She absolutely hates it and I knew I needed to get her out of theif as soon as we heard hear, so my daughter and I adopted her. K911 workers were patient with us and allowing my daughter to hold different cats, and share info on them. They are also dedicated to what they do and I was even able to reach out to Jeanie after we had adopted Brenda to ask her some questions. Also, we were able to take her to the K911 clinic to have her seen for cough as soon as we adopted her. I'd highly recommend K911 since they are REALLY good to the cats who come through.

When we walked up, there was only a screen door at the entrance, which made it appear open to the public, so my niece naturally assumed it was okay to walk in and lightly tried to open it. I immediately told her not to, and at the same time the employee also said "no." We then stood there patiently for a couple of minutes while the woman continued moving around without acknowledging us or explaining anything. I finally asked if they were open, and she abruptly yelled, "No, I'm cleaning." The issue was never that she was busy. We would have completely understood if she had simply communicated that respectfully from the beginning. Instead, the interaction felt cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude, especially toward people who came in genuinely interested in adopting. What was also concerning was the smell. Even while standing outside at the screen door, the odor of cat feces and urine was extremely strong and immediately noticeable. It smelled as though the area had not been properly cleaned in quite some time. Overall, we left feeling very unwelcome and disappointed. I hope future visitors and potential adopters are treated with more kindness, professionalism, and care.

This was our first time attending this event. We absolutely loved that they had each family go in one at a time into the private space so that the animals could feel safe and less distracted. Not only at the shelter take pictures, but they had no problem with me setting up my tripod and camera. Andrea, Santa, and the other amazing worker (sorry I didn't remember your name) not only set up such an amazing backdrop, but also did such an incredible job helping the animals to focus and do their best. My dog Truman is a super picky dog when it comes to treats and they happen to have the one brand that he likes to eat. They really thought of everything!

Her mom adopted the sweetest chihuahua from Arf back in 2021, the fur baby went blind about a year ago. So we were really concerned about how she would settle in a new environment, and we're trying to rehome the dog I went to Joybound a few weeks ago to ask if there was any chance they take back their animals in these circumstances. The woman at the welcome desk was so helpful explaining yes they do. She walked me thru the process to fill out the forms online They got back to my friend promptly to setup an appointment for a behavior assessment and vet evaluation. We had our appointment yesterday at 2. We arrived a half hour early so we wouldn't be rushed , and to help Lily stay as calm as possible. Everyone we encountered was delightful and so kind. No judgements- Lily came alive with tail wags and enthusiasm to be back at such a supportive rescue group. She was just basking in the attention and love. She passed her behavior test with flying colors. We were told she most likely will be going to a foster home first for a few weeks before she's available for adoption. We were told we can follow her online with her name, and see when she becomes available and she won't be on the website anymore once she finds her next loving home. We worked with Barbie adopting our American Bully Toby. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and it was a delight working with Barbie. I hope more people think about adopting their next dog or cat from rescues like these because there are so many animals that need our help. Lastly, the next time you want to add a furry buddy to your family think about an American Bully (aka Pitbull). They're by far the best family dogs you could ever ask for. They're smart, great with kids and other animals, and easy to train.

In November, 2021, we decided to add another fur baby to our family. We already had two senior rescues but we noticed how fast they were aging. One faster than the other, and we didn't want the younger one to be left alone when we lose the older one. We adopted Leo, an energetic poodle, chihuahua mix and he has brought us immeasurable joy! Barbie genuinely cares about her fosters! She vets adopters very thoroughly! We had a meet and greet in a park to allow all of us to be comfortable with the match. We really appreciate that because we know that when Barbie gives a family the thumbs up, she knows that rescue will be going to a loving, forever home! Leo is the sweetest puppy and all he wants to do is play. That has been challenging for us because our senior dogs don't want to play with a puppy who can be a little too strong and a little too rough for aging dogs. We spend hours a day, playing with Leo, taking him on walks and throwing a ball but it just never feels like enough. He goes to doggie day care once a week to play with other younger dogs and is so happy there. That's when we decided that Leo needs a playmate, a younger pack member who can match his energy. We reached out to Barbie and she matched us with our newest family member, Love, a Chihuhua, Shihtzu mix. Barbie assured us that she wants to play and is fearless! We worried that Leo might be too rough for her tiny size, but let me tell you, she is small but mighty! If he gets a little too rough, she tells him off and remarkably, he listens! He is a lot more gentle on Love than he has ever been with his other fur siblings or us! Since adding Love to our pack, we notice the older dogs hanging around us again, when before Love, they spent a lot of time away from wherever we were with Leo. They watch with amusement as Leo and Love play all day. Sometimes one will jump in and play for a minute and then continue to let them wear eachother out. Animal Rescue Recon is an organization that changes lives! They bring endless joy into the lives of so many! They have different kinds of cats and kittens with different shapes and colors just waiting to be loved. After a short screening application, your new friend is yours! Cats and kittens have an adoption fee of $100. If you're looking for dogs, they don't bring them on site. Instead, they're all at a foster house in Brentwood. Man, I've never seen so many dogs in one place! Small and big dogs alike! You can tell they're well taken cared of at Joy's house. Usually you can just sit there, observe all their personalities, and pick from there. I'm sure one will steal your heart like my Wyatt has. No I didn't probably put enough details in it, but I still should have got a little bit of compassion. Yes, my cat is semi ferrel, I took a chance and adopted her this way and the organization that I adopted from lied to me because I found out there was more issues with her then they told me about and I didn't return her. I got her training and it still didn't work. I do love her dispite her behavior, that's why I didn't just open my door and let her go run free when no one will help. I have no electricity in half of my apartmemt because of this fire, no heat, no where to go, and I am still living here and trying to do right by my animals. This situation has stressed out my animals as much as it has stressed me out. Their mission is to provide a safe haven and rehabilitation for neglected, abused, and unwanted domestic and farm animals. This is their first year that they are open. The ranch is run by a 3 generation family. We visited the ranch today with a home school group of approximately 20 kids and 10 adults. They provided a guided tour of the ranch. We spent about 70 minutes walking around. They have miniature donkeys, pot belly pigs, bummer lambs, goats, geese, chickens, tortoise, miniature horses, regular size horses, miniature cows ducks, turtles and squirrels! This is a great place to see and learn about animals! I highly recommend it! Tours can be scheduled via the website. Volunteer opportunities are available and needed!
