Came here after a Conference with a table of 7-8 ppl. It was a Saturday so it was an hour wait. Luckily its in Liberty station with benches, shade and tables to sit and wait. We ordered grilled turkey club, 3 types of egg Benedict (salmon, Canadian ham and short rib braised beef), 2 x Shrimp Fritatas, side of man candy bacon and truffle fries. Was really looking forward to this place, but the fries were rock hard and soaked in oil. Couldn't even stab them with a fork, I was afraid I would crack a tooth! I did NOT want more fries after that, and the "discount" they provided for the fries was just the cost of the upgrade to truffle fries and not the actual fries. I liked what I had which was the shrimp frittata. Because I am very sensitive to spice, I had the sauce and peppers on the side. I was given a choice of butter or jam along with my toast. I would have liked to have both. The frittata was very good. It had a great number of shrimp and the cheese was nice. I was disappointed in the choice of herbal teas (only 1 kind). My husband did not enjoy his meal. He had the vegetarian omelette. The choice of vegetables was not great and they were to al dente which was hard to chew. The roasted red peppers were good, but overwhelmed the dish. The coffee wasn't great. It was not a good flavor of coffee. We will try it again on a warmer day and try different things. read more

The quality of the food is seriously lacking. They were amazing a few years ago but now it's like being served slop. I ordered French toast (you have to pay extra for berries and cream, that's crazy!) scrambled eggs and man candy. The "man candy" was like soggy bacon not crispy and super greasy, the grease was orange. I didn't even want to eat the eggs because they looked weird. The service was nice and so were the drinks, however I feel like this restaurant is just riding on the fact that it's popular. This review will not matter they get plenty of business. Love coming to Fig Tree Cafe whenever I get a chance to. It's located at Liberty Station, so it's pretty close to a bunch of fun things in San Diego. Getting seated in the patio-area is so nice, especially when the sun is out and the breeze is going. The servers have always been accommodating, and I've never had an issue with service here! I usually get some sort of scramble, and I upgrade my potatoes to the arugula and parmesan stuff. It's incredible, seriously. I am a door dash driver but also was a previous customer there. i came in to pick up an order and asked how long it would be because we get rated on time and the rude employee ( a tall Asian man) started yelling at me in front of the customers and this is not the first time he's done this to me. I said I'm just asking you to not press the button that the order is ready before it's actually ready. he was beside himself yelling at me and another emoloyee came up and joined in laughing at me as the first guy asked me my name and said he would block me from coming there again. I was hoping they would block me from the store so I would never have to see them again but instead he decided to call Door Dash and tell them I was making an unsafe environment because I was on drugs and alcohol which is ridiculous I'm a 5 star driver with hundreds of 5 star ratings and no other problems for over 3 years. he basically tried to get me fired. I will be sure to tell all of my local friends to never eat there again with horrible rude employees! And I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

We arrived and there were no one around. A gentleman said he had to wipe down a table and we can be seated. No worries. Another gentleman came and said, no. He had a large party. Ok. And then, he changed his mind, and we were seated at the original spot. Oyyyyy.... We sat down and were given water and menus. We ordered coffees, soups, and fries. The fries were nice and crispy and tasty. Our waiter was busy with other tables. We asked for more coffee, but he must have forgotten. So, bottomless coffee means one cup. The soup was like watered down enchilada sauce. Overall, we did not have a good experience at all. I hate writing bad reviews. I just could not let this one go. There's plenty of parking in this area. The place is kept up. I cannot say we will return at this location any time soon. read more

The atmosphere was welcoming, and we were lucky to have two fantastic servers--Alan for the first half of our meal and Ben for the second. Both were so friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. Seriously, their hospitality was incredible. Loved chatting with Ben about coffee and favorite foodie spots in town. We ordered the French Toast and an Eggs Benedict and both were really great. The employees were super nice and very attentive. The only issue was we were seated in their patio area (which is no issue), but there was a bunch of flies flying around. It was getting onto the table and the drinks, etc. I know that is hard to combat but made it a little hard to eat when we were constantly trying to keep the flies away. read more
