Stopped by with my family for a quick snack and beers while waiting for our hotel room to be ready in Solvang. I've had their beer before, so I was happy to have it from the source. The beers, as expected, were great! We ordered the tri tip plate and margherita pizza. Those were just okay. Our kids were entertained by the arcade upstairs, which had video games, claw machines, and an air hockey table. There is also an indoor bar area downstairs plus a large outdoor space. Seems like a cool place to have out, and it's very family friendly.

If ever there was a time I wish you could breakdown the star reviews for a business it would be for this experience. Loved the outdoor space. The food from Hudson delicious (that reviews for their page). And then there's the beer and service. This is the reason for the three stars. I don't know a lot about beer so if there's nothing on the menu that sounds familiar aka hazy IPA I need to order a sampler or do a couple tastes. This is the first time to be at a brewery and be told by the grumpy bartender NO only one taste. And since he had already kicked an elderly couple out of the line for being indecisive I rushed to pick. The beer wasn't really my jam, but I didn't want to order a 16oz of something else that I could've really not liked. Really hope that he was just having a bad day otherwise non beer aficionados be prepared.

Hudson Grill inside brewery Great selection of beers Nice outdoor seating with televisions and touch tunes.

Service was great the workers were very kind. The milkshake was buns they put caramel in my cookies and cream milk shake!! The shake was basically just milk and caramel. The tri tip sandwich and onion rings were amazingg!! And the fries were alright so in conclusion if you come here which I recommend just dont get the milkshake.

We held our 20th High School Reunion at Fig. Mtn. after Thanksgiving. The staff was great as always (especially Mikey who was our private bartender on the patio). Everyone loved hanging out by the cozy fire pits & it was the perfect casual atmosphere to catch up with old friends :)

Tuesdays aren't just for tacos! If you haven't tried the nachos at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., then you are missing out. They have the best nachos I've tasted at any brewery hands down. Don't forget to pair their delicious food with one of their refreshing craft beers. The line to order drinks/food moved at a slow pace, but food was out in a decent amount of time. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with games inside (pool, shuffle board) and outside (Jenga, Connect 4, etc.) as well. If you can, highly suggest taking advantage of their HH.

Ambience is great with plenty of outdoor seatings. Bartenders and workers are all super friendly and helpful. The buzzer for my food didn't work so the workers noticed and brought me my food! Also super dog friendly spot. Yay for Fido!

Being locals to the area, my mom and I have been to Figs many times. This particular time we decided to take advantage of the buy one get one beer flight for restaurant week! I was feeling some fruity vibes but also can't resist a stout so I was able to have these tastes accommodated with the beer flight. The lovely people pouring the drinks promptly got to our order so it came out right away. Wanting some food with our flights, my mom and I got an order of chicken tenders with fries. However, we asked for the "crack" sauce on them instead of the usual sauce (per the recommendation of an employee). The order is very large and shareable! The ranch is creamy and goes great on both the tenders and fries. The chicken tenders were hot and had the perfect ratio of chicken to breading. The fries were hot and still had a slight crisp on the outside. It was the perfect meal to have alongside some cold beer. We sat inside, by the beers, to eat our food and there is plenty of decoration to meet the eye. A vibe marked by beer and ranching. Overall, I've always had a great time at Figs with my mom and will continue to come back.

Great outdoor atmosphere. Loaded tots were great. Good service at the bar. Hidden gem in the mountains! Will come back again when I'm in the area!

Fun environment! Plenty of spots to sit around with small or big crowds. Not too many kids but I can see it getting crowded with a bunch. The beer was good. I got a Michelada. The pretzel was yummy too.

Visiting area and did wine tasting and also beer and we came based on wine tasting person. Had a couple of flights. Most of their beers are nice with good flavors. Nice place.

Love this brewery! So cool and family and dog friendly. Great beer! Great space and service. If you like pale ales try the mosaic. Food is great as well!

