I should have written this review a while ago. We had never raised a pup before and our guy, Roscoe, left us stmied more than a few times. Sabrina came out and worked with us and quickly zeroed in on the issue of the month Roscoe is such a joy to be around and I know it's because of Sabrina's skill with dogs and her understanding that it was us, the owner, that needed to be taught. My husband and I travel on occasion and we have pet sitters stay with at the house. At the end of the sit we provide blind reviews of each other that get posted on the pet sitting website. I was looking for one on one service dog training with my 1 year old Scottish Terrier (a breed notoriously hard to train) and Sabrina, seriously delivered. We have had a four sessions with her, all in which she worked within our schedules and came to our house to make happen. Each and every session, we learn more and more and our Scottie, Ruckus has improved. Sabrina came highly recommended from a friend with a young and wild dog. We were amazed to see their dog walk off leash and to be so calm when guests came over to their home. So we reached out and she responded quickly, giving us a full background of her training. We felt confident she was right for our dogs. Sabrina helped train not only one but two of our young dogs, Selena who is a 4 yo German shepherd and Jack, a 2 yo German Shepard mix with husky. Both had different issues to work on. Kenai our 6 month old Rottweiler has just finished his 2 week Board and Train with Sabrina. He went in pulling HARD during his walks with most people ,and looking back, with very little attention to his handler. He was reactive to a lot of distractions as well as people and dogs. She did two at home training sessions with us then we boarded one dog for two weeks for training and our second dog is being boarded for one week with training. We struggled with the basics with the first dog (down to knowing or acknowledging her name) and reactive and non reactive barking. I cannot say how much of a difference the training has made. Sabrina is the BEST thing that has happened to me and my pup, Maleia. If you're thinking about hiring a trainer just call Sabrina, you will not regret it! For reference I have a 1.5 year old German Shepard/ border collie with high anxiety and reactive behavior. She pulls, barks, cries, whines, lunges and tries to attack strangers/dogs on walks. I've consulted two other highly recommended trainers in the area. The first girl told me I might have to euthanize my dog. The other trainer was not able to get even close to my dog without her trying to attack him. I honestly almost gave up on my dog but I knew she had potential. I decided to give training another shot and called Sabrina because she was recommended to me by a friend. When she came I was super nervous and honestly didn't have any expectations because of past experiences with trainers but Sabrina handled me and my dog SO WELL. I add "me" because she really trains the owner how to be calm, confident & handle a dog. Which is such an important part of the process. She immediately started giving me direction on how to handle Maleia. Maleia started listening to me and Sabrina within a few minutes. Honestly I woulda been satisfied if the session just ended then because I've never seen my dog stop barking at a stranger ever in her life. I was like she's fixed! Lmao but it honestly just got better and better throughout the session and I can't believe how much improvement I saw in Maleia in just one hour. I legit thought it would take years of training for Maleia to stop reacting to strangers and other dogs. I started to think it would never happen. But by the end of the session Maleia was able to walk close to Sabrina and her own dog without reacting. Something I genuinely thought I'd never see. Sabrina taught me how to control my dog in a way I never really thought was possible. I learned so much in one session I'm super eager to continue the training! I know that there is a lot of work ahead of us but I've never been so motivated and excited. I finally found someone who sees the potential in my dog. I actually saw real improvement in just the first session. I walked away with such a new outlook and perspective on how to train my dog (and tons of new knowledge and confidence). I am very impressed with Sabrina in so many ways: responsiveness, communication style, training style and the way you can work with her to customize according to your family's needs. Not all dogs are the same, not all needs are the same. I did basic training at a local trainer which I was very happy about but now that I would like to get Pabu off leash - all other trainers would like me to do board and train for 4-6 weeks. We have had a number of great training experiences with Sabrina and highly recommend her. Most recently, our naughty little Chiweenie went to board and train with Sabrina for 5 weeks. Our Chiweenie suffered from a great deal of stubborn, bad attitude and would get aggressive (biting, growling) when receiving affection or when we had a visitor. After staying with Sabrina for 5 weeks, our dog came back sweet, cooperative and a much happier dog. She will now "place" when told (go to her bed) and while we do have to maintain, this is a huge, huge improvement over the previous behavior which was nervous pacing and trying to get to a lap for hours on end. Before, rain meant accidents indoors. Now she happily go out in the rain and does her business. And she is overall better behaved and happy rather than nervous and anxious all the time. It's been a huge improvement and we are enjoying our dog so much more now. Sabrina has also worked with our German Shepherd on protection training - previously his protection training was tug/toy focused and not real life scenarios. My husband and I first adopted our Shepherd mix named Colby in December of 2018. The rescue told us he was approximately 10 months, he was so sweet and playful, but had tons of energy. We took him home and as he got comfortable he started to form some bad habits such as pulling on the leash and barking at other dogs. It progressively got worse, to the point where my husband was the only person who could walk him because he was so strong. We called a trainer we had found on google and he had great reviews but we just didn't click, he was very stern and seemed like he was in a hurry. We ended up not hiring him and continued to struggle for another month. Then we found Sabrina. Our good friends had adopted a dog with her help and whenever we would get together they could not stop talking about how great she was, so we gave her a call. That was the best decision I've ever made! When she came to our house, I immediately adored her. She answered every single question I had and our evaluation actually turned into a lesson that day. Our dog was 90% better the first 30 minutes we worked with him. I was in shock. My husband was in shock. She spent two hours at our house and it was amazing. It's been over a year and we train a few times a month. I may be biased but Colby is fantastic. He is off leash trained, knows all of his basic obedience, and responds to us immediately when we tell him to do something. What I love about Sabrina is she doesn't just take the leash and do the work, she teaches us how to train our dog ourselves, walks us through everything, then asks multiple times if we understand. If we don't, she has no problem explaining it further or demonstrating again. My husband jokes that Sabrina is my therapist. We go walking, on hikes, to the park, and I feel like I'm talking with a friend. She is such a sweet and genuine person who knows her stuff! I honestly have no idea what we would've done without her. She told me in the beginning that it is important for people to like their dog trainer, they spend a lot of time with you and in your home, and we absolutely adore her.
