I brought him back to the shelter because I wanted them to treat him. They gave me pills in a small plastic baggie and liquid medication to administer at home. I was already concerned because the medications were not provided with prescription labels or clear medication information. I followed their instructions and gave him the medication, but his diarrhea continued. When I contacted the shelter again, I was made to feel as though the problem was our fault, and I was told that he had never had diarrhea before. I decided to look through his paperwork myself, and his records stated that he had experienced diarrhea previously, including around the time he was neutered. That was extremely upsetting because I felt like I had been given inaccurate information about his medical history. Ultimately, I had to pay out of pocket to take him to another veterinarian. The vet diagnosed him and prescribed the appropriate medication, which was something I should not have had to do after bringing an animal back to the shelter specifically because he was sick. I also later learned that he had a parasite, which was a major concern because I have other animals at home and there was a risk of it spreading to them. Please be very careful and ask for complete medical records and clear information about any medications before adopting an animal from here. Based on my experience, I would not recommend adopting a cat or kitten from this shelter without having them thoroughly examined by your own veterinarian afterward.

This was our first time attending this event. We absolutely loved that they had each family go in one at a time into the private space so that the animals could feel safe and less distracted. Not only at the shelter take pictures, but they had no problem with me setting up my tripod and camera. Andrea, Santa, and the other amazing worker (sorry I didn't remember your name) not only set up such an amazing backdrop, but also did such an incredible job helping the animals to focus and do their best. My dog Truman is a super picky dog when it comes to treats and they happen to have the one brand that he likes to eat. They really thought of everything!

If you're looking for cats, go to Pet Food Express at Slatten Ranch on Saturdays from 12-3. or Pittsburg Petsmart on Sundays from 12-3. They have different kinds of cats and kittens with different shapes and colors just waiting to be loved. After a short screening application, your new friend is yours! Cats and kittens have an adoption fee of $100. If you're looking for dogs, they don't bring them on site. Instead, they're all at a foster house in Brentwood. Man, I've never seen so many dogs in one place! Small and big dogs alike! You can tell they're well taken cared of at Joy's house. Usually you can just sit there, observe all their personalities, and pick from there. I'm sure one will steal your heart like my Wyatt has. It's been worth the money for us, as we can tell how healthy and happy our dog is with the quality treats and food he gets. Also, our dog is training to be a service animal, so there are certain items we need that can be very hard to find. Pet Food Express is the place to go.

We worked with Barbie adopting our American Bully Toby. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and it was a delight working with Barbie. I hope more people think about adopting their next dog or cat from rescues like these because there are so many animals that need our help. Lastly, the next time you want to add a furry buddy to your family think about an American Bully (aka Pitbull). They're by far the best family dogs you could ever ask for. They're smart, great with kids and other animals, and easy to train.

