I grew up not too far from this store. Customer service is pretty consistent and the prices are competitive compared to Bel Air and Raley's. Their ads come out Tuesday night on the handy Safeway app. The old school way (cutting coupons from ads) is still availablel. For the discounts, you can use your phone number. That gets you member prices, which saves you money. Without signing up for the Safeway membership, you will pay a substantial amount more. This store is very clean. It's nice to grab yourself a coffee at Starbucks while you shop. All the departments work very hard to maintain an organized space, although there are hiccups here and there. They have great weekly specials. One that I am fond of is their "$5 Friday," where they offer an items/items for a deal. At this store, if they are out of that item that is part of their $5 Friday, you snooze you lose. For example, Safeway was offering the beef short ribs at just $5 a pound in their meat deptartment back in mid January, but they ran out. Normally, if they're out of an item that's on sale, you can request what's called a "rain check" at check out. This "rain check" is good for 30 days after it is given to you. I just found out they do not offer "rain checks" at this store for $5 Friday items, as said by the new night manager on Friday February 6th. Thankfully, it was already provided to me in mid January by an employee that also did not know this was a rule. So they honored it. At this store, "rain checks" are available on other items that are on sale in the ad during the week. Since this Safeway is not close to where I live, two other Safeway's have told me they offer it on all items all the time because they want to keep the customers coming back. Even on the $5 Friday items. So, for the inconvenience of having to go to another store because of this, I did drop my star rating by 2. I like using self checkout. It is easy and quick. The card systems take Apple and Android pay. There is a checker available to help you if you run into any issues. One person watches over about 6-8 self check out stations. Regular check stands are still available, too. I won't stop coming to this store. My client lives around the corner and she has her favorite Safeway items, like that roasted chicken I just picked up for her. She loves drinking Sprite and about every other week, Sprite will go on sale at Safeway's as "buy 2, get 2 free" and every so often, "buy 2 get 3 free." I love there deli sandwiches but today is now the 2nd time I have had a problem with the guy who works at the deli are made a complete mess of mine and my husband sandwiches and didn't even listen to how we wanted them made there so hard to eat now and also everything is falling out of them and also listening to us at all. Be sure to check your receipts after shopping at this store located at 989 Sunrise Avenue in Roseville to make sure the prices of the items that you've purchased match the advertised prices and/or the prices listed on the shelves. Today we bought some asparagus that had an advertised member price of $1.99 per pound but it was $5.99 per pound when it was rung up. Hubby and I stopped into this location yesterday morning heading to our weekend getaway, since I forgot my sunglasses at home and needed a new pair to protect my eyes from the sun. The staff were nice, but not very knowledgeable about what they have in stock. Their were no mirrors by their sunglasses you'd expect to see to pick out the right shape for your face before purchasing a nice pair of sunglasses. Not to mention the sunglasses, along with the rack by their customer service was very dusty, so I didn't end up purchasing any. I did on the other hand purchase some Safeway brand toothpaste that worked just as good as Sensodyne for a lot less money that we were in need of! The other safeway always seems to run out of sale items I wanted to review the food items they had at Safeway. I tried the salad combo- 1 protein item + 2 salads for $9. I got: Seafood salad w veggies (there's 2 types; both $9.99/lb): imitation crab + a few shrimp. Was probably my 2nd fave out of what I got. I liked the celery in it for the crunch. Chk+ cranberry salad (7.99/lb) was meh... i don't like green onions. Not much taste except for cranberries giving it sweetness. Good amt of chk if you like meat. General tso's chk ($ ??) as protein: terrible, too much breading, didn't even feel like i tasted chk in it at all for 90% of it. Deviled eggs potato salad: fave out of the bunch. not bad, prefer eggs a bit less hard. $5.99/lb. Would like celery in it. Found that they sell it pre-packaged in the grocery store section for $4.99 for 16oz, so I'll get that next time instead. Service at the sushi place, chinese hot food place, fried food place and salad place was good, everyone was very quick to ask if I'd been helped. I always like coming here they always have great weekly adds and a lot great items on sale plus they have a A Conveniently located Starbucks inside which I appreciate having my coffee when I like to shop early in the mornings I enjoy having my Morning fuel the staff is awesome here they are Always happy to help you find exactly what you are looking for abs they will even walk you to the aisle and show you exactly where it is which I definitely appreciate because I can't even tell you how many times I walked by the aisle that I think it would be on and it's on the other side of the store so it's definitely nice to be shown where it is I love the delicious baby items my favorite is the sugar donuts and my families favorite is the French bread and they also have really great quality meats with great taste great for barbecuing when the weather is nicer this establishment definitely has something for everybody they have conveniently located in front of the store sanitizing wipes for you to use while shopping which I definitely appreciate them taking extra precautions with COVID-19 I highly recommend this establishment for anybody looking for a great deal they have great weekly ads and always have great sales on all the items throughout the store I will definitely be coming back here again very soon from here to visit and we're great experiences to come thank you Safeway read more

