I'd say the food was mediocre, atmosphere was good. Turn AC on. Although a Steelers fan, probably won't go back.

We were seated on the covered patio, which has wonderful water and golf course views. Our server was friendly and fast. We had the beer cheese appetizer, which was average. The pretzels were great....the beer cheese tastes bland. I had the mahi tacos, which were incredible and my husband had the Rothleschild burger which he liked. We were arrived shortly after noon and were told I can't put anymore breakfast orders in. We went out of our way for breakfast and were disappointed when she said they'd kill her if sue put in any more breakfast orders. Place is too small. Expand. They have tables in front of doors so every time someone opens door you get hit with a wall of heat or cold. Get bigger tables. For four people the table was crowded, we could not eat with out elbowing the person next to us. Food is good. Service is ok. But check on us a little more. View is good. read more

We sit out in the patio overlooking the beautiful golf hills and lake. My family and I have also enjoyed their other menu items as well. I really love what they've done for Beacon Ridge Country Club in Seven Lakes West. The dinning room has always been elegant, however Filly & Colts makes every meal and buffet offering special. Great food, nice ambiance and great for group events, big and small. Should have written this long ago, because I've been there many times. I've never been disappointed by the food in the restaurant dining room, and the portions are large. They have a ballroom suitable for formal events or business conferences, and a separate conference room for smaller groups and events. Having planned some events, myself, I found them to the best value, by far, in the county. They were always accommodating and helpful with needs that inevitably pop up, and didn't charge for the extra services, unlike the Pinehurst Resort and other venues that charge for EVERYTHING. The buffets have all been very good. Obviously, I will keep going back. read more

Went there with a group from the "Newcomers of the Pinehurst". I didn't count but I'm assuming there was at least 40 people in the group. The staff was wonderful. They were kept very busy with this many people however they were extremely happy and helpful. I ordered the BLT and it was good. Our first and last experience with Filly & Colts. Worst pizza we've ever had. We made the mistake of not checking our take out order until we arrived back at home which was 20 minutes away, but the reviews lead us to believe this was a good place to eat. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni, peppers and mushrooms and then a plain cheese pizza. Both were so burned you couldn't tell if there was any cheese because it was brown and black. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but I simply must in this case. Filly and Colts hosted an absolutely superb event for a memorial service I asked them to do for my mother. I wanted top notch everything and it was 100% delivered. I cannot emphasize how appreciative I am in what they did to make this an incredible event. The staff was lovely, the layout worked perfectly, but the food really stood out. There is no question I was demanding and probably a thorn in their side before this event as every detail mattered tremendously to me, but they nailed it on every level. They had food presented in every corner of each room and it was all wonderfully displayed, very thoughtful and incredibly delicious. We had beef tenderloin and trimmings at a carving station, rotisserie chicken quartered and presented on a giant oak board, potatoes au gratin, three pasta salads, a huge green salad presented in a drum with various side options, deviled eggs, tea sandwiches with various fillings, a massive charcuterie platter with fruit, cheeses and sausages, crudités platters, caprese skewers, a gorgeous shrimp cocktail display, several drink stations and an entire desert area with a huge variety of sweets that were absolutely wonderful. I am a foodie from Seattle. My mom meant the world to me. I wanted the best and they absolutely delivered. Karen is the manager there and she worked tirelessly to make this event beautiful for my family and friends. I will feel forever grateful that this was the sendoff I could give her. Decided to give it a try since they just opened at Little River and I have to say we were impressed. Atmosphere was nice along with the decor but most important the food was delicious. The bone in ribeye was awesome and cooked to perfection and I had the skirt steak which I could cut with a fork. The flavors were outstanding and so was the service, unfortunately we were to full to try desert so we will next time we will definitely be recommending to friends and family give it a try read more

It's nice having another choice for breakfast in the area, but this wasn't what I expected of a buffet. Much smaller than I anticipated. I found the bacon to be way overdone...crumbled in my hands. The omelette and waffle stations are a nice touch. The setting is nice-pretty and peaceful. Overall, I felt like I was at a hotel's free breakfast, except I paid for this. There's plenty of potential. I'll return to try the brunch and dinners in the future, which could have me completely revising my review. Time will tell. read more

I went two years ago for Thanksgiving buffet, I loved it then and they were at Long leaf Country Club. Decided to go back and had no idea they moved...I was expecting the same quality I had before. I was disappointed. The food for the most part was "good" but they really lacked in some areas (changing out the gunked up serving utensils would have been nice also) not to mention it increased to $30 per person!! Definitely not worth that! The fish was dried out and small. No normal veggies like PEAS or CORN. No Mac n Cheese. Rolls were so so. No salad of any kind. Pies were par.....the giant dining room lacked the quaint atmosphere that Long Leaf had. Wont be going back could have cooked my own for $60+ and did it better. read more

Most of all, I took serious offense to the cook using her unprotected hands to scoop up the cheese and mushrooms when preparing our omelets. Does the board of health know about this? This Longleaf Country Club restaurant is open to the public. I am told it is under new management ( in the last 6 months or so) and if you haven't been there in a while, give it another try. We have been there twice in the last two weeks and couldn't be happier. The food and service is great. The scenic setting to this lovely location was a pleasant surprise. The wait staff was very welcoming as we entered the restaurant. A nice view of a fountained pond was our view. The cocktails were very good. The special was Prime Rib which my husband had. It was a nice portion and cooked to perfection. The ribs were a big hit with our friends. We had the buffet which had breakfast and lunch, my husband and I started with lunch of grilled chicken with herbs, salmon, corn, green beans and pasta salad. A lot of other foods were available we didn't choose them. Our choices were very good. For dessert we choose to have a Belgian waffle and topped it with Blueberry compote. It was outstanding. We visited this restaurant and tried the pan grilled root vegetables. The serving size was adequate but while the food was served hot all of the vegetables were under cooked and very hard. A VERY disappointing dinner: we made reservations 24 hours in advance for 8 people --- so they had plenty of advance notice that we were coming --- not many people in the dining room ---- they did not have any vegetables (even tho they were on the menu) --- they ran out of the soup of the day --- fried chicken was overdone (almost burned, actually) -- Chicken Oscar on menu said: chicken, béarnaise sauce, crab and asparagus (as afore mentioned, they had no asparagus) --my tenderloin with masala wine sauce was good --- that is, until I found a piece of plastic in the dish ----- probably would have felt better about the evening if Chef had come out of the kitchen and addressed the obvious problems --- bills were not adjusted even though meals were incomplete because of the shortage of vegetables and soup ---- Wish them well, but suspect that none of the 8 of us will go back !! read more