The owner was really nice and let us come in and explained how to become a member and all that good stuff. It def was a fun Speakeasy cause you don't know it's there unless you know what to look for because as you enter it's just a store that sells beer and snacks and that all. They have different varieties of beer here for purchase as well. As we came in the vibes are so chill not a very big place but enough to come hang with friends and have a beer on tap. They have an outdoor patio with heaters and TV's to catch a game as well. They sell some snacks but you are able to bring your own food which is really neat. Their beer selection was great and just loved every corner and wall of this place. List of history, fun displays and fun souvenirs for purchase. Def coming back here we loved it!

So I ended up just walking a bit farther to find a place to finish up some work on a Friday evening. Enter, Backroom Brewery. It's almost like a nondescript main entrance, like a store front where to go beers are sold. But then real through the store towards the back; voila the bar and patio. The vibe is super chill. There are a multitude of other breweries drafts on tap so that's great. Prices are a tad higher than what I've paid but it's a tourist area so it is what it is. Come check their place out when you get a chance!

But, if you are really a wine geek or just enjoy a more personal low key tasting experience I'd recommend setting up an appt. at the Margerum production facility up in Buellton (behind the Fig Mtn. Brewery). Its not super easy to find and the tasting space isn't huge but we were so blown away by the intimate and personal tasting we had there with our host Lisa M. We learned so much more about Margerum wines and the style of wine-making Doug Margerum prefers than we ever could have otherwise (and he certainly does many things differently that's for sure :-). Very refreshing and quite interesting wines that are definitely to our tastes. Lisa was just amazing and gave us a great run down of the history of the area and the vineyards that the grapes come from as well as Doug's take on the wine-making process. There's no shortage of other good tasting rooms close by so I'd heartily recommend making Margerum's production tasting facility a keystone stop in a Buellton/ Sta. Rita Hill' s tasting swing:-) Thanks Lisa!

(If you sit in the middle of the easternmost dining room you'll have a great view of it.) I've had numerous steaks, their pork chops, lamb, and quail and it's all delicious. Right now I am absolutely in love with their duck. It's really good. The wines here are great as well. They make their own wines, and specialize in Pinot (their Big Circle Syrah is pretty good too). Like many people I heard about it because of the movie Sideways with Paul Giamatti. Despite its notoriety, this place feels authentic and hasn't been over taken by the fame monster...not in the slightest. They just offer great food, great service, and great wines. For all the hype, this place was better than I expected. The patio views out back were sweeping, and I highly recommend coming here when it's still light out (lunch or an early dinner) so you can see what I mean. The views were better than the scenery at some of the winery vineyards in the area. For lunch, I took the recommendation of the worker and got "the best thing on the menu" which was their steak and caramelized onion sandwich. I dont normally order this kind of thing but she convinced me of it and I am glad I listened to her. It was juicy and savory, and the steak was so nicely seasoned. Whenever I've gotten a steak or beef sandwich before usually you have to dip it in au jus bc it's on the dry side, but this was not the case at all here. There was no aioli or sauce to drown out or hide the quality of the meat. It was perfection. We also tried the grilled chicken sandwich which also was beautifully seasoned and slightly blackened and had the juiciest tomato with it. Overall: a very simple lunch but done extremely well, with the best outdoor views in town. As a bonus, birders may appreciate seeing the occasional hawk high overhead or the abundant Blue Jays on the patio. Ample parking on sight.

Until this visit, I've always had a positive impression. Last night, our group purchased drinks from the Sideways Lounge and sat in the outdoor fireplace area. One member of our group was smoking when an employee approached us and rudely told us smoking wasn't allowed there. That wasn't the issue--we would have gladly complied if the policy had simply been explained respectfully. Instead, we were interrupted multiple times while trying to ask why there were no signs indicating the rule. The employee repeatedly responded, "Well, I'm telling you now." He then told us to go outside the fenced lounge area--even into the parking lot--to smoke, despite posted signs stating that alcohol cannot leave the lounge area. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and inconsistent. Businesses absolutely have the right to enforce their policies. Customers should also expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this one interaction overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable trip. After years of staying here and recommending the property to others, I no longer plan to return or recommend Sideways Inn for future golf and wine weekends. I sincerely hope management addresses the customer service issues that led to this experience.
