Here is why you should go here: Pizza and Garlic Cheese Bread. This place blows the doors off of all the other pizza places that I have been to in California. My girlfriend and I got a large pizza with a side order of garlic cheese bread and each got a drink. Our bill was thirty dollars. Which seems pretty fair, but it is better than fair since I also had pizza for lunch, had a piece for dinner, and will probably have some tomorrow. This is because each piece is like 2 pieces anywhere else. And whether it is brand new at your table, heated up at home, or cold, this pizza is good 100% of the time. Now in regards to the spaghetti I have to say, What? Did you miss the first thing I said? You order pizza and garlic cheese bread. The end. You don't need to worry about the Spaghetti, or anything else because you are ordering a pizza here. Like, when you go to In N Out do you order a fish sandwich? No, because they don't sell it and that wouldn't make sense. So just pretend the entire menu is pizza, garlic cheese bread, and drinks, and you will never go wrong. Like ever. Down below I read that someone wasn't satisfied with the view out the window. Well, if that person had ordered the pizza they would have been too busy staring at it to notice anything else. The only criticism I can give is that they don't offer unlimited refills. You only get one. Been coming here since the location was up in Jamul center near Jamul Liquor. Steve (manager) runs a tight ship and, as a result, the food is always consistently good. 2nd bad experience in the last 3 weeks: Just picked up 2 pizza's 30 min ago. My wife brought it home and my family and I grab 3 slices to eat and ate half of each slice and stopped immediately. The dough was either old or under cooked. Honestly inedible. I called it in right away and spoke to a gentleman and explained the situation. He asked what I wanted to do and I asked for a refund. He asked that I bring it in to inspect the pizza before he felt it was worthy of a refund. I asked to send him pics instead of wasting my time inspecting it and the possibility of him saying sorry this is how it's supposed to look. He insisted I would have to come in and he would not give me a number nor email to send the pics too. This was a very sad experience. I told him he could keep my money and not to worry about it the refund. I don't need to beg someone to give me my money back. If there hurting for business that bad I'll consider it a donation. And that's after observing my brother's fatass, my soon to be BIL's fatass, and my own fatass getting full off one slice! [sorry, love you guys :) ] Living in Jamul, you don't have too many local options, but Filippi's is always one of our GoTo local spots. We always order some lasagna, because it is so good here. It is served with a giant bread roll. Another family favorite is the Fit for a King pizza, basically everything's on that bad boy. The green salad is nothing special and kinda pricey for what you get. We most recently made a phone order for pick up around 8pm on a Friday night. We got a medium cheese, a large custom pizza, and an order of lasagna and it was all ready for pick-up in 20 minutes. Not too shabby for a Friday night. If you've always lived in Jamul, you def. know Filippi's from their old location at the corner of Proctor Valley. If you're a newbie like me, you will become very familiar with their new freestanding building, that has plenty of parking. I haven't had any order screw-ups in the year I've been ordering from here. Unbelievable......Went last night. Ordered a large (2 to 6 people) antipasto salad. They brought a small overflowing plate of salad. They buried the (small shovel's) errr spoons in the bottom of the bowl. and to retrieve the spoons half the salad ended up on the table instead of our Salad plates. Best pizza for your money's worth! I grew up with Filippi's thankfully, and have never ever had a bad experience with their pizzas. I have ventured out and tried many other pizza shops and franchises and can tell what is quality and what is not. From time to time i would grab Pizza Hut (yes I am ashamed I know) for a cheap bite. But would never have the satisfaction as I received with a Filippis pizza. I have tried Da Boyz in Rancho San Diego, Little Ceasers, Papa Johns, and many others (local, far, and out of state). Always find myself going back to Filippis. Not just because i grew up with it, but it tastes authentic. If I order a large pizza i am getting my money's worth. I may only finish 2 slices, but i can take home the rest, wrap them up, heat up the next day, and they will still have that taste from when it was ordered at the resturant. My first job was a dishwasher at Filippi's Jamul. I saw how the pizza was made, how the sandwiches were made, all of it. The pizzas are made from scratch, with a perfect & light tomato sauce, covered with plenty of toppings (if ordered) and real cheese. The bread for the sandwiches is the same dough as the pizza. Sandwiches and salads are arranged as they woukd be at home, of course Filippi's has all the necessary fixings for their signature sandwiches. Lasagna and spaghetti tastes like homestyle cooking. Bring friends here all the time, and have never never never had a friend complain. Just took two recently and i didn't even have to ask them. They tore up the pizza right in front of me, and are looking forward to trying more pizza and trying other lasagnas and dishes. Quality! read more

