This rating is based on the parking not the stores. If you want to come to this place be prepared to deal with trouble getting into the parking lot. To add to the situation multiple pay stations have issues even some that do not acknowledge the validation from the store at the plaza. With the money they make from all vehicles I don't see how they have machines that are not fully functional. In addition when exiting it's also a nightmare and at times can get bottle neck and prepare to wait if a machine breaks down on the way and you have cars in the back. Honestly the stores here should demand a better parking situation. It's DTLA and parking is already tough as is. You have been warned park at your own risk. read more

The bacon-wrapped cart in front of Fig & 7th has been there for years. I never stopped and got one because I was usually on my way home on the train and didn't want to lug it back home that way. I normally didn't see her during lunchtime out there and I rarely go out to lunch anyway. I would always smile at her and say Hi, but felt guilty that I never stopped. Since the Pandemic, I've come back to downtown LA to update my accounts that locked their doors in early 2020. The last day I was there I promised myself I would stop and get a hot dog on my way back to the hotel. I'm really glad I did! she was so sweet and made sure to ask me if I wanted everything on that dog. Which is a good thing because I know she must come across many customers that don't want cetain things added to their dogs. Her dogs do NOT disappoint! Beautiful place to hangout! It's an open area so the natural lighting makes the place super lively. The bottom floor is a food court with various options and the 2nd & 3rd floor have shops like Target, Zara, H&M and Bath&body works. It's a great place for lunch breaks since companies like EY is nearby. But for hangout with friends, it might be a bit small. I was there for 25-30 mins and I was pretty much done walking/ shopping the whole area. Also parking is whatever. I came here whilst visiting LA because it has the closest Target store and I needed a laptop charger. I didn't find the charger because Target doesn't sell them, but I did find this amazing shopping center! This center has lots of food options, a Gold's Gym, an H&M, and a huge outdoor lounging area on the lower level in the middle of the center. It's basically an outdoor mall with something for everyone and it's a great place to hang out and meet with friends if the weather is nice. This place is bright and has a fun vibe. Downtown LA: literally one of the most versatile hubs offering drastically-different environments ranging from artsy-entertainment to ethnic shopping boutiques and financial businesses to Skid Row. But a shopping center in downtown? Not what one expects, is it? Yet, lo and behold the shopping center of Fig at 7th. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the location of Fig at 7th at the corner of Figueroa and 7th across the street from the 7th Street Metro Center station. Fig at 7th is a scaled-down version of Hollywood at Highland of a multi-floor, open-air shopping center. Somewhat circular in shape, Fig at 7th includes a food court first floor, restaurants, and stores connected by flights of steps and escalators complete with seating areas in the center and an upstairs topped with views of skyscrapers. So, what can you find at Fig at 7th? The shopping mix is varied with such stores as a Target, Zara, H & M, Nordstrom Rack, and Victoria's Secret. Hop into Bath and Body Works for some lotion or Sunglass Hut to protect your peepers. Hungry? Grab a pizza at Pizza Studio, a burger at The Melt, or a special treat cupcake from Sprinkles. Wow, that sounds great, you may be thinking. The problem is that Fig at 7th is tiny in terms of its businesses. Each store is a Mr. Rogers Neighborhood version of what you are used to therefore being claustrophobic when there are too many customers and not having enough of a selection. It's not an ideal shopping environment and you probably won't find what you are looking for. Even attempting a decent meal at Fig at 7th can be confusing as the first floor "Taste" is the home of the indoor food court but it looks like a restaurant from the exterior not being clear to patrons that there are various eateries housed inside. On the positive end of the spectrum, it's definitely a plus to have a shopping center and retail establishments in downtown; perfect if you are in the area and need to dwindle some time or grab a last-minute item. Spots like Fig at 7th make downtown more habitable and welcoming. Definitely a job well done by Fig at 7th in that respect. Also grade-A worthy is the fact that Fig at 7th is quite clean. It is a respite from other areas of downtown and there isn't litter on the floor or homeless folks hanging about. Fig at 7th is safe for the kiddos shopping alongside parents. There isn't much to say about Fig at 7th as it is relatively small and straight-forward. Take it for what it is: a smaller version of a 'mall' in downtown. Just don't expect anything elaborate or cumbersome. Fig at 7th is nice to check out if you have time on your hands in the area but certainly nothing to go out of your way for. read more

