The Faiway store was my favorite market, but lately something has changed in Sacramento, Theft has caused at least two stores to stop being 24 hours and at my store on Fairway in Roseville stockers were in such a hurry that they almost ran over a senior citizen like me! They are charging illegal sales taxes on grocery items- repeatedly. On at least 5 occasions this year, this store has charged us illegal sales taxes. 4 times, they charge it on edible aloe vera from the produce department and were rude and refused to refund these taxes. Yesterday 6/29/26 they charged illegal taxes when we bought ONLY groceries. It is 0.13 every time. This seems like a scam. We have reported them twice now to the state. This is ILLEGAL to charge us for taxes on groceries. If they are doing this to us 5X, they are doing it to many people, and raking in millions of dollars on illegal taxes that are not owed. Immediately check your receipts. If you bought only groceries, NO SALES TAX CAN BE CHARGED. They are ripping us all off and it is gross. Had they fixed it when we went to them we would not be here. We were in the area and needed a few items and Winco is my hubby's favorite grocery store brand. This grocery store is huge and their prices are affordable. I especially enjoy their "bulk food" items. They have a wide assortment of beans, grains, cereal, and snacks to choose from. The only down side is they accept only cash or debit for payment. read more

Monday night @ 10:15 PM we left to buy bread and croutons at Winco in Roseville. There was 2 checkers and a line that lasted over 30 mins. One poor guy just needed milk. This is no way to treat your customers. It is NOT OK to save labor costs and make your customers wait that long. Deli Section [Roseville CA] For the most part I come here for the Deli Section. They have some pretty good flavored wings. This is an easy contribution for our potlucks at work, we just call it in the day before so that it's ready for next day pick up at 11:00a. We've gotten the 24-pc Fried Chicken and tried the Sweet Chipotle and their Salt & Vinegar flavored wings but my all time favorite is the Lemon Pepper. Prices are cheap and the wings are always a hit in our department. We also get the potato wedges with the chicken. Of the grocery items, I haven't actually gone through the aisles and compared their prices elsewhere. I like that the aisles are clean and wide. I ding one star. I still like WinCo, so a vengeful rating is unwarranted, but dammit, I've had issues as of late, so I gained weight, my heel hurts, and I get exhausted easily. I understand the shopping "scooters" are a provided convenience, and it is great of them to have invested in them for customers. I saw a scooter in the lot, it had low power and died before I got to the door. I see a scooter parked in the store by the power source, and it's dead, and not even plugged in. There always someone sitting on their ass at the self checkout, understandably, they need to watch for scan skippers, but maybe when they see a scooter come in, or go out, call for someone to retrieve it, and keep those things charged. It was the later half of the afternoon. I was able to get my shopping done, painfully hunched over a standard shopping cart, a buggy for you southerners, but my knees and feet were so shot before I could get halfway done. It was torture. WinCo is still the best prices. I thank WinCo for getting the powerful brand of scooters, but they really should keep them up and running; it's a consideration for where I shop. I even tend to avoid places with the underpowered scooters, rated for thin people. I'm working on coming back to good health, but it's embarrassing enough having to use a scooter in my fifties, but it's even worse rolling around hunched over a shopping cart, hurting, with my ass in the air. read more

I love to come to Winco here and there to buy unique products and to save a few bucks on the groceries !! The prices are very affordable here!! They have a lot of unique products that I can't find at other grocery stores like dressings ect .. I'll be surprised of the things I find here and they are very delicious !! Then I get hooked on a certain product and I can't find it nowhere else and I have to come back to Winco to get it again lol ! Let's talk about how affordable things are here I buy MorningStar products at other grocery stores and I could get them here for like half the price that I do at other stores ! You do have to bag your own groceries, but that's pretty much the only difference than other major grocery stores. Everyone that works here seems nice and friendly. They have a little pizza station ! I always say I'm not gonna grab a slice, but I always end up grabbing one lol !! I have loved store #31 in Roseville, California located at 10151 Fairway Drive for over 