This thing is an absolute flavor bomb. Stopped into Roast Sandwich Market in Moore County and ordered the General Tso Chicken on gluten-free bread and... wow. First bite I got the hit of fresh cilantro and crunch from the peanuts, then straight into that crispy chicken--perfectly fried on the outside and still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet, tangy, a little sticky, and so good it should probably come with a warning label. The gluten-free bread held up like a champ under all that goodness, which is a small miracle considering how loaded this thing is. Fair warning: you're going to need extra napkins. It's messy, it's drippy, and it is 100% worth every saucy fingerprint. Service did take a hot minute, but we landed right at noon on a Saturday, so the place was slammed. Even with the wait, I'd order this sandwich again in a heartbeat. If you're anywhere near Moore County, do yourself a favor and get the General Tso Chicken at Roast. Your taste buds will thank you--your shirt might not, but that's what napkins are for. read more

Went here on a Saturday. It was really busy but our wait was not long. Food came out fast. They have outside seating, accommodating for pets. You order and then they bring your food out. I had a sandwich and they were really accommodating to remove the chicken and replace with another protein. Priced well and portions are good. Amazing food! Think gourmet sandwich place meets southern, southwestern, and Asian influences. My go-to is the GENERAL TSO'S BAHN MI. Exceptional! Juicy chicken with the tastiest, tender pork belly cooked to perfection. Acidity and sweet are in harmony in this dish. The jalapeño adds a little heat to such a flavor packed dish. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. If you're counting carbs, ask for it breadless in a bowl, this will not disappoint. Other favorites include brisket and pulled pork. The environment is clean and well tended. We enjoy the caricature paintings on the walls with celebrities sitting on sundry sandwiches. Look for The Office and even PeeWee. Service is prompt and friendly. Don't hesitate to chat, as they make time amid the business to get to know you. Very sincere people. I highly recommend this establishment. One of the best spots in Moore County. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. Favorites include the General Tso's Banh Mi, and all of the wraps. The ramen is great too. Service is always prompt and courteous. Great spot to eat in or take out. read more

My sister and I stopped in to the Roast in Southern Pines or Pinehurst near Harris Teater. I had the most delicious beef brisket sandwich that I have ever had. Normally I dont like brisket because its never tender BUT this sandwich was the juiciest most tender brisket I have ever eaten. I lived it. I highly recommend this place. I cant stop thinking about it and will for sure go there again. read more

First time going to Roast in years. I got nuggets and sweet potato tots. I was sadly disappointed. The nuggets were so tough I couldn't bite into them and the tots were underdone I had to throw them in the air fryer.. maybe it was an off night. Staff was nice and inside looked clean. read more

Ummmm... $24 for a panini, sweet potato tots, and watered-down tart lemonade (includes $3 tip)? Nope. Not again. Front staff was helpful. If you know me, you know I'm a positive person & I don't like posting negative reviews, but todays visit sorely disappointed. Store boasts "#1 new restaurant ". It took 20 minutes for my food after the normal lunch rush hour- there really were only two people there: me & another patron. By the way: who puts lettuce on a panini? Ew- wilted lettuce. High reviews here are primarily over 6 months ago. "Will you try the place again?" If a friend suggests it, yes, because I didn't get sick; however, I won't be the person to suggest it. read more

Roast offers fantastic vegan/vegetarian options in an area where this can be quite limited. I have enjoyed trying various items on their menu such as the vegetarian bahn mai sandwich and the Thai crunch salad. The staff is always very friendly and I've always had a great experience. I stopped by for the first time since they opened. Didn't go before because reviews were not good. As I walked in about 5 PM I noted the floors and tables were dirty from the lunch crowd. I ordered a brisket sandwich and wedge fries to go. I was looking forward to the sandwich. First, the brisket was in chunks on the sandwich with some as large as 1 x 2 ". It was dry and bland. I could eat only one or two bites, wrapped it back up and it went in the garbage can. Thank goodness the fries were hot and crispy or I would have starved. I was so disappointed because I paid over $20 for a dinner I could not eat. Won't go again. read more