There's a huge parking lot with many levels as you drive around. With validation you'll still pay. Under an hour is $1. If you go to Golds Gym though they can help with parking too. This is a nice "arena style" shopping center with stores and restaurants on multiple levels. It is surrounded by high rise office buildings. The shopping center features a city target, Gold's gym, Victoria's secret, H&M, Mendocino Farms and many more. They even have a Sprinkles Cupcake store here. If you work around the area this would a great place to visit during your lunch hour. If you are visiting, it is a little bit of a hassle to park and shop. read more

This review is for a bad experience I had with a parking attendant when exiting the parking lot. My parking slip stated the time I entered was 16:29. I entered the slip to exit at the parking lot at exactly 19:28 (iphone time, so pretty accurate to global time standard). With my 3 hour free validation, the charge should be $0. For some reason, the time ended up stamping around 19:35 and charged me $3. I tried again and pressing the "help" button to ask for help. Me: I came here at 19:28, I don't know why it is charging me. Him: What time was it stamped on your ticket? Me: 16:29 and I have 3 hour validation Him: 3 hour validation is with your gym, we can't do anything about the validation. Me: It was exactly 3 hours, I shouldn't have to pay. I think there is something wrong with your machine. It also took forever to get someone to help. Him: There were no issues with any of our machines earlier. You're the only one complaining to us. There is no issues with our machines. Their logic here was "there was no issues before, so there cannot be issues now." For the record, there was an issue with their machines earlier. My friend came in, and the machine did not dispense until 10 mins after the time stamp. And for me, while exiting, the machine added another 10 mins to my clock. Calling the attendant was useless and I think he was downright lazy. Luckily did not add to my charge. Troubles happen and they do not attempt to fix any of it. This experience with the employee highly reflected that of the business. Hence, one star for FIGat7th. The machine may have technical issues, but the customer service model here is obviously broken. No one should pay for your technical issues and incompetent/lazy employees. (To add, there was actually a $6 flat rate after 4pm on weekdays. My validation was worth $8 on their little processor. Can I say, the parking lot actually owes me $2?) As you read most of the reviews, many of the one and two stars reviews on here were mainly about the parking. So, be warned. read more