20 years. My mom loved this store for many years before me! Customer service has always been non existent at this store unless you're dealing directly with a checker. This is one of the nicest WinCo Foods I've visited. Now I'm a very long time dedicated customer. Open 24 hours every day with a fresh bakery and deli. Always a pleasant experience to shop at this employee owned store. Clean and spacious, with an inventory of products that no other stores in the area have available. Prices are extremely competitive and always a real super bargain or two in fresh fruits and vegetables in season, and everything is very fresh. I don't know of any other store in Roseville that has prices that can compete with WinCo. The fresh meat and seafood deli has a great selection, and they have an enormous amount of bulk dried fruits, nuts, and grains to choose from that few stores stock. Just an overall great place to shop. While the prices are discounted, the quality and brand names are premium in every way. If WinCo doesn't have it, you probably don't need it. WinCo has their own store brand foods in just about every department which gives you even further savings. They pass on temporary low prices from suppliers to their customers, too. Custom-made fresh ingredient pizzas are a real bargain and you pick from a large choice of ingredients and crust options. If you want your food dollar to give you the maximum value for money spent nobody beats WinCo. Employees are very customer oriented and glad to help in any way they can. If you haven't visited a WinCo, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have loved this store for years! Great service Great Prices Great Selection! But tonight at 11:00 pm we went into Winco to grab a few things for our upcoming trip and thought we would grab a late night snack and get a donut! Ahhhh, never again! We opened the door to grab a donut and must have waken (what looked like) Gnats that were resting on several donuts. At least 15-20 Gnats started flying around only to land back on the donuts. There were several donuts left and it's obvious that these Gnats did not just get there! Where did they come from? How long have they been in there? Are they growing and laying eggs in the donuts? Needless to say, we did not buy any! I told the checker and the checker that took over as I was about to pay and neither one of them had any sense of urgency! They didn't call anyone over the loudspeaker to come check out what's going on. They didn't call the manager to tell them what was going on. The first lady just went and punched out and the new cashier just smiled at me and said OK. This is totally gross and could be a health hazard if people are eating the donuts, not knowing that Gnats are possibly living inside the container. Again, this is one of my favorite stores to shop at for grocery shopping, but I'm very disappointed in their lack of urgency and the fact that the bakery never noticed these all day long? Did another customer complain and nothing was done? I looked for an email to directly send them this message but no email was listed on-line. Hopefully they see this message. 3 1/2 stars. This is my first time here. On early Saturday morning it was really nice to find such a clean and spacious store. I had to roam around just to see the layout. The staff was friendly and accommodating. So nice to be in a nice environment. Back home in the Bay Area it would be difficult to find. Upon checking out I had to ask a clerk about why my credit cards were being denied. This market doesn't accept credit cards! Who would if known. This was our first and last time to shop this Winco. We were checking out at self-checkout lane. We had an issue with our card and needed an assistant. When we called a guy who was sitting at the "customer service" chair, he rolled his eyes and gave us the "why are you calling me?" look. So rude! This store is close to Costco/Sam's Club and sometimes I like to go there to buy items that I can't buy in bulk. My issue is with the produce section. I don't know why you are comfortable displaying old veggies & fruit. This section of the store has always had its flaws, but lately it seems to be all the way downhill. This is our go to grocery store other than Costco to get the bulk stuff. Never had a bad experience here and the pricing is better than most IMO. We've never had any issues with the food (fresh or otherwise). The staff have always been friendly. Sometimes too friendly, like the time one of them 'kind of' started hitting on my wife but I thought it was funny. So did she. The environment is what you expect of a grocery store but that's not a bad thing. The lines can sometimes get long but that's not because they staff too few check out counters. this is STRICTLY just on the deli department. They are rude and