Finca Casablanca has been here for a while. It has changed hands a few times. The food is OK. It used to be better.

This is a traditional, full-service hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant offering delicious food at fair prices. You know you're at an authentic Mexican restaurant when they bring you a bowl of pickled carrots and onions along with your chips and salsa while waiting for your food. Everything here is homemade and tastes fresh and delicious!

The food is good here. They have great enchilada Swiss. German is one of the owners and he is a great server too. The ambience is cool and clean on a summer day.

Been driving past this place on my way to the dog park until one day I decided to stop; glad I did. Tastefully decorated in a classic Mexican style, it imparts a comfortable and welcoming feel, complete with just the right kind of music to almost make you feel like you're in Mexico. I noticed the specials board on my way in and the Lobster burrito caught my eye so thought I would try it; $20 included rice and beans. The lobster was tasty and delicate and clearly the star of the show, sharing the spotlight with beans, pico de gallo, and a creamy butter sauce, with a flour tortilla holding it all together. The rice and beans accompanied the dish nicely. I paired the meal with a cold Modelo Especial, clearly authenticating the entire experience. Finally, fast, friendly service casting an exclamation point on a relaxed and enjoyable lunch, so much so that I just might return, but next time with the family!

Checked this place out after a hike and wow. Great service and the portions are more than fair. I had the ranchero burrito my friend had the enchiladas and both were amazing on flavor and presentation. My soda cup was never empty for long and everyone there was super nice. The salsa and chips on the house were a nice added touch. Will be coming back for the breakfast menu.

Great service, delicious mango margarita, the tomatillo salsa is to DIE FOR and the refried beans and chips were flavorful. Don't miss this! You might , because it's tucked away but we stumbled across it by chance and did not regret it!

An average Mexican food place now that could use some better management or attention to important details. Oddly enough, with the fancy name change came a drop in quality. A step back for sure. It was La Casa Blanca before, now known as Finca Casa Blanca. We've never thought it was 5 star level, but it was worthy before after at least 3-4 times. The micheladas have been made well. On our last visit, I ordered the pork chile verde platter. I wanted the corn tortillas, but the waitress had to come back and tell me that the last corn tortillas were being used for my wife's plate of mole enchiladas. So, I was given the flour tortillas instead. It was 630 pm. The restaurant I believe was closing at 900. Why did they run out? Poor planning I would call it. Also, we both felt that most of if not all items on our plates were re-heated in the microwave. The reason we suspected this is because of some items were hotter than others on the plate. I know this because I have the same problem at home sometimes! Just a little tweaking and possibly this place could be up to par again. I will give them some time to improve and see the outcome as I don't plan on giving up on the place entirely. The service has always been very friendly and good, which makes me want to return eventually. Though I might think hard about it first.

Went here before we head to a candlelight concert at Mt Helix park. Servers were friendly. It looks like a family run place. The place looks like they have buffet available. The place is a typical hole-in-a-wall restaurant the packs a punch in flavor. I always like trying places like this because I havent been disappointed yet. I had the flautAs and it was delicious. It came with rice and beans and I inhaled it. My friend ordered the chicken suizas and she loved it as well. Will definitely come back if i am in the area

Ask the Community - La Casa Blanca mexican restaurant

Do they have real tequila margaritas?

La Casa Blanca--now known as "Finca Casa Blanca"--- has only wine margaritas. However, they are deleicious and the restaurant has much charm. Highly recommended.

Where can I find the brunch menu?

I don't think they have ever had the brunch menu online. It is a typical Mexican brunch with lots of Mexican favorites, including soups and even bacon, sausage, salads and pancakes! They also have a lady that makes fresh corn tortillas

It was very nice that they had special customer parking, since this parking lot does get very busy. We liked the nautical esthetic outside with the vintage diving suit statue outside. We noticed there were a few tables outside and some tables inside as well. We were greeted at the door and asked to sit anywhere. We chose to sit at a 2 seat table where there a long couch on one side and chairs on the other side( you share the couch with the table next to you. I immediately noticed how crowded the restaurant is and how the regular chairs were made to fit a smaller body type. As a larger person, I sat on the couch side (which was hard to get out of without disturbing the table next to us). I did notice when we were seated that our table looked a bit dirty with something stuck on it. I ordered a ginger ale and my husband got a water. We ordered the prawns Roca for our appetizer, it was very flavorful. I ordered the Rainbow roll and my husband ordered the El Ranchero roll. My rainbow roll was very filling and had an interesting tangy flavor, similar to miracle whip My husband loved the el Ranchero roll. He really liked the unique Mexican Japan fusion flavor of it. Overall, we were happy with the food but not happy with the price. We felt it was definitely not worth the price. The knly way we'd come back is if we took advantage of the happy hour special someday.

I wanted to find a sit down spot that could deliver that same citrusy, flavor packed experience and this place was everything. We came in pretty close to closing without realizing, and I hate doing that because I know how it feels working in food service, but the staff still maintained such a great attitude. We were told to seat ourselves and while the inside was way too hot to sit comfortably, the outdoor patio was perfect. Our server brought out water and menus almost immediately and even after realizing they closed at 8pm, we never felt rushed at all. The menu is full of mariscos classics like ceviches, aguachiles, tostadas, and larger plates. Prices range from affordable to a little higher, but the portions definitely reflect that. My husband and I both got tostadas to start. I got the La Special and he got the aguachile tostada, and thinking the portions would be small, we also ordered carne asada fries and a California burrito... which we definitely didn't need... BUTT I am glad we got them because YUM! The tostadas were a 100/10. The portions alone felt more than an appetizer/snack. The La Special was loaded with raw shrimp, cooked shrimp, and octopus, all super fresh with great texture. I just wish there was a little more avocado. The aguachile had that perfect citrusy, spicy kick that makes it addicting. Incredible, and I mean it. Our server also brought out a variety of sauces like chipotle crema, green salsa, red salsa, and sour cream. I added some chipotle sauce to the carne asada fries, which already came with guac and sour cream, and it took it to another level. The portion was huge, especially compared to places charging $20+ for fries. These were around $15 and came with crispy fries, flavorful meat, and a good amount of cheese. The California burrito was $12.99 and really filling with carne asada, fries, and cheese. The tortilla was soft but held everything together well and it hit exactly how a California burrito should. I seriously left with no complaints. The service was amazing, the food exceeded expectations, and this is definitely going into our regular rotation.

