The guy quite literally takes my keys from me and puts them in his office and wouldn't give me even a second to look at the M3 without him seeing every little thing I was looking at. I popped the hood? Looked upset. I'm going through the screens? Asking why I'm touching stuff. Wouldn't even let me rev the car to see if everything was sounding correctly. Get in my car starts moving my seat around. Going through my menus and touching my things and judging my car without asking. Starts revving my car excessively and doesn't seem to give a care in the world. Then he proceeds to assume I would be financing and giving me the reference of the lowest credit score they can approve and saying I would need a down payment. Not knowing if I could afford it cash or not. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Worked with Greg M and overall a simple and professional process. Previously only one indie dealer where was confident to buy a car remote (FMC in Quincy, MA) - can now add Manheim to list! Searching for a 6sp manual locally proved difficult and so expanded to options further away. Had only really considered national online retailers (Carvana/Vroom) given their return policy - but something to be said with dealing with someone who can walk over to the car and take a look on your behalf (don't think Carvana/Vroom customer agents ever see their inventory in real life). Greg's responsiveness and transparency helped build confidence to purchase remote from Manheim. He was knowledgeable (BMW car guy), quick to answer questions and shared a video walk around of the car. Manheim's inventory is biased towards luxury vehicles and this was lowest (maybe 2nd lowest) priced on the lot at that time - never felt that way with service provided. Given market conditions did not have luxury of time for 3rd party PPI but Manheim stands behind their inventory. Found uneven wear in one tire (state inspection issue) which they agreed to cover as well as fix for a minor cosmetic issue missed (awaiting check). Manheim also includes a powertrain warranty (via AllState) with some vehicles, a nice bonus. Delivery was great (Alpha Transport Services). Chose enclosed trailer which if budget allows is way to go. I began searching for a replacement for my 2005 Honda Element about a year ago. I wasn't incredibly active about finding a car until the past week, when I was starting to feel nervous about using a high mileage vehicle for my business. I saw several Elements in my area, but none of them fit the exact specifications that I was looking for. I found the listing from Manheim Imports for a 2009 Honda Element in the color I wanted with the specs I wanted, and the car looked to be in very good condition. I called a day later, after another disappointing viewing of a local Element, and talked to Ben about me making the five hour drive to Manheim to see the Honda Element. My first concern was that they would sell the car before I arrived, thus having me make a five hour trip for nothing. Ben was happy to hold the car for me, and even though I opted to put the hold in with a credit card number, he didn't actually directly ask me to do so. First sign that I was dealing with actual human beings instead of car dealers!!! Ben then began correspondence with me about the condition of the car, stating that he didn't want me to drive all the way to Pennsylvania only to be disappointed. He sent me an email with details of the vehicle, including a link to the Carfax on Mannheim's website, and followed up with detailed photos of any scratches he could find on the car. I received pictures of every single scratch or scuff mark on the vehicle- and there were barely any at all. The car was immaculate and I was definitely interested. Ben took the appropriate steps to make sure we had everything set up before I arrived, including helping me apply for financing through their company in case the pre-approval I had from my bank fell through (which it did, because I had to leave to see the car before I could get a check from my bank). My father and I took the five hour drive the next morning and arrived to find the Element sitting out front, beautiful and waiting for us to inspect it. Ben greeted us right away and walked us around the vehicle, going over the various features of the car and making note of any differences between the older model I had and the newer model we were looking at. We took it for a test drive (it ran like a dream!). Ben even had us take it down a road where we could test it at a faster speed to make sure everything sounded good. Negotiations were fair, quick, and very clear. I paid what I felt the car was worth and we both seemed happy with the deal. The service technicians were concerned about a tire pressure sensor light on the dash and they made sure to get it to turn off before we signed anything. Overall this was a very positive experience. I'm thrilled with my new car and I found buying from Manheim Imports to be the least stressful car shopping experience I've ever had! I recently purchased a vehicle from Manheim Imports and the decision to deal with them was in part based on the numerous positive reviews listed online. I live roughly 4 hours away from Manheim, PA but happened across a vehicle on their website that caught my eye. Both the vehicle listing and Ken Boak, a salesman, claimed that the vehicle had a BMW installed Dinan S2 package which greatly appealed to me. Ken also told