In November, 2021, we decided to add another fur baby to our family. We already had two senior rescues but we noticed how fast they were aging. One faster than the other, and we didn't want the younger one to be left alone when we lose the older one. We adopted Leo, an energetic poodle, chihuahua mix and he has brought us immeasurable joy! Barbie genuinely cares about her fosters! She vets adopters very thoroughly! We had a meet and greet in a park to allow all of us to be comfortable with the match. We really appreciate that because we know that when Barbie gives a family the thumbs up, she knows that rescue will be going to a loving, forever home! Leo is the sweetest puppy and all he wants to do is play. That has been challenging for us because our senior dogs don't want to play with a puppy who can be a little too strong and a little too rough for aging dogs. We spend hours a day, playing with Leo, taking him on walks and throwing a ball but it just never feels like enough. He goes to doggie day care once a week to play with other younger dogs and is so happy there. That's when we decided that Leo needs a playmate, a younger pack member who can match his energy. We reached out to Barbie and she matched us with our newest family member, Love, a Chihuhua, Shihtzu mix. Barbie assured us that she wants to play and is fearless! We worried that Leo might be too rough for her tiny size, but let me tell you, she is small but mighty! If he gets a little too rough, she tells him off and remarkably, he listens! He is a lot more gentle on Love than he has ever been with his other fur siblings or us! Since adding Love to our pack, we notice the older dogs hanging around us again, when before Love, they spent a lot of time away from wherever we were with Leo. They watch with amusement as Leo and Love play all day. Sometimes one will jump in and play for a minute and then continue to let them wear eachother out. Animal Rescue Recon is an organization that changes lives! They bring endless joy into the lives of so many! Our 3.5-year-old Frenchie jumped off our bed and ruptured a disc. Griffin couldn't walk or stand…read moreup on his own. His legs were becoming more stiff as the hours went on. The local vet in Napa said we needed a neurologist and sent us for emergency care at SAGE in Redwood City. They told us that he was becoming paralyzed and that we needed to get him an MRI ($3000) and an aggressive back surgery that was only an 80% chance he recovers from this. That would cost us approx $18,000 dollars. Not to mention the aftercare costs. If we couldn't do that, then we should euthanize him humanely there that day. We cried it out and begged for an alternative so they sent us home with a gloomy diagnosis that the steroids will probably not help and to have him put down if he become fully paralyzed and struggled with his breathing. We were trying to figure out what else could be done and our family friend messaged us with Linda from Bay area Animal rescue crews information. Linda from BAY AREA ANIMAL RESCUE CREW called us and immediately suggested we take Griffin to Concord, Alpine Vet Hospital. That night we showed up to the Clinic at 6pm (they have great hours for working families too! )Linda Greeted us and took us in to meet Dr Freeman who in detail explained this Hib Laser that could help Griffin to walk again for hundreds of dollars not thousands!!!! He also did a few tests in front of us to test Griffin's reflexes. And he quickly was able to explain Parysis vs Paralysed. Griffin had a shot. And the Vet scheduled 7 visits for this HIb laser in a matter of 2 weeks. After the first treatment, it was clear we had some results. Griffin who was not lifting his head on his own, left the clinic with his head up! Linda called us that night for after care and to make sure we were doing everything in our power to give him the best chance. She double-checked our meds. She advised on what food we should be feeding him. (he wasn't eating at the time) her suggestions and help did not go in vain. I truly believe she is a godsend for our Griffin and for us. We kept him on the Steriods and he's been on some anti-inflammatories and pain meds for the last 27 days. I am happy to report Griffin is 90% better! He still doesn't take the stairs or do any jumping (we will be limiting that for a long time ) But he is walking with the occasional stumble. I feel like Linda and the Rescue crew and Dr Virk and Dr Freeman and the rest of the staff at Alpine are a Group of people who deserve this praise. And a BIG HUGE THANK YOU! OUR family is healed and this help means more to us than I can put in this review! They were kind to us and helped us as if it was their dog suffering! I will be singing your praise for years to come. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts !

New puppy came with shots, spaying and micro chipping for the price that we paid. We were unfortunately unable to keep they dog so I paid them to care for the dog until she found a new home. The dog was happy, well fed and went to a loving family. They genuinely care about taking care of dogs and have so much experience. No I didn't probably put enough details in it, but I still should have got a little bit of compassion. Yes, my cat is semi ferrel, I took a chance and adopted her this way and the organization that I adopted from lied to me because I found out there was more issues with her then they told me about and I didn't return her. I got her training and it still didn't work. I do love her dispite her behavior, that's why I didn't just open my door and let her go run free when no one will help. I have no electricity in half of my apartmemt because of this fire, no heat, no where to go, and I am still living here and trying to do right by my animals. This situation has stressed out my animals as much as it has stressed me out. Whats stressing me out is my animals may be suffering right now and I reach out for help and I get a nasty response from this organization and many more like them. If I had somebody to turn to so my babies are not suffering I would go to them instead of reaching out to a complete stranger. This place absolutely does not care about the actually CARE and WELL BEING of the animals. Formal complaints have been filled in the past and a new complaint now as well with the state. We need more rescues however this one is not here for the interest of truly helping animals and doing the right thing. Purely disgusting. The Vice President's behavior is all on video and very disturbing - poor animals!