It came with a yummy almond galleta dusted with powdered sugar. The coffee was perfect. I dipped my cookie in my coffee and truly it was the perfect bite plus perfect treat as I waited for my food because I was HUNGRY! Our food took a while to arrive it was a Saturday morning at brunch but it wasn't crowded. The wait was the kind of wait you do where you look at the tables around you to see who has food and who doesn't and wonder what was the seating order of the folks around you and if they got their food before you and why. So when my food arrived I was sooooo ready! I ordered the chorizo and crispy potatoes burrito. It looked great when it arrived! I strategically cut my burrito about a quarter of the way in. I knew I would at least eat a quarter but I knew I definitely wouldn't eat the whole thing and I didn't want to waste a perfectly good bite on all tortilla. I cut my burrito and put a bite on my fork and as I put my food in my mouth I looked down and find a long curly hair. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I was disappointed for several reasons. 1. The bite I took was all egg and tortilla. No cheese no chorizo no potato. 2. I was starving! And 3. I knew I wasn't going to have anything to eat until after the other two people I was with finished eating and I could go somewhere else to get food. I didn't let it damper my mood. I showed the waiter who was very apologetic and took my plate away. When he walked away. It hit me I didn't tell him to not bring me anything else because I was going to eat a remade burrito. So I got his attention because I didn't want them to waste anymore food. Here is what I will say. To replace my food, I was given a pastry platter that was AMAZINGLY good! The concha was legit the best I've ever eaten. The banana bread was delicious with delicious toasted pecans which added a caramelized texture to the banana bread! No joke, it was so good. What I will also say is that I was visited with no less than 3 people including Gabriela herself who was absolutely apologetic about my experience and assured me it wouldn't happen again. What's also nice is that I wasn't charged for the food I ate which believe it or not has happened to me before MANY years ago. My peeps whom I was with absolutely loved their food. One had the Sopes and the other had the huevos rancheros. So while I have to be honest about my review, I really think this was a one off mistake and at the very least I would highly suggest ordering cafecito and pastries from Casa Gabriela!

The buffet is located downstairs in the hotel lobby area, and from the moment we walked in, everything felt clean, elegant, and well organized. I also appreciated that it was adults only, which created a more relaxed atmosphere. The seafood selection was incredible. They had king crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, steamed lobster tails, and Puerto Nuevo-style lobster tails. There was also prime rib, large shrimp, fish, oysters, clams, and more. What impressed me most was that everything was fresh, well stocked, and impeccably maintained. There were no restrictions on seafood and no special "crab night" or "lobster night"--it was all available during our visit. For seafood lovers, this place is heaven. Even if seafood isn't your thing, there are plenty of other options. During our Monday visit, they had chicken dishes and Filipino favorites like pork lumpia and pancit, along with a variety of other Asian-inspired offerings. The salad selection was excellent as well. The dessert station was simple but very well done. Highlights included chocolate-covered strawberries, macarons, carrot cake, tiramisu, and my personal favorite--the small chocolate-filled donuts. A special shoutout to our server, Panya, who provided outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience. The quality, freshness, variety, and service were all exceptional. I may have a hard time enjoying other buffets now because I'll definitely be comparing them to Jamul 33.

I was told that reservations, were not necessary since it was first come, first served. Knowing how busy Sundays can get, I intentionally arrived early, around 9:30 am, only to be told by the hostess that I actually needed a reservation. After explaining that I had called ahead, to make one, she said there was nothing she could do. Instead, she directed us to the nearby counter and suggested we wait to see if seats opened up. At one point, two seats opened up together and one was available at the other side of the bar. Since we were celebrating a birthday with a party of four, we took about two minutes to decide whether it was worth splitting up while waiting for a fourth seat to open. During that time, the server rushes us and came across as extremely rude. Mind you, I already had my card in hand because you have to pay upfront. Before we have even made a decision, she took my card and charged me for two people. I told her I wasn't ready to pay because we hadn't decided yet, and the gesture left a sour taste. I ended up having her cancel the charge. Disappointed, we went back to the hostess to ask if there were any other restaurants on the property open that early. She answered our question but then offered to see if she could seat us at the buffet after all. By this point, it was around 10:15am. She asked us to wait another 30 minutes, and said we might be able to get a table. We waited. We were finally seated around 11:20 am. Luckily, the mimosas from the bar held us over. What surprised me most was seeing so many empty tables around us. There seemed to be plenty of servers working the buffet, yet several tables remained empty, which left me wondering why the way was so long. THE FOOD: I came for one reason: the lobster. It did not disappoint. They had both Baja lobster and regular lobster, along with several types of crab legs and fresh oysters. At $59, the buffet was definitely worth it. The chilaquiles were decent , although the dessert selection left much to be desired. Aside from the confusing runaround and long wait, the food was good and the buffet was cleaned and maintained. Maybe they were just having an off day. I'd be willing to give them another try and will gladly update my review if they experience is different next time.