I wanted to visit a city Target, so I found this Figat7th mall on Yelp. It's so hipster! The first floor has all your food taken care of, the second floor has Target, and the third floor has H&M and Zara. If I lived here, this would be all I need (..maybe.). They kind of outline your week for you: margarita Monday, taco Tuesday, wellness Wednesday, throwback Thursday, and Sunday fun day brunch. The outdoor seating on the first floor is plentiful. It's good for lunch, catching up wth friends, or getting work done. The hanging lights and orange canopies reminded me of the Anaheim packing house but the difference was that this was outdoors. Biggest downfall to this nice shopping area is the parking (But it's the same everywhere else in dtla. Not gunna stop complaining). As an OC resident, I think these LA parking ordeals are a pain in the a$$. It's $2.50 per 10 minutes. If you get it validated, it's $1 for the first hour, then $2.50 for two hours. I was fortunate to score tickets (Thanks Eventbrite!) to the Taste the Taste event sponsored by FIGat7th and Los Angeles Magazine on 3/1/13. There was live music, raffle giveaways and FREE FOOD and DRINKS! The Check-in process was smooth and each person was given a Passport with ten different restaurants to try and a wristband, good for three drinks. The participating restaurants were Sprinkles, Mendocino Farms, The Melt, Oleego, Indus by Saffron, Flying Pig, Loteria!, George's Greek Grill, Starbucks and City Tavern. Juicy Lucy was listed but they weren't open for business. Bummer, I wanted to try their burgers with the oozing cheese, Mmmmm. When you visit each restaurant, they will stamp your Passport and after you've collected all the stamps, you'll be entered to a raffle drawing for great prizes (gift cards and goodie bags, etc). Unfortunately, I didn't win... I never win anything =( Food: *Sprinkles: I love Cupcakes! They had four bite-sized flavors to sample. Too bad we could only try one =( I wanted to eat them ALL, Nom Nom Nom! I had the Red Velvet and it was Yummy! People often complain about the frosting being too sweet but I loved it. 3.5-4 stars Interesting concept of a smaller open-air shopping center in the middle of DTLA's Financial District, on Figueroa and 7th Street (nestled in-between 7th and 8th Street). They do have a parking structure but those elevators sure are confusing if it's your first time here, because some are in-between parking levels, due to the ramps. Make sure you have some cash on you because the parking machines were not accepting credit cards the day we visited. Exiting was complicated for a first timer as well. Good thing we saw a security officer on one of the levels and he pointed which direction we should go because they had blocked off some exits, and even though, we were following the signs, they were not leading us to the exits. Good selections of dining options at the TASTE Food Hall. There was a band performing outside of the Food Hall. Great vibes if you're looking for a place to chill in the middle of Financial District. I do wish, also, that they had a small business coffee shop because everyone was crammed at the Starbucks inside of Target for their caffeine fix. From looking at the directory, there seems to be about 15ish retail stores. The busiest among them being Gold's Gym, Target, and Nordstrom Rack. We really liked the selection of clothing at Nordstrom Rack, and also took a look around Zara and H&M. Not many storefront options so if you're looking for a mall, this isn't the place to go but if you wanted something from one of these stores, then come on by! This place had most of what I, as a visitor, would want within walking distance. I decided to go carless, a first in my 20+ years of visiting LA, and knew it'd be a challenge when it came to my strong desire to SHOP TIL I DROP in LA. I mean, LA's style is not the same as Denver! This place had a Zara, Nordstrom Rack, and H&M which gave me a taste of what I could have if I only had a car. It's not a fashion Mecca by any means but if you're in town for work, it's enough to get the job done. The Target was a pleasant surprise as my trip had rain in the forecast so I could pick up a few necessities along the way. When I saw there was a Nordstrom Rack opening, I had to come by. Being my first time here, I was cautious of parking because this is the high rent District of LA. I was glad to find that parking is just $1.00/hour with validation, so kept my tour under one hour. I feel if you know what you want, it's totally doable to see everything here. The food court is 100% quality vendors, and I would dine at any of these establishment for lunch. The upper deck with patio tables is not that well kept, with the smell of urine and some transients hanging out. You gotta give it to this shopping center--they do an amazing job of programming! In conjunction with Arts Brookfield, they manage to pull in some of LA's most interesting artists. Every week they have a series of happy hours in the food court and some type of art installation or live music. Went to see Tuxedo last week and it was hopping. A huge crowd that couldn't help dancing to the cool grooves of Mayer Hawthorne. If you buy anything from one of the merchant they validate your parking. Oh, and you can bring a lawn chair and sit on one of the grassy knolls, sit at one of the patio tables, or stand to get closer to the performers. read more

I remember just a year ago when this was being built and would have never imagined in my wildest dreams that it would be such a hub of activity for DTers who live and work in the area. Not only do you have some great dining options, but there is ample seating (both outside and in), free Wi-Fi, and parking isn't as ridiculous as some other DT institutions. Oh, and there's Target, so that's enough for 5 stars in itself. And a Farmers' Market on Thursdays with some intoxicating aromas filling the air from hand-selected artisans. Programming is clearly their specialty. They've curated a series of FREE events all summer long and you can bet there'll be more to come in the less busy seasons as well. One thing that would take it up a notch would be a mom and popish style coffee joint (but the Starbucks in Target just might trump that effort). Oh, and although it doesn't look like a place you can imbibe...many of the food operators have booze for your liquid lunch, after work, weekend diddle daddling pleasure! read more