disrespectful!! Elena the MIT(manager in training) "supposedly" said they can't drop wings but then during the summertime. I also came a half an hour before the supposed cut off time and they still told me that there was nothing that could be done. it's supposed to be 8 o'clock that they stop. I have always enjoyed Winco but this location is my favorite in the sac area. It is clean and spacious. I love that there are cart returns after every 5-6 spots in the parking lot so there really should not be any lone carts to hit cars, but alas there are. You come here for great prices. I prefer them over Walmart grocery as some are even cheaper! Just to compare for the same frozen pizza I pay $1.99 Raleys, $1.28 Walmart, and $.98 cents Winco! I usually stock up on my basics here. The produce and meat is competitive but also lower quality. You have to eat the produce within 2-3 days and meat is just eh. Another plus is the huge bulk section that spans from candy, spices, nuts to dog food. I love if I just want a handful, or something new to try that I don't have to buy more than I need. The prices are good too especially the nuts. I ding a star for the sometimes limited selection. The craziness. Not having a 15 items or less line. They are always very busy. Did some grocery shopping here before heading to Tahoe in the winter. This store has really great prices and variety. We focused on the produce and bakery sections. I wish WinCo had locations in Southern California, except it would have to ditch the fluorescent cafeteria lights. A surprise bonus was walking by a pizza section on our way out. I ordered a veggie calzone, and mistakenly thought it was ready to eat but they give it to you prepped to bake at home. We did have it for dinner and, being fresh out of the oven, it tasted great! read more

I shop here pretty much every night. Everyone from the stocking crew to the cashiers are always friendly, helpful and efficient. I just had someone in front of me with a huge cart and the cashier pulled me through and rang me up in a separate lane since I had 3 items. She of course asked the customer in front of me if that was okay and I thanked both of them. I wasn't in a rush and it seems like such a small act, but I have issues with getting my employees to have that type of awareness so I truly appreciate that. Sorry, you pissed me off tonight. I rarely write 1 star reviews, and I even defend places when I see others "weaponize" Yelp and write bad reviews for something stupid... but naw, I'm mad. And as far as I'm concerned, it's legit. I am (was?) a regular late night shopper at this location. It works well with my schedule to to drop by at 2AM. A few people in the night crew know me - I'm always friendly to me, and they were friendly back... asking if I needed help finding things or whatever. Most of them always made a point of at least saying "hi" even though they were busy stocking shelves or whatever. Last night, I tried to drop by at my usual time and saw that they were closed. OK, these are weird times - I get it. I MADE A POINT OF LOOKING AT THE POSTED SIGNS. They clearly said "7AM to 11PM". I wasn't upset then even though I drove 15 mins to get there and 15 mins back home. Weird times, cool, I should be able to make it back down there tomorrow night (which is now tonight). Tonight, I arrived in the parking lot at 10:30 PMish... grabbed my bags, locked the car, walked a bit of a distance to the door and WAS TURNED AWAY by a group of employees with attitude. I questioned things a bit as politely as I could... pointing out that I read the signs the night before and they said "11". Again, weird times... I guess I get the need for a group of employees for protection... and I guess I see the need for some assertiveness from the group... but assertiveness does not mean a-holeness and if you're not going to let people in at 10:30, then YOU NEED TO PUT 10:30 on the sign. I had FIVE things on my list. SIMPLE things than my mom (aged 77) wanted. It would have taken me 10 minutes max to grab those things - as I said above, I know the store. I'm friendly to the crew. I'm no threat to anyone... but now I'm PISSED and wasted TWO TRIPS down and back because YOUR signs are messed up and YOUR mob of employees at the front door were not reasonable. Even AFTER talking to them, I looked down at my watch and said "dude it's 10:32". I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with other shoppers. I'm sorry you've had to change your hours as a result. This could have been managed MUCH better on your end. I am really really pissed, and it takes quite a bit to piss me off. At minimum, CHANGE YOUR SIGNS. I'll probably cool off at some point and update this review because I do like this store... but man, it's going to take me awhile to cool down from this experience. read more
