I got the mimosa flight with orange, cranberry, pineapple, and grapefruit, a fun way to try a few flavors instead of committing to one. For food I ordered the salmon Benedict on gluten free bread. As someone who's gluten free, it's rare to find a Benedict I can actually eat, so this was a nice surprise. Our server was attentive throughout the meal and checked in without being intrusive. This is my second time eating at this location with a huge gap of time in between. This location has a nice patio to enjoy the beautiful SD Bay weather. The service was good and we got everything we ordered. A party of 5, we decided to get a sweet sampler and this was the best idea for a restaurant to provide. You get to mix & match pancakes and french toast. We ordered the fig jam & ricotta french toast, apple fritter pancake, and a brioche french toast with banana foster. We all agreed the sweets were good! I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and a side salad (instead of fries) and it was just okay. The tomato bisque appeared to have blended broccoli in it (I don't think it was pesto), but it wasnt the best bisque I've had. The grilled cheese was fine. The side salad was weak. The greens were not fresh and wilted, and no one likes a salad with sliced red onions and tomatoes dressed very lightly with balsamic vinegarette. I was not impressed with my lunch as much as the sweets plate. I also ordered a hibiscus lemonade which was more sweet than tart. They have more vegan options than I've seen at most other places so maybe their breakfast options would be my choice next time. My friends had mixed feelings about their plate. Although Fig Tree has been on my list to try, I actually wasn't aware they had a location in Liberty Station and while I may consider trying their other location in the future, I will not be returning to this one. Tried it out today on a Sunday we were sat around 1:30 towards the tail end of the lunch rush so it was pretty chaotic. The entire time we noticed all the servers were quite slow and often congregating in groups to chat with each other, meanwhile it seemed that the busboys were the only ones putting in effort. Our waitress greeted us twice asking us what we wanted for drinks double, so I completely understand being exhausted from an all morning shift, however all the waiting staff seemed low battery so no clue if they're understaffed and these are all just Summer jobs or what but the only energy in that dining room was ONLY coming from the busboys. Especially since we had to wait quite a while to even be greeted by our waitress after being sat and then even more time for her to come back to then "welcome" us again as if she forgot she had already spoken to us. Very disappointed that the shakshuka only comes with 3 mini pita slices (especially bc I spotted an image posted on here of the same order in June with double the amount of pita). I asked our waitress for more bread, which she DID end up adding to our bill and then NEVER delivering it--also pretty peeved she didn't mention it would be an extra cost when I asked. Flavor of the food is all there, just really wish the atmosphere and energy of the servers would match it--definitely spoiled our experience for sure having a server who did not provide us a fair amount of attention and an extra unnecessary $3 charge for the additional bread we never received. I wish that the bagel was toasted, and if they had gone a little heavier on the cheese, other than that, I think the salmon was very fresh. The side salad was delicious. I recently visited Fig Tree Café and had four delicious dishes. The classic Eggs Benedict was outstanding--flavorful with perfectly runny eggs and bread cooked to perfection. Came here with some friends from out of town. Extremely solid location for breakfast! We had everything from pancakes to a bagel with lox to pancakes. Each was great. Of all of them the sandwich may be the fave. The sauces on that thing were hella tasty. Special shout out to Ro! Went above and beyond in our service. Was quick, attentive, kind, but more importantly wanted to make sure we had a great experience and catered recs to us. Really fantastic service and will absolutely ask for Ro next time we are in. Numerous places to sit outside. The courtyard is very lovely with a few tables inside too. There tends to be a wait. They don't take reservations but considering where it's at we just took a nice stroll and had a table for four within 15/20 minutes. Parking is street and there's plenty of it. Yelp shout out to Ben, one of the FTC managers who visited us at our table and was both hospitable and helpful. He gave us his favorite items as well as what's most popular. We are in San Diego for a short trip to see my nephew graduate from the Marines, when we landed we were driving around looking for some places that had vegan options. We told him that we were gonna start with water until we figure out what we wanted. I got up to use the restroom and when I came back, I saw a different Asian guy taking my daughter's order. This guy had absolutely no personality, he ever touch base with us to see how anything was and I had to wave him down to refill my cup of coffee. I feel whoever he was is a table hog.... I wish Isaiah would've been our server as we watched him interact with many people very pleasant ,touch back with them ,refilled their drinks, and all we got was this other Asian guy that was an order taker and basically never saw him after he took the order someone else delivered the food. You have a great little place here with great food. Your staff just needs to be more attentive ! So kudos to Isaiah for being on the floor and just generally being himself and great personality. It tasted more like water and oil than anything else, really bummed out. The man candy was good, but I expected it to be crispy, mine was super soggy and floppy. We called ahead and were quoted a 30-minute wait, but when we arrived, we ended up waiting a little over an hour.