I have been a Filippis customer for 54 years, starting in Little Italy and then thrilled to continue when we moved to Jamul several years ago. For us, there's no comparison. It's simply the best pizza. The cheese, pepperoni, sauce and crust all make it great. Unfortunately Jamul pizza is not as consistent and crust is too thin. Have tried thick crust but then it's too thick. Tried Med and Lg but didn't help. We will continue to be loyal, we love our Filippis and there's nothing even close to comparison. Most of the time I like thin crust, but every once in awhile, I want the thick, gooey, cheesy deliciousness of a thick slice of pizza and that's what I got. The food is bad. The pasta I ordered looked like it had been sitting in water for an hour. When I went to pick up a rigatoni noodle with my fork, it cut right through the middle. It took my group an hour to pay for our food because their system is so antiquated that they had to re-write all of our orders down individually and add them up manually. Despite all of this, I tipped 20% because the teenager serving us was sweet. While reviewing my bank statement I noticed this location double charged my card (almost $100). I called to ask if they could explain the extra charge and refund the correct amount. The girl who answered the phone said she found my order but that I would need to show them my receipt to get a refund. I live over two hours away and was never given a receipt... She then proceeded to just repeat that I need to show them my receipt until the manager got on the phone and said "what do you want like 30 bucks? I don't have a calculator on me, I'm in the back." After 30 minutes and giving them my card details on the phone (super unprofessional), they agreed to give me a refund. Let's hope I actually get it. read more

No stars if I could. Literally the third or rourth time I've tried to help out this local business especially during this pandemic and they failed again. Biggest problem, The manager "Amy"! She was a total bitch with both my wife and I on the phone and offered a .85 cent credit for ranch dressing.Their lack of effort to treat a customer nicely as well as to make it sound like its our fault that they mess up every to go order sucks. Have been coming here for sometime since the downside of service in Santee Everyone on Staff here be it Hosts, cooks, servers are always Super Friendly fast to take care of everyone. Family Combo with 2 meatballs can not be beaten for the price and we always take home left overs but the service is great Our server Aimee we asked for and she always delivers with the best service not that we do not get great service when we do not have her. The 1 is for customer service not the food, we love their pizza, salads, meatballs etc.. From the moment you walk in, you are not greeted with welcome how can we help you, it's more like a blank stare and aanoyance. The severs are generally pretty up beat and positive unless you want something quick. Today we were starving and after the girl at the front reluctantly sat us, we told her we are starving and she replied with "I'm not your server so I can't help you", this is the same girl that was irritated the week before when I asked for an itemized receipt on my to go order and the week before that, we asked her if any of the original Dephillipi's worked there, she looked at us like we were from another planet, shrugged her shoulders and shook her head because she had no idea who we were talking about. After sitting there for 10 minutes, my husband got up and asked for our server, she came, took our order and was very pleasant but annoyed that we were asking for quick service because of our hunger level. She let me know she had other tables to wait on (I think there was 5 or 6 tables total that had patrons and there were 3 servers there) and she would do what she could for us. Lunch was great (again this review is not about the food), we get the bill and to go boxes for our left overs. There was $1.40 charge on my bill that I hadn't seen before (we order the same thing every time give or take a soda) while my husband is finishing up go I go the front to ask about the charge and pay the bill. I am told by the server it's for salad dressing (I like ranch and Italian mixed) and I explain I've never been charged for this in the past. She says I can talk to the manager and see what they say, of course I'm fine with this thinking that the manager will be a reasonable person and we can clear this up. Well let me say this, I see why the staff is the way they are, I think he beats them into submission. He was one of the rudest, unkind people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting and the front counter girl was just as rude and unpleasant as he was. He argued with me, told me that is what they charge and there was no way they were removing it from my bill, I explained to him that I have not been charged this in the past (upon reviewing my to go order the previous week, I was actually charged $1.70 for the dressing), that the server should let us know of the charge so we would not have been surprised by it. They both snapped at me and said it's on the menu (I didn't see it) and that was that. I paid my bill, left a tip and will now have to decide if their food is something I can live without. That man who runs this location is mean and nasty, I feel he rules with negativity and those who work there are afraid of him. I love Filippi's....but not this one. I called 30 mins before going to pick up my pizza, and when getting there it still wasn't ready after being told it'll be ready in 20 mins. I didn't really care about that because I know and understand quality takes time. The pizza was expensive, more than the other locations, and when I got back home walked from the car to the house, it felt as if the pizza was going to fall through the box. I was pretty excited thinking this because that means the pizza must be stacked with toppings MMMMM. Surely, the pizza was not stacked with anything but cheese and OIL. The box was being drenched in oil and was about to rip open the bottom and have the pizza fall out. There was no sauce on my pizza, just cheese and toppings, and the oil was WAY too much. My picture shows that. I felts disgusting after eating it, as if I ate a stick of butter, and washed that down with vegetable oil.
