I love it for it's homey atmosphere. All the brothers are really nice, especially John. Pete the butcher is really funny, too.

I believe that was the owner. He instantly came over to talk to us when we are browsing to talk about his store pics and I told him I was new and he was explaining to me about the different bourbons and how are they are made and what they had in the store. The good about this place is that there is great service with some of the best customer support I've ever had, especially for a liquor store. He has a large variety of different bourbons and wines. He they do some combo deals on multiple bottles that are listed on the tags by the bourbon. There are a ton of store pics and he loves talking about them and is very passionate. The stores while organized and clean. Mostly store picks are on the right side and the left side has the regular ones. He has a lot of allocated items in the back and on top shelves. Everything is priced around secondary market and some are decent deals. Best customer service no upselling of items. He just talked about what he had and he made sure that I made the correct choice and didn't overspend. He would rather have a repeat customer then making a buck. 100% would come back here again.

Tonight I had a very bad experience picking up an order at this BevMo location…read more I was picking up a DoorDash order. As instructed, I went to the back door and rang the bell. I waited around 20-30 seconds, and since no one came--and because I've had past experiences where the bell wasn't heard--I rang it one more time, just to be sure. A male employee with a long black beard came out extremely rude and aggressive ready to fight, asking why I rang the doorbell two times. His tone was disrespectful from the start, just because I clicked the bell twice. I noticed how frustrated he was, so I tried to change the mood in a light, humorous way and said, "Chill man, it's just a ring." But that made things worse. He became even more aggressive and started saying things like, "What if I come to your house and ring your doorbell multiple times?"--even though I only rang it two times, not repeatedly. He went on a long paragraph saying things like "Don't ring it multiple times, we're not deaf," in a very disrespectful way. Just because I said the word "chill", he got even more upset. He then started another long paragraph explaining that he was working alone tonight. I understand being alone and stressed, but that is not the customer's fault. If the store is understaffed, that is something to talk to a manager about--not something to take out on customers or delivery drivers over a simple doorbell. Despite all of this, I still felt bad for him. Maybe he was having a bad day. I tried to end things peacefully by apologizing and reaching out to shake his hand. He refused. I tried again, and he refused again. I've honestly never experienced that before, and it left me feeling really uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially since I did nothing wrong. At the end, when he handed me the order, he suddenly called me "boss" and said "have a good day" in an aggressive, sarcastic way--after already ruining my mood. It felt disrespectful and unnecessary. This is not an acceptable way to communicate with a customer or a delivery driver just because they rang a doorbell twice. If someone is having a bad day, problems with family, management, or working alone--that is not how you handle it. You don't fix those problems by making someone else's day worse. Did I deserve this experience just for ringing the bell two times?

It was held at the elegant High Steaks Steakhouse inside Thunder Valley Casino & Resort and led by Balvenie Ambassador, David Laird. When we first arrived, they led us to the beautiful back patio where we were welcomed with the most amazing cocktail, made with Monkey Shoulder whiskey, Amaretto, and fresh squeezed orange and lemon juice. They also offered hand-rolled cigars, which I don't smoke, but if I did, I would've looked like a boss up in there holding my cigar and whiskey (felt like I was on the set of Mad Men)! After mingling on the patio for a bit, we were invited back inside to a private room for appetizers of different cheeses, jam, crackers, fruit, pulled pork sliders, and lamb chops. Everything was delicious, especially the tender and flavorful lamb chops on a bed of fried onion strings. David Laird gave a wonderfully detailed presentation and introduction of the Balvenie brand. Although its distillery has been in Scotland since the 1300's, I had never heard of it. I'm not, per se, a huge whiskey fan or drinker, but I do have an appreciation for the history and effort that goes into crafting a finely aged single malt and its distinguishing flavors. Throughout the class, we tasted Balvenie's 12, 14, 17, and 21-year aged whiskeys. My 2 favorites were the sweetest (12 y.o) and the richest (21 y.o) of the bunch. The 21 year old Port paired well with the dessert specially created for us by the High Steaks pastry chef: a chocolate cigar with a crème brulee ashtray. Easily, one of the best desserts I've ever had in my life! Thank you to Jackie Gahan, Portfolio Marketing Manager, for the invitation and hosting this special event, David Laird, Balvenie Ambassador, for the entertaining and educational whiskey tasting, and the staff at High Steaks for providing the great food, cocktails, and hospitality.

However, Balvenie whiskey at the High Steaks?! Too tempting to pass up! And it definitely proved to be everything I expected. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jackie, who showed us to the back patio. The welcome drink was a perfect blend of citrus and Monkey Shoulder whiskey, delicious enough to turn non-whiskey drinkers into alcoholics! After our drinks, Castillas Cigars let us sample their hand-rolled cigars. Drink in one hand, cigar in another. Say hello to my little friend. Inside the private room, we were able to enjoy some appetizers before the class began. The lambchops were so tender and juicy! Now onto the booze.. David was very informative on the history and key masters of the trade. It's nice to know that Balvenie employees, such as Malt Master David Stewart, have been in the trade for over 30 years. We were able to sample 4 different aged whiskies, the best being the 17 (crisp and light) and 21-yr (smooth) whiskies. For those whiskey fans, this is a must go-to class. They even teach you tricks to look like a whiskey connoisseur at your next outing. Let's just say, next time I'll be swirling my whiskey glass up to the light with a furrowed brow of a face in deep thought.. total BS thoughts, but that's the lesson learned!