Holy Crap On A Cracker!!!! I'm In LOVE with this little shopping area!! It was my old lunch area I'd go to every single day when I worked out here before it got this good!! I use to work in the old TCW building (next door to the Original Pantry & Staples, before they got face lifted & the entire area just blew up and grew strong w/a ton of thriving and exciting new businesses!! I'm so jealous! I would rather work back over here than in Little Tokyo!!! I love both, but shopping & large variety of everything prevails every here more. I remember it was Robinson's May (Irony, I trained at the old building on Wilshire many moons ago before it got demolished) and there was a dinky Food court, some overpriced Liz Claireborne store, overpriced Toy store - Mr. G's I think? Overpriced everything else stores that were so boring I don't remember what the heck they were or carried. I do remember years past I'd take my girls when they were little to take pics w/Santa and a friend & I would sit on his lap and take pics too....Oh God that's embarrassing because we were big and probably killed his leg God Bless him...lol. Also missing is an the old see thru elevator that took forever!! The Escalator and stairs in front of the place are a welcome sight!! What they do have now? Holy Crap on a Cracker Penny!! You've got a City Target (mini version, but still so nice & lots of cute everything/bare essentials) you've got a MAC make up store (so nice to have this!!) an H & M store, Victoria's Secret, Pink store (Victoria's Secret), Zara (both H & M and Zara favorite European stores and now DTLA has them!!!), a much nicer Food Court open area of decent cuisine, Gelato & Cupcake's - Oh Yay!!, What else? Sport's Authority, Lenscrafter's, Gold's Gym still there, the CPK is still there, George's Greek still there (it was new when my job transferred to Lil Tokyo), So is Morton's Steakhouse, and a few other places that I might have left out, because quite honestly the others take my attention away. They have a Chase ATM at nearby corner towards 7th and parking has never been an issue here, you just got to pay. I am so thankful my hubby works near Staples, giving me the opportunity to come back and make this my new play ground, (amongst LA Live of course) there is just so much to do in LA and this should definitely be a pit stop for all women and men (children/families too). Just a small note: Don't let the pan handler's scare you, (one Vietnam Vet is harmless), and there is a guard in front pretty much there every time I've come by. I also believe there is a DJ in the late afternoon on Fridays that play's some choice music (I'm an 80's child) but there is something for everyone as they switch off and it's only for a little while, way before it gets dark. read more

I had some time to kill so walked over to 7th & Fig to see what was there. It was okay.... they have free wifi and a bunch of shops to browse in, a food court and several restaurants. I didn't think any of the shops were all that exciting or that I would make a special trip just to come here, but if you're in the area and want to rest your feet or just kill some time, it's okay. They started Farmers Market here recently but it wasn't on the day I visited, I think I would've been more excited had it been a Farmers Market day. read more

While walking around Downtown LA, Nitar L. and I stumble into FIGat7th because we wanted to stop by a Target. Little did we know, one stop at City Target became a 2 hour shopping spree in whole plaza! This place has a City Target, Sprinkles, Sunglass Hut, H&M, Zara, and more! It's no shopping mall, but there's definitely enough stores there to keep one busy for hours. What I loved about this place was that every employee we ran into here, from store employees to security guards, was exceptionally kind and helpful! We asked some questions not pertaining to the actual plaza, and they kindly helped pull out their phone to help us get as much information as they could. Also, while we were trying to figure out (on our own) where a store was, the super kind security officer stepped in and pointed the way. There are places to eat in this little shopping center as well. We didn't eat anywhere, but we took a peek inside Sprinkles! While I have all of the stores in this plaza in much more convenient locations, I wouldn't mind stopping by this place if I'm in the area and want to do some shopping! read more

