Everyone seemed to have a great one, but when it came down to the car they saw they were working on, suddenly they changed their reasonable tune. So I turned to Craigslist. Kind of sketchy for getting work done on your car but I refused to pay up to $100/hr for maintenance and repairs. Flattline showed up with specials on some of the work I was looking to have done and I gave them a call. I spoke with Brian (he and his brother own this shop and the one in Palmyra) and he was extremely polite and helpful. I told him I have my own parts and was looking to have them do the labor. He said no problem! The true test was the labor rate. That's where I was sold. $40-$45/hr. No gimmicks. Scheduled an appointment they did everything I asked, even bought me into their garage to show me what was being done and was done in under 2 hours. Car has been great ever since. Their store front is simple and set back off of Cameron Street, and knowing the area, you may be a bit weary of taking your car here. I can assure you it is well worth the try.

They quoted me $550-$650 for the timing belt + water pump, with the caveat that because the belt went while we were moving we might also need a valve job, which would be $900. The valves did end up needing doing, and we left for $1,450. But not only did they do the belt / pump / valves for the lower end of their estimate, they also replaced all the plugs and did a mini tune up. No charge. And then we realized a day later that there was a little sticker in the upper corner of our windshield - they'd snuck in an oil change as well. They even put the higher mileage stuff in there for us. So cool. Great service, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

When I needed a new truck they helped me out and even shipped it down to my front door. I explained his employee began a negotiation and then turned to a manipulative lie to get me to the desk. (The term 'GET THEM TO THE DESK.' Is a hack salesmans tool to move you to a decision where the deck is in the favor of the Dealership. They use urgency, emotion, time spent, and fawning concern to manipulate you into making a foolhardy decision.) I asked him directly if the deal his employee had agreed to was within his power and he immediately talked over me. "No one is going to win if you are not going to be reasonable." Was his attempt at bringing me back to the negotiation. His only reason for the call was to get this review removed. The car I was interested in is rather rare. And that was the only reason I began talking to the sales people at Hondru. I and my family have been in all facets of the car business since the 1930's and we can all call Tom Freysinger, John Sutliff, Gary Lawrence, and Danny Sunderland friends of many years. Sal was very sweet and soon after I paid for the vehicle and we left together to the notary to transfer the title. Only at this point did I ask myself why is there this little "button" on the dash and I curiously pressed the "button" and what do you know it was a sticker blocking the check engine light. I literally asked Sal if the vehicle had any codes when it came in and if he scanned for cleared codes and he assured me there were no codes and both he and his mechanic looked it over and scanned it. I immediately drove to Advanced Auto a few minutes away and they scanned it and there were some pretty severe codes P219b, P0480,P0456. What a nasty and shameless thing to do to put a sticker over the check engine light and try to scam a family with little children. When I was paying him cash he counted out the cash and put aside $100 bill and said I think you paid me $100 extra. I knew I didn't because I triple counted. What a lousy trickster. That wasn't a mistake of an honest man wanting to return the extra money that was a calculated maneuver to demonstrate integrity and trustworthiness. This man is a professional con artist and should have his license removed and he should be investigated for criminal fraud.