Me and my friend came in just after 10 last night and were picking up some snacks as we were gonna have a movie night. We got through checkout and just as we were about to be handed our receipt the female cashier on duty looks at the food we picked out and very loudly said "that's a major high". I think it is incredibly unprofessional to accuse people of being high and to make weird comments on the food people pick out. I like going to this Safeway but I'm done. Every time I go to that safeway, they have someone outside asking for signatures and donations. Normally I just say,"no thank you" and I keep it moving but today 5/5/23 3pm I said no thank you and the guy said,"No problem, I'll try again on your way out" and that hit a switch with me. This review pertains to the pharmacy located at this Safeway, the store itself is fine. If I could give this review of the pharmacy zero stars, I would. I have been using Safeway pharmacies for the last 15 years and have never had an issue like the one I've had during the past week trying to get a prescription filled. The woman with dark black hair is the most unhelpful and unprofessional healthcare "professional" I have ever encountered. When I presented a savings card for a new prescription that my insurance denied I was told, "you did not read the fine print" and that my doctor was wrong. So, before I went back for a second time I called the manufacturer to make sure that my information was accurate and was told that the pharmacy was using the incorrect charge code and to follow the instructions on the savings card. On this trip, I encountered another pharmacist who was more helpful and actually called the number on the card but was unable to resolve the issue due to the manufacturer's help desk being closed and advised me that I should come back the following day. I went back the following day and was met by the dark hair pharmacist who again told me that I did not read the fine print and told me "as I told you before I won't run this savings card," but failed to offer any help or recommendations. When I asked to have my prescription printed to take elsewhere I was told that it was "non-transferable." She did not offer to call the phone number listed on the savings card under the section "instructions for pharmacist" or offer any recommendations to help get my prescription filled. I find this behavior completely appalling and unbecoming of an individual in the patient care field. I would seek other pharmacies to help with your care as this pharmacist is more than willing to play doctor by telling you what prescriptions you can and cannot have and act as legal counsel when it comes to issues she does not want to resolve. Coming from someone who has shopped at Safeway frequently, I will no longer be a patron to your stores and will take my business elsewhere following this encounter. read more

Wow manager Samantha made my day! I bought flowers like I do every Saturday. But this time I bought them from Safeway. The ones I bought died within a day. I called for the manager and they told me to bring them in. I did and totally remembered the managers name because its my daughters name Samantha. Customer service is definitely not a concern at this location. All of the employees don't acknowledge you when you come to the register, that's when you say hello to the customer, lol. Unless I say something first, the only thing the employee at the register says is the total. I had a bizarre and embarrassing experience at this Roseville Sunrise Safeway store. I came into the store after driving a long evening shift for Amazon. I knew the store was open late and I needed to use the bathroom. As I walked to exit the store, an employee named Shira stood in front of me and said she could ring up my purchases at the register. I thought this was odd since the register was not near the store exit and I was not carrying a shopping basket or any store items. I told Shira I wasn't buying anything. Shira then started to become aggressive and in an accusatory tone said, you came into the store and didn't buy anything?? She came closer to me in front of my face, which was already an uncomfortable distance since she didn't have a mask on and I did, and asked me, why did you come in the store then? What were your intentions? Shira interrogated me further and again repeated, so you came into the store and had no intention of buying anything? What are you doing in the store then? At this point I was already embarrassed for being stopped from leaving the store for no reason and I told Shira I came into the store because I needed to use the bathroom. I asked her if she was accusing me of stealing something. She didn't answer the question but instead, just looked me over as if trying to shame me. At this point, I became frustrated for being confronted this way when I had done nothing wrong I and said to Shira this was no way to treat a customer. I asked to speak to a manager and told him about my experience. He showed little emotion or concern for how I was treated but said he would talk to Shira. I left the store but I was very upset. I came back inside and asked for the store manager's name and got information to address my issue to Safeway leadership. The next morning I called the store and asked to speak with the manager, Julie. I was transferred to her voicemail and I left a message briefly describing my experience and asked for a callback. It has been over a week since this incident and I have received no contact from Safeway. As a Safeway customer for over 10 years and a frequent shopper at the Roseville Sunrise store, I am embarrassed and humiliated over this experience. I was shamed and I feel racially profiled since I am a Hispanic male for simply coming into the store to use the bathroom. This kind of treatment is not something I have ever experienced in my life and hope to never experience again. read more

Worst customer service probably should wait until 10 to close self check out I had two items with my son who doesn't act the best sometimes just wanted to use self checkout and leave they said oh sorry we are starting to close them meanwhile have 1 checker open and the person in front of me must've been shopping for the month and had two full baskets! I went to the deli to get some pastrami. The people were very nice, but couldn't figure out how to do 6 ounces on a scale which weighed items in hundredths of a pound. No basic math skills. 12 ounces is 3/4 of a pound. Half of that is 3/8 of a pound. The conversion for 3/8 of a pound is .375. It's just not that hard people. read more

This review is primarily for the floral department, I had to get some flowers for my Grandmothers grave and the person who was working there Saturday afternoon was awesome. She helped me pick the right one out and then even trimmed my flowers, put it in a vase, and put it in a box. It was really nicely arranged. There is another flower shop in Roseville that I used before but they were pretty pricey for the amount of flowers I ordered plus delivery so I opted to stay in the area for flowers. read more

I thought I would give the another chance after 1 no show order. Placed a 3 item order, everythig was confirmed, address, payment,etc. Waited from 12 to 7 pm. Scheduled time was 12-4.