me that the vehicle was in sterling condition and perfect inside and out which seemed unusual for a used vehicle. After Ken's absolute statement concerning the condition, I had Ken send me pictures to at least verify that the full S2 package was installed as I had been led to believe. Both on the phone and via email, Ken was far less than candid about why core pieces of the package were not on the car and eventually admitted only the S2 tuner was installed. I asked him outright why he wasn't being forthright and direct when I asked specific questions. Instead of clarifying a miscommunication or apologizing for making a mistake, Ken sent me a tersely worded email indicating that he was offended by my question and based on his 20 years selling cars and 1000s of happy customers he would never try to mislead a customer. I then thought perhaps I was off the mark and our conversation was a genuine miscommunication. Despite these issues, I was still interested in the car and I drove the 4 hours to Manheim Imports to purchase it. Upon arriving the car was absolutely filthy; the red leather seats were black with grime, the inside of the car was covered in pollen and dirt, the wheel lugs were rusted, the front fender had scraped a curb, and the steering wheel BMW emblem had a massive dent in it (BMW charged me $1500 to fix this potential air bag issue). I purchased the car for its specific features, but was at a loss for how Ken felt no need to tell me about the actual condition of the vehicle before I drove out to purchase it. Additionally, I asked that they ship me new wheel lugs to replace the rusted ones to which both Ken Boak and Karl White agreed and acknowledged. Over a month later and the situation deteriorated further. I did not receive the title or lug nuts they had promised and had to contact Ken again. He informed me that the title was shipped to the wrong address and he made no attempt to satisfy the issue. Instead, he forwarded me the tracking number which had been emailed to him over a month ago, but he had felt no need to send my way before. He completely ignored my question about the lug nuts they had agreed to send me so I called. As I expected, he refused to speak with me and forwarded my call to someone else who instead claimed responsibility for the error with the title, but claimed no knowledge of the replacement lug nuts promised. Eventually Ken emailed me and told me I could get the replacement lug nuts from BMW for free because the car was under warranty still (which isn't the case as I have already asked BMW). I bought the car and enjoy it, but my experience as a customer was awful. The lack of appropriate customer service continues to concern me and I hope that anyone else who may consider buying a vehicle from Manheim Imports be diligent and cautious especially if dealing with Ken Boak. read more

I can't say enough good things about how Kevin Buckwalter and the other members of this dealership treated me in the purchase of my car. BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER! We found a 2008 Land Rover LR2 on Manheim Imports' website (www.manheimimports.com) that we loved, but thought the price was too good to be true (well below blue book value). We went on a Saturday and met Joe Moore. After a few minutes of chatting he made a quick copy of my driver's licence, then threw us the keys and told us where to take it for a test drive. We walked around the lot and asked about a few other cars and test drove a second SUV as well. We told Joe that we would go home and think it over. He shook our hands and did not pressure us AT ALL to make a decision, just explained their process and showed us some information on extended warranties that we asked about. We had an email from Joe by the time we got home thanking us for visiting. I asked him a few questions over email, he answered quickly and concisely. On Thursday morning I went on to their website and filled out the credit application, then made an online offer on the SUV. Within ONE hour, Joe called me and said that he'd be happy to meet me in the middle on the price and that they had already approved me for a loan with a 5.89% APR. Here is the best part. When we got there on Friday afternoon to sign the paperwork, Joe had the SUV sitting out front ready to go with a fresh wash and full tank of gas. The paperwork was ready and waiting and it took less than 5 minutes to sign and complete the deal. They even took care of all the tags and registration for us. Joe is awesome, professional and helpful. We had just moved to PA from CA and he took the time to answer some questions we had about registering and inspecting our other car. Found a good deal on an almost new car and transferred full payment quickly. My son had totaled family car so I needed replacement in a timely manner. I was nervous about buying so far away (700 miles from dealer). I was promised Tuesday/Wednesday delivery by the sales agent. After payment was made the delivery window slipped to Thursday. Then it moved again to Friday. And then in to the weekend. Communication with delivery agent has been terrible and only as a reaction to my inquiry. Paid $700 for the delivery which was 4 to 5 days later than originally promised. I had other options on a similar car locally that I could have picked up immediately. I was looking through the Lancaster and York area for a nice used import car. I tried going to Harrisburg, Lebanon, Hershey, and