I used to work in DTLA, so I would sometimes go to the food court for lunch or dinner. Some of the places are pretty pricy, but it was nice to treat myself every once in a while. Some of the highlights of this center include: City Target, Sprinkles, Mendocino Farms and The Melt. The parking structure is a little weird but just be sure you park on levels 1-3. If you park on the higher levels, you'll end up paying more since those are for the businesses. You'll have to pay at least $1, even if the store validates your parking (just make sure to ask Target, Sprinkles, etc. for parking validation). Here are some of the spots I recommend visiting if you're at the Taste Food Hall: Mendocino Farms: Mendocino is all about the sandwich. Sure, they have salads and soups, too, but the sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had. Some of them tend to be a little more expensive than I would usually spend on a sandwich, but they're gourmet and pride themselves on their fresh ingredients. One of my favorites is the "Not So Fried Chicken" sandwich, which comprises shaved, roasted free range chicken that's rolled in herb aioli and topped with mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, pickled red onions on toasted ciabatta with a side of chipotle BBQ sauce or mustard pickle remoulade. I love the slight kick from the chipotle BBQ sauce. The Melt: This has to be one of my favorites in the food court area ... and it's also one of the more affordable choices. The menu has changed quite a bit since my first visit, but I got a sandwich with soup (it was one of the combos). I really enjoyed the "Mac Daddy," which features an aged sharp and mild cheddar blend, macaroni and bacon in between slices of artisan white bread. I've also tried the "Italian Job," which has a nice kick because it includes fontina and provolone and grilled mushrooms on spicy garlic bread. I like the herbs and flavors included in this zesty sandwich. If I ever got to revisit The Melt, I would definitely want to try some of their burgers and desserts. Sprinkles Cupcakes: This cupcakery still reigns as home of my favorite cupcakes. Be sure to follow their Twitter handle for special BOGO deals (and sometimes free cupcakes). Be aware that the flavors change daily (and there are seasonal ones), so you might want to check out their menu online before going. But, Sprinkles never fails to disappoint me ... I can always find something I like from there. The Pizza Studio: I went to this DIY pizza place when I was really craving pizza for dinner. You can either create your own masterpiece here or you can opt for one of the items on their signature menu. I liked the thin crust offerings, but it can get pricy if you add too many toppings, so I kept my pizza simple. I still prefer Blaze Pizza or Pieology, but The Pizza Studio certainly satisfies any savory craving. And, since the pizza is thin crust, you won't feel insanely full after you devour the entire pie (like I did). read more

I work downtown right next to FIGat7th. I love it. It's an outdoor "mall" even though it probably doesn't have as many stores as a regular mall, but it is in a good part of downtown right near a metro station too. It has a good variety of stores, restaurants and a food court. It is very clean and almost always security around, so you definitely feel safe! There are tables by outside on the bottom level and upstairs at the very top. On Thursdays they have a farmers market at the top. read more

