Go to spot if you're looking to get a nice fade in Southie. Just walk in and they'll get you cleaned up. 10/10

Dark dude in the back right is Brutal!!! I asked for a quick beard line up. I sit down, he takes 5 min to find a show on Netflix. I tell him just a quick beard line up. He says OK and ends up giving me a full haircut. While cutting me he repeatedly stops to watch his show. And then charges me for $35 for a full cut. Tolk him 50 minutes. Never again read more

I had a bad haircut at another shop. I went to Figaro's to get it fixed. The barber was arguing with me and told me to go somewhere else. He was getting angry with me about it because I was trying to tell him how I wanted it fixed. It comes down to the principle that you never argue with customers. They were essentially pushing me out the door. I was very upset with that experience. Never go to this shop. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

I've walked by Figaro's a number of times in SoBo but never went in. After my recent haircut, I'm not sure why. I'm a funny lookin' guy so it's tough to make me look good. That didn't bother Jose, the man who cut my hair. He made quick work and did an impeccable job on my untamed mop and I've been getting compliments on it since. I also liked that it had the old barbershop feel and they were even playing "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" on the TV (while it was still in Theatres). I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

Walked in this afternoon, for a cut. My normal barber wasn't able to take me so walked over since this place is 3 blocks away from where i live. Great atmosphere, laid back and chill. Walter gave me a great cut and paid attention to detail, being sure to ask exactly what I wanted. hot towel and straight edge finishes were a nice touch. definitely great value for money $15 all included so i felt like my $20 was well-spent. #1 best barbershop in southie. If you go anywhere else in the state of Massachusetts you are genuinely playing yourself. Felix is the most gifted barber ever and the rest of the staff is also very talented. I have Felix's personal number and make appointments that he always honors. Leo is great too, I can only vouch for them two personally but all my friends come here and go to whoever's open. I personally only wait for Felix. read more

Easily 5 stars. Figaro's gives a phenomenal haircut at a low price. The only "downside" is that they really take their time, but I think that that's a testament to their pursuit of quality haircuts more than anything so I don't mind waiting while they sculpt my head into a masterpiece. read more

I moved to Boston a week ago, and I was so apprehensive about getting my first haircut. Well I'm happy and relieved to say that I am SO glad I went to Figaro's. I have stubborn, thick and wavy Italian hair that is always so hard to style and even harder to explain to barbers how to cut. Worth 10 stars ! As a reluctantly aging baby boomer, I am very particular about how my thinning silver hair looks. It isn't easy making a silk purse out of a sow"s ear. The guys at Figaro"s perform miracles! The first time went there a few months ago, one of the barbers who doesn't speak much English gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. The next few times, Walter has cut my hair. The guy is an artist! Very precise, takes his time and gives the perfect haircut. The place is always busy- 7 days a week. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but its worth it. The atmosphere is upbeat- everyone is happy and smiling! At $15 for a haircut ($18 including a hot lather straight blade shave), this is the place for both young and aging professionals to be properly groomed. read more

Very reasonably priced ($15) and I've almost always received a solid cut. Not much choice as to which barber you get, and many speak limited English, but they know how to cut hair and do a good job even with the language barrier. read more

The gentleman just gave me the greatest haircut of my entire life for standard barbershop price. They cut with total precision. Spanish music and good sense of community, like the Hispanic version of the black barber shop in "Coming to America". These Mexicans really know what they are doing and are incredibly nice. Not the best experience. Not the worst. They are open sunday, which is great. If you speak Spanish maybe you'll get better service. The guy who cut my hair was on the phone the whole time. Charged me $20. Better places to go. read more

I'll give them one more try. This is the second time I have visited and while I get a decent cut, it's not exactly how I want it. The guy today did the bare minimum - I had to keep directing him and then he didnt even want to edge me up. The whole reason why I came across town, fight for parking, and wait is because I heard great things about Figaro's, but today I left disappointed. read more

Jose was awesome and paid close attention to the details and made sure to ask questions throughout the process before assuming anything. Great prices as well, most places will charge extra for anything beyond getting the standard snip and split, but for a mohawk with lots of fading, it was just $15. Place is awesome, great cuts, sick fades, great tapeups, and perfect shapeups. Just moved to South Boston from New York and one of my biggest concerns was where I was going to get my hair cut. Walked by this place and then googled it to see if it was any good. The reviews on here are accurate, this place is great. If you need a fresh cut this is the place to go. I took My 3 year old Grand Son and My 13 year to this place,,the guys were AWESOME!!! and Patient,, My Grand Son got a MOHACK.. and My Son a FADE.. My glorious mane required some tender care. I happen to live across from this small place, and referencing other yelpers, decided to give it a shot. After a brief wait, I got seated for my haircut. The barber looked at me, I looked at him, and with that there was a tacit understanding that I was to receive the best hair cut of my life. We didnt speak a word to one another, as my Spanish consists of cerveza and the contents of the taco bell menu, and he had a similar command of the english tongue. I mimed what I wanted him to do with my hair, he nodded, and away we went The hair cut took 35 mins, which is impressive as I do not have long hair. This was because the care taken to make sure the length was consistent and that the straight razored back met perfection was phenomenal. The man was an artist. I am not sure what his name is, or how much the haircut actually was, but he was happy when I slapped a twenty in his hand and said "muy bueno". I will return here for a long time read more

Some of the barbers are great and some of them are terrible. The hardest part is that they don't speak English very well so half the time they don't understand what you want for hair cut. I went there today and I told them to leave my sideburns but by the time he got around to using the straight edge razor he took an inch off of them. I also told him I wanted the back tapered, but when he was finished and showed me with the mirror he did a straight line across the back instead of tapering it. I also told him to leave my bangs alone and all of a sudden he shortened them way more than I wanted. Sometimes I leave there and I'm very happy but occasionally I get one of the barbers that either isn't paying attention or doesn't understand English and they do a terrible job. read more

i walked into this barber shop not really sure what to expect, but i figured id try it because i heard domicans can cut hair. i was not disapointed and now figaros is my barber shop. i used to go to ottavios down the st, but louis, walter and the rest of the guys at fagaros give you the TLC ottavio doesnt. the figaro guys can cut any style, and if you want a close cut they can do it. they also use a sharp blade(which is the main reason i love them), and leave you with a very fresh and tight cut . atmosphere is important to me and their atmosphere is straight. not all of their barbers speak english, some of them very little, but they know the english necessary to understand what kind of haircut you want. they are all happy guys, smiling, and courteous. and each one of them can cut, so if walter has a line, use one of the other guys and theyre just as good. they're going to blast their dominican music but who cares, its a cool change of pace and makes for a very different experience, as if youre sitting down at a barber shop in peurto plata. they dont care what kind of a background you come from( the first time i went there, a hobo walked in with the most mangy beard i had ever seen. he only had five bucks and asked for a shave, and they said no problem and gave the poor guy probably the best shave hes had since vietnam) or what style hair you want, for cryin out loud they have an irish flag in the front, not surprising for southy, but still, as an irishman it makes me feel home enough. check them out you will not leave disapointed. oh, and $15 for a quality haircut thats precise and given true TLC - thats a bargain. read more
