely felt the needle inserted. I get a lot of anxiety from the drill and will often suddenly feel like I can't swallow or choke, but my anxiety was definitely low with Dr. Nahigian. My crown is a front tooth and it's so beautiful and natural looking. It honestly looks like my own tooth! I am very pleased. I am glad to have found a new dentist office that I trust and with great results. read more

I found this dentist by cross referencing best rated dentists on Yelp with my insurance directory. I was purposefully leaving my last dentist, so I was willing to travel a fair distance for a decent place. Lucky for me, Dr. Nahigian ended up being just down the street from me. I called Thursday the 29th and was able to get an appointment that fit my schedule by Tuesday the 11th. They don't have any online booking or patient portals, but they answer their phone with a real human being, so you don't notice the lack of technology too much. My appointment was at 3pm, and I was walking out the door by 4:15. Considering this included new patient paperwork, x-rays, an exam, and a cleaning, this place is incredibly efficient. They were also following all covid protocols, with masks and face shields and gloves for everything. The dental assistant, Maribel, was so congenial and administered the least painful x-rays I've ever had. The doctor I saw was also Dr. Nahigian, but it was his son, Evan. It's a family practice and it seems that really makes a difference. Once he was done with the exam, he came back to clean my teeth. I've never had a dentist clean my teeth, they always have someone else do it. I think that really says something about how down to earth they are. Towards the end, Gina helped me with my future appointment and how much I would have to pay out of pocket since insurance doesn't cover everything. They even let me make a payment plan since dental work can be so expensive. I also suspect they must be better priced than my last dentist, because even with insurance it seemed you couldn't get out of there without paying at least $50 no matter what the appointment was for. With Dr. Nahigian, I paid nothing out of pocket for this visit, and my only other expense will be a new crown at $440 after insurance. I plan to have my spouse and child come here in the future as well since I was so happy with the experience. My child is nearly 14, but Dr. Nahigian said they'd even work with younger children as well. This dental experience definitely gets two thumbs up from me. read more

Due to my entrepreneurial lifestyle, I am constantly traveling throughout the United States. With that being said, I must get my teeth cleaned four times a year due to my extremely sensitive gums and need a "dead" tooth examined to make sure no infection is spreading. Dr. Nahigian is the only dentist I have found throughout my travels who has such a great attention to detail and is extremely attentive to take extra precautions with my very sensitive gums. I felt very comfortable in his office and he has always offered great advice for dealing with this "dead" tooth I have that I suffered from a fall many years ago. I wish there were more dentists or even doctors who cared this much about their patients. If only I could visit Fresno more often for business so I can see him as my regular dentist rather than once a year. I went to see Dr Nahigian to fix my broken lower partial. He agreed to fix it for $125. He told me that I could prevent future breaks by adding a realign to my upper and lower dentures/partial. For this additional service he charged me an additional $675. The realign was actually just added plastic material to the denture/partial. The lower partial had a thick layer of plastic added. So much so, that it did not fit my gum line. He forced so hard to install it that he snapped one of my lower canine teeth off. The same tooth that was holding and supporting my lowers. Since he snapped my tooth at the gum line, he had to dig out the root. In doing so, a domino affect started that caused the lower to fail. Furthermore, the lower partial that he "fixed" broke a second time. Dr Nahigian stated to me that to repair it would cost me an additional $3,500. What started as a simple repair cascaded to the point where I don't have a functioning lower partial Therefore, I am now without a lower set of teeth. I can't chew or have solid food. I want to be made "whole". The doctor refuses to do so. I have lost about 10 pounds. Please find another dentist. read more

PLEASE READ - I KNOW IT'S LONG BUT YOU NEED TO THINK TWICE ABOUT THIS GUY!! I can't even give this guy one star!! He has ROYALLY messed up my mouth! I went to him and got two fillings done by him, then shockingly I had to get a root canal on one of them. After I got the root canal(which I went to a different doctor to do) I had to go back to him to get the actually crown. When I went, he never explained to me what a crown entailed or what te would be doing. I was horrified and was crying after he was done. He grounded down my tooth to a little nub and molded it for the crown. I sat back in the room for about 10-15 minutes while the office staff was cleaning up since it was the end of the day. During that 10-15 minutes the mold started seeping out of the back of the mouth piece and started to go down my throat but I had no way of getting it or anyone to help me. Finally someone came in and took it out, then Dr Nahigian slapped a silver temporary crown in my mouth and said "Ok, you have to come back in 1 week to get your permanent crown." I left the office, got in my car and cried as I called my mom. I went back a week later to get the "permanent" crown put on and he even had the nerve to say that he didn't think my other tooth would need a root canal, but we'll see. At that point there was no way in hell that I was going back to that guy. A year after having this crown on, I started to have a lot of pain and throbbing and couldn't chew anything on my left side. I went and got it readjusted multiple times(not by him). I had a consultation(with a legitimate dentist) and they had informed me that I needed to get the crown replaced because I could have bone loss because the crown was sitting on my bone, I could also get an infection because there were gaps on both sides of the tooth that were not suppose to be there. Crowns are suppose to last for a long time and my insurance will only pay for a new one every 5 years, if it's needed. I made a 6 month check up after that visit in hopes of saving up some money for a new crown since it would cost me about 1,300 dollars. Over the next few months, my tooth grew exceedingly more painful and I couldn't take it anymore so I made an appointment to get it fixed. On August 24, 2012 I went to the dentist(not Dr Nahigian) to get my crown replaced. He warned me that he might have to adjust my bone depending on what the crown had done, and there was a possibility that I would need to have surgery. As the doctor removed the old crown, I had a rotten taste in my mouth and asked, "it's infected isn't it? I can taste it." He agreed and said that it's nothing that he can't fix. He took multiple pictures of what he had found after removing the old crown. The crown had a ledge going all the way around the top of it and that was sitting on my bone and tissue. The crown was so big that the tissue had space to grow up in between my nub of a tooth and the crown and that's what was causing the majority of the pain. After 2 1/2 hours, my tooth was finally fixed. He said I did have some bone loss because of where the crown was sitting and that there was hope that I won't need to have surgery but he couldn't 100% rule it out. He is submitting the pictures of what he found after taking off the old crown to my insurance to make him pay for the crown because of what HORRIBLE job he did!! From the time I called to make an appointment to walking out after the appointment was finished, I felt like the staff and Dr. Nahigian did their best to make sure I was taken care of.