Parking attendants are assholes. Avoid any interaction with them if possible. About 10 months ago, I went to the gym and lost my parking ticket. I understand that it was my fault. My problem was the attitude the parking attendant gave me. He said "You're the guy who keeps doing this to get free parking huh?" Mind you I was new to the area and this was my first month coming to this gym. I said "um no" and he replied with "yeah i know you are". I dont really do yelp reviews even I have negative experiences because my form of protest is just never going there again. Unfortunately, i cant not park here. I changed my mind to write this review today after another bad experience with a parking attendant. Their parking machines werent accepting my validated ticket and spitting it back out. I had 3 hours free validation but only was there for 1 hour. When i asked for help, the parking attendant was trying to make me pay. When i told her i've never had to pay because of my golds gym membership, she demanded that i show her my physical bar code. I lost my physical bar code a few months ago after it ripped off of my keys. I explained to her and showed her my barcode on my phone instead. This was not good enough for her. She said I could either call for assistance or just keep waiting and rack up time. Thankfully, another guy came and inspected the situation. It took him 5 seconds to scan his barcode and I was instantly able to leave the area. Im showing you my gym barcode and my validated parking ticket. Nice idea, but I think they've missed the mark here. First off, the parking lot is ridiculous. It's very confusing and the signage is lacking. You must park on the bottom three floors if you want a discounted parking rate..If you miss the turn, you'll be on the higher numbered floors and it's difficult to turn around..still don't know how they figure out how they know you parked on the "wrong" floor, but they I guess they do. Once you do park, good luck finding the elevator. Not marked at all. Must guess where it is. Also, once on the elevator, there's no information at all. I got lucky and picked the floor with the star on it and it turned out to be the main level...again, no information at all. Once off the main level, you must again guess where to go. It's like some kind of first player video game. Absolutely ridiculous. What an embarrassment. How can they screw up such a simple thing as showing people how to get from the parking lot to the dang shopping and dining area? Even if you do know where you're going, you much run a gauntlet of stars and escalators to get there. Ok, this is by far the most idiotic thing about the place: There's a food court, but you don't know that. It just says "Taste," which could easily be the name of a restaurant. Instead, it's the food court, but the windows are not quite transparent..almost opaque from the outside, so you can't really tell what's in there. Maybe that's why the food court was basically empty. I went there to meet at a specific restaurant inside "Taste" and it was way too hard to find. I think the restaurants inside are losing tons of business because they have no idea of all the nice places to eat inside of "Taste." Pretty basic, you must be able to find a place to eat there. Getting out of the parking lot isn't any easier than getting in. Again, the signs totally suck. By the way, there are no machines in the parking lot to prepay your parking before you go through the exit. You put your ticket, validated or not into the slot and then put your credit card in there. It takes a while and really creates a long line of cars waiting to get the heck out of there. They get two stars because there are some good stores and they have free WiFi. Other than that, it's not worth the bother to go back. I think the planners and designers tried to be too cool for their own good. I could see if you live downtown and are walking there or taking public transportation ti might be OK. Driving and parking is way too big of a hassle. read more

Location: It is in downtown Los Angeles, Ca. Across the street from the 7th street Metro train station and the tallest building west of the Mississippi. Stores: This mall is an open air mall with some stores partially covered, my favorite's are L' occitane . where you can get some items made with French lavender, helps make you smell like an old world barber shop dandy. They have a Target Store. Bath and Body Works. They used to have a Sport's Chalet where Lazy Smurf was said to have purchased his fishing license's, they have closed though. In it's place is a Nordstrom Rack. It is quite popular and good bargains may be had. There is many more stores, too many to list here. Restaurants: There is a Five Guys burger joint and a build your own pizza joint (can't recall the name) a soba noodles place etc. All located in a food court some of the locals have dubbed LZ Smurf. Service: the cleaning staff keep the place nicely swept and the garbage cans emptied. Security is helpful with any question's you may have. Parking: If I were you I would bike, train, bus, scooter or scateboard to get here. Maybe even walk. The parking garage is expensive. Overall: This mall is below street level, expect your cell phones to not work. There is no free parking but some of the stores are really nice. I guess it is worth it. read more

I enjoy coming here especially for lunch and for Gold's Gym! The parking structure is a confusing as hell, but you'll get used to it. Parking is only available 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor for the general public. It's $1 for the first hour, $2.50 for the second, and it just goes up from there. Free 4 hour parking if you're a Gold's Gym member though... it's just so damn expensive... I really love the food court on the first floor, right when you enter passed Gold's Gym, it'll be on the left side. There's a range of food options to choose from. My favorites are The Flying Pig and Mendocino Farms! As for retail, there's not a lot to choose from only Zara, Victoria Secret, H&M, Sunglass Hut, Sports Chalet, and a few more. City Target is great, but I hate how they bumped the prices just because of where it's located. Overall, really clean place and it's nice to just chill and eat. 3.5 stars but I'll just give it a 3, because of parking and stuff haha... read more