even as far as Baltimore! I stumbled across Manheim Imports during a search for a BMW, but I also found out that they have a good selection of Volvo, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, and Mercedes Benz vehicles. I decided that I prefer German cars, and I really liked the BMW inventory. The staff professionally explained the differences between the 3 series and 5 series (specifically the differences between a 328i, 335i, and 528i), before I decided I would rather have an SUV. They showed me an all-wheel drive X3 and X5 and explained the differences between those. I decided I wasn't ready to commit, so they let me go on my way. I noticed they had a service department, so when my PA state inspection expired, I took my car in for inspection. I was looking for a Porsche Boxter in a price range that didn't cause me to go into sticker shock. After an extensive internet search, I narrowed my choices down to five vehicles: Two in northern Virginia, two in Maryland, and one in Pennsylvania. I really wasn't in a hurry to purchase the vehicle (I was paying cash - no loan), so I had the luxury of taking my time on making a decision. The cars ranged in age from 1999 - 2005 and had price ranges from $9,000 - $14,500. Milage varied as well, with a high of 75,000 - 42,000. One of the northern Virginia cars was sold as my wife and I were ion our way to view it. What the salesman doesn't know is that if he'd returned my call from the day before, he'd probably have sold the car (another salesman sold the car instead) on a Friday rather than lose his commission on Saturday. Finally, I was left only with the Boxter offered for sale by Mannheim Imports in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I live in the Washington, DC, area so going there meant getting off work early and driving almost two hours to test drive a burgundy colored 2000 Boxter. Before I left the DC area, I called the dealership and spoke with Greg Martin. He promised to hold the car for me until I arrived. The Boxter was waiting for me in front of the dealership upon my arrival, and I was allowed to test drive the vehicle. Greg took me down a road that he believed would convince me just how well the Boxter handled, and he wasn't wrong. The car drove great, had no dents or scratches on it, and the interior was so clean I could have eaten off the floor. As soon as we returned to Mannheim Imports, I knew I'd found the car for me. Greg and I sat down and it took less than five minutes to reach a deal: in fact, the dealership agreed to my offer, asking only that I put down a $500 deposit in order to hold the auto until my return a few days later with a certified check. I was even told that Pennsylvania law prevented the dealership from keeping my deposit in the event I changed my mind and decided not to purchase the vehicle. How many salesmen would tell you that right off the bat? So, on Saturday, when my wife and I arrived with the check, the Boxter was waiting for me by the front door fully gassed and recently cleaned. In fact, it was so clean, it appeared to have been detailed. We spent no more than ten minutes at Manheim Imports and were on our way back to Washington. The car drove great and I was one happy camper. But the story doesn't end there. I'd had the Boxter less than two weeks when the "Check Engine Light" came on while driving down the interstate. The problem was that two oxygen sensors failed and before I could even hope to have the vehicle pass the DC emissions test, those censors needed to be replaced. I called Greg that day and informed him what had happened. He said he need to speak with his manager, Jeff, and that he'd get back to me. Now, we've all dealt with car dealers before, so hearing Greg say he'd call me back made me think, "sure, and the check's in the mail." But less than five minutes later, Greg called me back and the dealership agreed to pay for whatever it took to ensure the indicator light went off and the sensor problem was corrected. They even told me to find a local repair shop so that I wouldn't have to drive all the way back to Pennsylvania. I found a good independent repair shop and called Greg to tell him the costs of the repair. Greg asked me to hold while he spoke to Jeff, the manager. I was on hold less than a minute when Greg returned and said there would be no problem with the repair costs I quoted them. I immediately asked to speak to Jeff the manager and could not find enough adjectives to praise Greg's customer service, and Mannheim Import's overall professionalism in dealing with this auto from test drive to finalizing a deal to getting it repaired. To quote Jeff, he said, "We stand by the cars we sell." I know there are past customers who went to Mannheim Imports and left unsatisfied. I've read some of those posts, and understand that something happened to them while there that left a sour taste in their mouths, But for me, going to Manheim Imports has been the easiest, most stress-free auto purchase I have ever had, and I highly recommend that if you're looking for a good deal, great customer service, and well-maintained cars, go to Mannheim Imports in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I was sold a 2005 BMW X5 by Manheim Imports that had several issues, the worst was a broken AC unit. This company will tell you anything to get you to buy. My advice would be to shop for your next car somewhere more honest. read more
