I stumbled upon this shop by accident. I noticed it from afar as I was going to a thrift store in the same parking lot. It's kind of a strange strip mall with about half of the businesses gone, but it still captured my interest and I moseyed on in. I was planning on having lunch out, but I decided to see if there were some items I could purchase and have lunch at home. I am glad I did. I created a smorgasbord of sorts with Syrian bread, cheeses, olives, and labne. They had a good selection of mediterranean items and the prices seemed reasonable. My only caution is to look closely at expiration dates as some are either past their prime or very close. The men who work there were pleasant and seemed to appreciate my business. Parking is very easy since many stores are no longer there. I will be back when I'm in town to explore a little further. read more

Hurray!!! They have halloumi! For those of you who don't know, halloumi is a Mediterranean cheese that you grill like meat (https://www.thespruceeats.com/what-is-halloumi-cheese-3376845). I discovered it when I experimented with vegetarianism, and it was about the only happy memories from such. It was $6, and at least half the price then whole foods. They also had a cook of cool ingredients and teas to try. Super local find, and very nice people. You should come just to change up your cooking experience. I got one of the scharma marinates and it was interesting. Will definitely try to support more. read more

I went to this store to buy some pickled turnips and onions. I found the turnips and asked the older gentleman at the counter if he had pickled onions. He approached me but as he did a woman asked him another question. He turned away to help her and never bothered to come back. Yeah she was rude but he could have asked her to hold on for a minute. Buyer be warned and check expiration dates on products before you shop! I called the store after purchasing a dairy product and informed the owner that it appeared to have been spoiled, on the phone he asked me to come back and he'll do a refund however when I went in person he was very rude and short and told me not to buy from his store again since I was the only one complaining about the yogurt being rancid. Rating a 1/5 stars bc rating 0 is not an option. read more

I used to go to this store to get groceries but today I asked for something and they tired to sell me something different and they were speaking in arabic saying that "I wouldn't know the difference" thinking I don't understand their language in fact I am arab but I was speaking in English. Don't go to this store they will try to sell you stuff that's been sitting on the shelves. read more

Yesterday while I was getting my oil changed I decided to walk down to this little local grocery store to check out their goods. I was delightfully surprised at all the treasures inside! Small little store with mostly middle eastern foods. Freezer section. Dried & canned foods. A little fresh produce - just the basics - tomatoes onions garlic a few others. This is the kind of place you go looking for specialty items which is what I was doing. And I found it and then some. Found the sumac I wanted to make zaatar and then found they had several versions of zaatar. 3 actually different zaatar. 1 was Jordanian can't remember the other 2. The owner didn't have a recommendation - said they're pretty much the same so I just got the sumac to make my own blend. Found lots of other stuff to try didn't get everything this time so have to go back to try more. In their fridge they had some home made savory pastries which were pretty good. So exciting to try something different! Biggest jackpot here though is the pita! From Jerusalem pita. So good. So fresh! Normally I listen to my nose but rarely do I find a packaged baked bread that smells so good that I go back and get another package!!!!!! Can't wait to try more stuff here!!!! read more

Really excited to have visited this store in the neighborhood. Very clean and organized. Grocery items include vegetables and spices. Soon to carry fresh halal meat. Friendly owners are willing to add any grocery item you would like to see at the store. They have future plans to include fresh hot kabobs, gyros and such. I'm so glad such a Mediterranean store now exists in the Roseville area. read more

Only posting to support this business, and not as much to share my opinion. All I can say, no more wholefoods for me. Items like hummus, olives, olive oil, bread, cheese, sweets, and even meat are waaay better from this store and more reasonably priced. And btw - I do appreciate the fact that owner was not wearing a mask that's oxygen deprivation to all the brainwashed people out there. read more

The store has a nice selection of items that are hard to find. Came here for the dates by the box. The employee was helpful to bring out an unopened box to inspect, they were all looking fresh. I don't understand all the four and five star reviews. I have visited the store several times since it opened and always came away disappointed with my experience. The owner has never once been friendly, no greeting, grudgingly help if asked a question but would rather stare at his laptop next to the register. You always feel great when you ask for say "Hummus" and he doesn't say anything, huffs gets up walks down the isle points at a can and walks off. I do want to say they do have a great selection of Middle Eastern items and the Pita Bread looks great, haven't tried it yet. The butcher case at the back of the store with the cheese, French Feta looks like it wouldn't pass a health inspection and it has been like that since it opened. Three or four customers came in after me and received a much better reception than I did, I hate to say that it might have been an ethnic thing but I definitely felt ignored and out of place. read more

Terrible place, I went with my family and my mom noticed items were expired. She very kindly brought it to the workers (maybe owner) attention and he lost it, started yelling and calling names. Decided to leave and never come back again, I will let all my friends know, guy is rude and store looks dirty. read more

I think Figs N Olives is a nice store for the area. If you want middle eastern food, they have lots of variety in a very, very small store. I do think the owner treats maybe his regular customers (or customers he recognizes as "regulars" better than those of us who only occasionally visit. My wife is of middle eastern heritage, but she doesn't speak Arabic (she does make the great, great, great food however). So sometimes when she asks the owner if he has something, he is a little gruff (I'm thinking because she's asking in English???) Other times he's helpful. There was a middle eastern store on the other side of Harding where the owner was very friendly, but they went out of business a few years ago. I do hope this place succeeds, the need is there because the other really great middle eastern markets are in Sacramento, and some of those stores don't have the friendliest service, either. read more

This is a great Mediterranean place, in the heart of Roseville. I'm glad I no longer have to drive to Sacramento for anything.
