We went here for the first time Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. The restaurant is easy to get to and they have a parking lot next-door. The dining room connected to the pizzeria is beautifully decorated with chandeliers, ceramic tile and black-and-white photos of I believe family members from Italy. The menu Has many different choices for everyone, including the wine list. The food was very fresh and very big portions. You definitely get your moneys worth. We came here to eat after my daughter's award ceremony at school . It is a typical pizzeria restaurant with a medium size dining room. We were told to sit anywhere. Decent size menu with reasonable pricing , food was all fresh to order and extremely Hot when it came out. Heard good things about this place and while the pizza selection is pretty unique here, I have a problem with being ignored by both the owner with an attitude and counter guy because of a large party going on in the other room. Also, guys try to get a handle on the flys that are trapped in your display case. read more

I gave them a second chance after the first time the food wasn't good. I figured bad night. Ordered a big dinner to go. Drove 20 minutes to get it and they put the fried calamari in a box and don't tell us. Never have we seen this done. Just randomly thrown in a box. Then the owner doesn't want to accept the fact that he did something stupid. We've been eating fried calamari for 20 years and it's been in a container. I wanted a credit. He refused to credit my card. The food spilled because no one told us it was boxed. They put the the Caesar salad in with the hot food and ruined that. Save your money. read more

We really loved Mangia! The service was some of the best we have ever experienced. Very warm and inviting, making us feel at home, yet not overbearing. Just perfect. We sat outside and the neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. We told the waiter we didn't eat meat and they made our food to order: broccoli with cavatelli and broccoli raab with orecchiette (both without chicken stock), but they still had great flavor, loads of veggies and garlic and were cooked perfectly. The special (vegetarian) complementary bread that they bring out before the meal is just....well you have to go to experience it. Delicious. Can't wait to go back. read more

Every single style of pizza I've tried has been fantastic.. the crust is perfect, not too doughy, nice crunch and taste. The sauce is amazing and the cheese is top quality . I absolutely love the Old fashioned with olives and onion, Sicilian pie.. probably one of the top pies I've ever had in my life.. I rarely Yelp but I got to say I was extremely impressed with mangia so would love to support. You walk into a pizzeria and the back is a cute restaurant. They start you off with some of the best bread I ever had at a restaurant, hot focaccia bread and a garlic bread. We got zucchini sticks as an app..delicious. Their eggplant pizza was also sooo good. Service was also great, our waitress was very nice and attentive . A little out of way in tottenville but worth the trip. Can't wait to go back and try some entrees !! read more

I ordered calamari with lemon wine sauce and it had an overwhelming fishy taste along with being soggy. The calamari was also soggy and was like chewing on a piece of rubber. Man this is a hidden gem. Everything my family has tried from here is outstanding. Plain pizza is the best in the area, blows away the "other" spot on Amboy Rd. Wings, pasta dinners, etc are all delicious. A friend suggested the "breadcrumb pie" and wow it did not disappoint! The gentleman who I believe is the owner (there all the time) is extremely polite, and actually says "thank you" when you pay. He appreciates your business which is rare these days. So turns out I've been ordering from Mangia for lunch at school because they delivered! Everything I ate was delicious! When I found out they did so well & expanded into an actual restaurant, we had to go check it out! It's a really cute spot in Tottenville! They had our table ready for us on a Friday night & our water/bread was already on it...which was good this time because we were starving! However, they are very quick, so it's not good if you want to sit, talk & digest before each course! Also even though you really don't need reservations, I'd call ahead, especially during Covid! The bread was flat with parmigiana & oil...since that was so tasty, we had to start with a pizza! We made our own everything pie lol. It was sooo good! We had to wrap some up, otherwise we wouldn't have room for our actual meal. I ordered the homemade gnocchi & almost finished the whole plate, but saved some for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the meat lasagna but they brought him the eggplant lasagna instead...he knew it didn't taste right, plus he hates eggplant! Lucky for me, eggplant is my favorite & I couldn't decide between that & the gnocchi. Guess what? Since they already made it & didn't want it to go to waste...they let us take it home free of charge!!! Now that's good business! I ate it over the next two days! It was excellent!!!
