After not so great experience at another local vet, I decided to call here and give them a chance…read more They were very transparent about their prices, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable over the phone. They gave my dog a very full physical exam and asked a lot of questions. The vet suggested a medication who was not pushy about it. She even offered to write a prescription so I could find the lowest price at my leisure. Will definitely be coming back here for all my family's pet needs. I wish I took pictures, but it was also very clean and organized. They had a dog get nervous and go to the bathroom in the front lobby, and the gal upfront immediately cleaned it up with a sanitizing mop bucket.

A routine dental cleaning for my two dogs turned into a traumatic, expensive nightmare due to sheer…read moreincompetence and a disgusting lack of transparency. They "only" charged $3400 for the cleanings, and failed to ask us if we are OK for them to remove all teeth from what used to be one of our dog's cute overbite. We also had to pay another $1500 for a follow-up emergency visit because they injured the other dog (and failed to tell us about it). Doctor must have a twisted sense of reality, because they told me the dogs did "fantastic" when I was called after the procedure. Dog 1: Permanent Disfigurement without Consent They extracted all six lower incisors from one of my dogs without a single phone call to discuss the necessity or get my consent. They effectively destroyed his signature look and "overbite" forever. We dropped off our cute dog and picked up a "small beast" with only two visible lower canines, all because they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone. And I will be requesting the x-rays and get a second opinion in the necessity of the extractions, because the other incident described below shattered my confidence in their competence. Dog 2: Injury and Cover-Up While my other dog was under anesthesia, the staff managed to lacerate both of his ears while trimming his face. Let that sink in: they cut a dog that was chemically immobilized and not moving. Even worse, the doctor called me afterward and emphatically stated both dogs did "fantastic," choosing to deliberately hide the injuries. They didn't mention a word of it during the face-to-face pickup, either. Dog 2: Late night emergency follow-up visit We only discovered the injured ears after getting home. When we called, they downplayed the cuts as "no big deal" and admitted they had used skin glue to fix one cut. They didn't even provide an e-collar. A few hours later, my dog was bleeding profusely--blood was literally pooling on the floor. We had to rush him to an emergency vet where we discovered the cuts were so deep they required actual sutures. Because of this clinic's "minor" mistake, my small dog had to be put under anesthesia twice in less than 12 hours. And we had to foot a $1500 emergency bill, after an incident that traumatized our family.

I should have written this review a while ago. We had never…read moreraised a pup before and our guy, Roscoe, left us stmied more than a few times. Sabrina came out and worked with us and quickly zeroed in on the issue of the month Roscoe is such a joy to be around and I know it's because of Sabrina's skill with dogs and her understanding that it was us, the owner, that needed to be taught. My husband and I travel on occasion and we have pet sitters stay with at the house. At the end of the sit we provide blind reviews of each other that get posted on the pet sitting website. Here are some of the comments that were left all by different sitters: - "Roscoe, best dog ever!" -"a darling to pet sit for.... Very well trained and obeys very well" -"another great sit with Roscoe... So much fun on walks... Great at home" -"a ball of energy and a sweetheart" (he still had his puppy brain" Thank you Sabrina!

We have had a four sessions with her, all in which she worked within our schedules and came to our house to make happen. Each and every session, we learn more and more and our Scottie, Ruckus has improved. Of course, it takes practice and dedication of the owners to train a dog, but Sabrina provides you with all the knowledge and tools you need to successfully do so. She is like the female Cesar Milan, dogs just respect her from the start, it's cool to see! With our dog, we have more advanced service dog training. Even if you don't intend to have your dog perform at service dog level, I seriously recommend getting at least one session of training just to make your life easier with your dog. You won't regret it! I feel like I have learned so much with her help and so happy I found her! Thanks Sabrina for all you do!!

I highly recommend this place to bring your pet. This clinic focuses only on dental and neuter/spay…read moreprocedures, but it's clear they do things very well. The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. I am very grateful for the clinic and their staff for their service and helping people like me afford such important care. G'dog is a recently adopted rescue dog with no recent, if any, dental care. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. I will be coming back to Pet Advocates for as long as I can. Many thanks to the vet and staff who patiently took care of G'dog. He is already doing better without the previous pain in his mouth.

After getting different quotes for dental cleaning in the Bay Area, I was recommended to look into…read moreThe Pet Advocate by a friend. The Pet Advocate offers significantly lower prices compared to Bay Area vet clinics, which sold me. Even their highest price for an extraction is only $40 (pre-molars and molars). After submitting my pet's information online, I was contacted shortly after with availability a month out and paid my $50 deposit. The instructions say drop-off is at 8am so I got there at 7:45am. To my surprise, there were already a ton of people there waiting for their pets' spay/neuter and dental cleaning appointments. By the time I was checked in and allowed to bring my dog inside, it was closer to 9am. Having come from a boutique-like vet in D.C., I was put off once I got inside. The waiting room was so busy, and there were so many cats inside from Animal Service, pet owners, and rescues. It just felt too crowded. Once we got to the back for the examination, it felt even more crowded and very factory-like. However, the vet was attentive, addressed all my concerns, and the vet techs were very friendly and gentle with my sweet pup. Before leaving you do have to pay first. Please note it is about a 3% additional fee for debit and credit cards, so I recommend bringing cash! Initially, I thought all my dog would need is dental cleaning. However, a few hours later I received a call from his vet technician who explained the x-rays showed serious bone less in one of his pre-molars and a molar. She explained to me the additional amount owed for the medication and extractions so I could be prepared. When I went to pick my dog up at 3pm, there was yet another long line and it took another 30-40minutes for most of us to be called in. The vet tech took the time to sit with me and explain all the limitations, how the procedure went, showed me the x-rays, and advised me on post-care. It helped put me at ease. For the price, it was worth coming here. The only cons were the check-in and checkout system, the number of animals there at one time, and how crowded the examination area was. Aside from dental cleaning and vaccinations, I probably would not come here for anything else. In addition to the driving time, factor in about another hour for check-in AND check out. A week post-op and my dog's extraction sites are healing very well so I'm still satisfied with the service!

My. Dog. Loves. Bobbi…read more We've been using Pawsitive Pets for doggy daycare and boarding for the past several years up until last year when the business moved out of the Hayward area. We continue to use Pawsitive Pets for boarding when my husband and I go out of town for business or vacation. This is a home business, not a huge facility. There are benefits to both large and small daycare facilities. I rotate my Nala between both and that works well for her. The environment Bobbi provides at Pawsitive Pets is similar to what my dog gets at home - a comfy and calm space to relax, quiet time, a yard, walks, cuddles, one on one time with one of her favorite people in the world. And also reinforcement of good home behavior, like don't eat off the kitchen table, don't bark nonstop for hours on end, don't jump on the kitchen counter, don't crap on the carpet, etc. Plus there are a small number of other dogs for Nala to play with. It used to hurt my feelings when Nala would joyously drag me to the door at daycare drop off. Once I'd hand off the leash to Bobbi, my precious baby puppy dog that I love so much would happily walk away and leave me behind without a second look. Back then, I felt that leaving her in good safe hands with Bobbi was worth that sting. It's the same with boarding drop offs now. Despite how many months have passed, Nala still remembers Bobbi, still joyously drags me along for the ride to greet her, still has the same energetic happy wiggle butt. Nala greets her good friend with the same enthusiasm, excitement, and trust as before, but now there is no sting. I leave my precious baby puppy dog feeling very appreciative of Bobbi and knowing my Nala will be happy, safe and cared for while I'm away.
