This spot is a hidden gem! I visited in a week night and it was so easy to get a table. The service was also very quick. The ambiance was nice: on the dimmer side, nice decorations. Came for gender reveal party, I've never been here and this was my first time attending a gender reveal party so it was a memorable day. The restaurant was closed for this event so my review will be strictly on the food. There was a buffet of chicken wings, duck, egg rolls, spring rolls, a few different salads and a noodle dish. Came on a Friday night around 6:30pm with reservations but surprisingly wasn't busy! Started to pick up though as we were finishing up. The inside was super cute and had a lot of seating. Relatively newer spot on Polk that is really beautiful inside and hopefully becomes more popular! They have a great variety of Thai dishes that are pretty authentic and can be very spicy. I think they have great happy hour deals until 7pm which is later than most on Polk so I've really enjoyed coming for that. Good wine and beer selection and appetizers on that menu. I been to Fin Thai over 10 times already and I am so happy finally a good Thai restaurant is in the neighborhood. Outside of my favorite place for Thai food in the city, Fin Thai makes an amazing Tom Yum. Creamy and full of flavor, just like Thailand. Most places just don't do it right. I also love their pork shoulder dish with dipping sauce and pork should salad. Tender and full of Thai spices. When I just want to order one item, my go to is the Thai basil chicken, fried egg over rice. Never disappoints. The restaurant is clean, vibrant and roomy. I would say that Fin Thai probably takes home the title of my favorite Thai restaurant in SF. Visited on a Saturday night with 3 of my other friends and I really loved the interior of the restaurant. It was full of nice decor and super spacious. The staff here were great and provided pretty speedy service. The food definitely lived up to the hype. We started off with the chicken satay and spring rolls. I loved their presentation of the dishes and how much flavor the peanut sauce for the satay had especially. Amazing modern Thai restaurant! If you were in Bangkok eating a modern Thai place, this is exactly how it would be. Chef/owner Kobe and their staff is amazing at executing their dishes. Everything was very flavorful and reminds me exactly of food in Thailand. Service is great and everyone is very attentive. Decor is amazing inside. Personally, i would pick this place over Farmhouse and OSHA. I don't get the hype on Farmhouse. Must haves at this place are the Wing Sap, steamed fish, and duck curry. Stumbled across this modern Thai restaurant restaurants on NYE and decided to give it a shot (During happy hour). I understand that the price point for restaurants on Polk street is pretty high, just a bit disappointed by the food that we received. The flavors were ok, nothing to write home about, and the individual dishes themselves were a bit difficult to eat. We ordered the grilled squid and the naked shrimp $8 each from the happy hour menu. The portion size was very small, but the naked (raw) shrimp with its house crack sauce is quite unique so that was somewhat worth the $8! The morning glory veggies, were just alright, and felt very difficult to justify its price point ($17) For entree, we got the duck curry ($29). Had to order sticky rice separately ($4) for the curry, but it came in a very small fist size portion size, and wasn't enough to eat along with the curry. Otherwise we thought the duck was well seasoned, and the duck portion size was generous. The curry was very creamy and had a nice kick, but wish there was more complexity. We also got the river prawn tum yum ($39). While visually impressive, i personally felt that getting down and dirty to crack the prawns open detracted away from the experience of enjoying the soup. Otherwise, the soup tasted how Tom yum should taste like. One last thing is that the general user experience was weirdly very frustrating. We got sat in one of those small middle tables, where it felt like a Tetris game trying to fit our dishes onto the table, and it was very hard to maneuver around while eating. The lighting was also so incredibly dim, so much so that we had to stack the table lamp on top of our sticky rice container to be able to see our food. read more

A cozy Thai spot with a good happy hour menu! Our waitress was very kind and seated us immediately. This would be a really cute date spot because of the dim lighting and fun atmosphere. We ordered the papaya salad, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, and the prawns. I would skip on the prawns because while they were huge, it's not a lot of meat and a bit underwhelming in taste. Happy hour bites. I've come for happy hour more than a few times now. Their current deal of 6$ draft beer and 9$ wines is great for this part of Polk. Their HH for food does have some smaller portions but the food itself is great. The flavors really pop and even though some are spicy the flavor still shines through. Fin Thai has recently jumped up to the top of the list when it comes to my favorite Thai spots in SF. I've eaten in a few times and it's very cute inside - they decorate it like it's a beach cabana. Definitely get the spicy red chili catfish- it's the best dish we've had there! It's crispy bite sized pieces of catfish in a chili sauce - not that spicy but super flavorful and the fish is cooked perfectly. The river prawn tom yum is good too- it comes with like 5 massive prawns and they give you gloves to help get the meat out. The broth was addictive. The stir fried river prawn with garlic was quite good too- I liked the garlic sauce. Seafood is the best choice here as that's their specialty! read more

Really enjoyable ambience and service with authentic, well-seasoned dishes. The interior is decorated with a tropical feel that's immersive without being gimmicky. Halfway through our meal, the staff turned down the lights and brought small table lamps to all of the tables which was a nice touch. The food was great. My favorite with the Tom yum chicken soup. I was expecting bland, watered down soup, but it was rich and well-seasoned with a nice kick of heat. We also ordered the spicy basil chicken (but substituted duck) and the morning glory (so rare to find good morning glory!). Both were great. Extremely so for the rice that came with green curry; rice was packed in a normal to-go container which gave the impression that it was a normal size portion. Menu is pretty small I'm comparison to competitors, but overall selection was half expected and half special with things one normally do not see at a Thai restaurant. For example, instead of the usual coconut milk Thai shrimp or chicken soup, theirs was with clams. Instead of papaya salad with shrimp, theirs was with raw blue crab. Overall food was authentic and delicious. Service was a tad slow. Drinks was limited to cocktails but with sake and soju and small selection of wine. Ambiance was spacious, clean and nice. There were two people working and they effectively and efficiently serviced the entire restaurant, which was fairly busy, and still managed to take care of each table with care.