Wow. I've had their food twice now and am floored by their customer service and quality. The first time was delivered to my home and soooo good. (The pulled pork on Brioche ) and they knew enough about allergies to call and discuss an order for my dairy allergic son. They went out of their way to accommodate him and I'm so grateful. Today we stopped in for lunch and I had the Ramen. It was SO good. The smokey pork belly and amazing broth.... oh man. My 4 year old said it's his favorite restaurant ever, because he got little tiny pickles with his meal. He looooved it. We will be back way too frequently read more

Amazing!!!! Along with the incredibly nice people who work here to the owner who puts in the work, this place has earned the right to be called amazing! Now for the food! (Of which I can still taste 24 hours later!) In the area fixing an airplane at Moore County Airport, my coworker and I decided to give this place a try and we were far from disappointed! (The first time!) BARBACOA TORTA DIP Achiote Smoked Pork, Refried Bean Spread, Chihuahua Cheese, Pickled Red Onion and Served with a side of Chorizo Guajillo Braising Jus on a Sesame Seeded Baguette With their amazing Hand-cut fries! After wrapping up the work we had at the airport we were able to get in for one last run at Roast and wanting to try more of their amazing menu selections we were satisfied yet again! THE STEAK HOUSE BLACK ANGUS BRISKET Spoon Tender Brisket, Sharp Provolone, A.1. Horseradish Crema, Roasted Red Peppers, Pepperoncini on a House Baked Sesame Seeded Baguette Again, With their amazing Hand-cut fries! Ghost pepper and garlic pickle! This time the owner recognized us and with appreciation for us to return he brought over two of their homemade desserts and blew our socks off yet again! After finishing our meals I headed to wash up and got to talking to the owner. This is where I learned just how much care and thought had gone into developing the amazingly curated menu and meats they offer. As I told him if I had local connections to properly raised livestock and vegetables I would absolutely be interested in offering towards buying into this promising franchise! You will love it! This place has excellent service and food! We were first time visitors and the girl working the counter was super friendly and helpful. If you're in the area this place is a definite must try! I've lived in more than 6 states, traveled from one country to the next, attended food truck conventions, and I can honestly say I have never been to a sandwich shop where you can actually taste the freshness of the vegetables and meat. I actually got full off the first half of the sandwich cause it was so filling! It's a locally owned restaurant that just recently opened but branded like it's a chain (which I have no doubt they will be in the very near future) the owners are extremely kind and I can honestly say we will be coming back for more! First time coming here and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the friendliness of staff. Asked for their recommendation on what to order and decided on the General Tso chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the chicken ramen. I was a little hesitant since you don't usually see options like that do well in this area, but they did it right and with a smile. The staff was friendly and efficient as this is a popular place. The line was out the door when I left. For ice cream, they have both Hershey's flavors and homemade flavors. The sundae got my attention as I saw others eating them as I walked in and they looked good. I enjoyed my sundae and will remember to come back here again.

Great place for health conscious macro conscious types! The food here is amazing. I could eat here every day of the week and not get tired of it. True farm to table. Everything is fresh and made to order. Probably one my most favorite lunch spots I've ate at in recent memory. Whoever created the menu really understands flavor and flavor pairings. The ultimate falafel is delicious. The chicken wrap equally as delicious. The brisket is also great although I only took a bite, which the cook was nice enough to let me try. I also had the protein salad as well. Get the The basil dressing with it its great. The pasta salad and the maple apple slaw as well! So good. Also the chicken is perfectly cooked! Just love this spot and will come back again and again because it's that good. The people working here are also very friendly so the service is excellent! Great ambiance as well with both inside and outside seating. A drive through as well!! Well done ROAST! Please consider opening one up on the Raleigh market. Y'all would find great success in that area---or any area really! read more

They did offer to remake them but I had already been waiting a while so I asked for gravy on the side which had onions it...go figure. Well they didn't have much flavor and neither did the cabbage. The fried green beans were just ok as well. I like the hush puppies and the cake the most. My meal was $20 and I tossed all but the cake and hush puppies.
