I have had my car, my wife's car and my son's car all repaired at Finishline Collision. The service and quality are top notch. I come from Patchogue and go to Valley Stream in order to have Finishline work on my cars. There are lots of body shops in between but none that could measure up to the quality of Finishline. I'm not here to bash, in fact my old initial review from finish line's job last year was 5 stars. i also thanked them personally with monetary gift and card. I see how that was "appreciated." However, I cannot remain silent in the face of abuse and unethical business practices this time around. So let this be a warning so no one else gets taken advantage of, abused or has their vehicle "held hostage" as Cesare did today. In fact, the reason for Cesare's apparent change of character was due to my decision to take the car elsewhere, which i assure you and did so to Cesar as well, that it had nothing to do with their service or performance. -Now, the accident occurred Saturday evening upon which i called Finish Line. Their answering service got me in touch with Cesar who was very patient and nice and spent about 23 minutes on the phone with me for a handful of calls. The accident was not in his towing jurisdiction and since it was drive-able I decided to take it to his shop where he had me leave it in the lot and drop the key. He told me to leave it there and they do not open until Monday. Fine! I thanked him profusely because I did appreciate his help and though he IS in the towing and collision business** i did understand it was Saturday night and with his family. Later that night for issues due to insurance, monetary reasons and the car itself, I was recommended to a different collision shop that I felt could better handle the situation- it had nothing to do with repair work mind you. And never did I have a doubt that Finish Line would do an excellent job. So Sunday morning I called Cesar and apologized and said I'd like to take the car elsewhere; that's when his tone changed and he did tell me i would have to pay storage charges and we would speak tomorrow. I call Monday morning while at a new job as well and tell him the other shop will come pick up the car but I cannot leave work. Again i assured him it had nothing to do with Finish Line or the service; He insists that in lieu of a faxed notarized signature, copy of license and registration, I only come down in person. Upon telling him I cant and am at work he suggests Tuesday (which would run up this obnoxious bill even further, of which he still would not give an estimate). So in response to my question, "so if i was god forbid debilitated, i could not pick up my car??" Cesar replies, "I have to take this other call" and hangs up. No surprise though as we both know he still has the car. So I leave at lunchtime and arrive to the most reprehensible and jaw-dropping "business encounter" I've ever faced. First he only accepts cash and no cards; thus I asked what I owe. $1100 (incl tax!!) owed since 11pm Saturday night. While he does show me a $200/day storage charge posted in the office = $600;he then adds an $85 yard charge (no idea, dont ask me). So I ask again, how is it $1100? To which he replies "$100 per hour for the 3 hours I spent on the phone with you Saturday." REMINDER: 23 minutes as logged and listed on my cell phone!!! He then has the nerve to ask me how much I charge an hour? he continues to complain that he was with his family!! Well, it occurred to me later that if one's cell is tied to the answering service of a 24hr tow/collision shop, maybe he's in the wrong business** if he doesnt want to be bothered. My pay is NONE of HIS BUSINESS; but apparently it is....when i said it wasn't 3 hours, he quickly yelled "ITS NON-NEGOTIABLE!!!"" - i guess he could have charged me anything he wanted - after all the car is still held "hostage". Yes, I called the cops bc at that point i felt violated and just wanted my car out of there; cops could not help.....I left having no cash and let Cesar know the second collision shop would pick it up. STILL he would not share an estimate or invoice. Now I will add that when he saw my concern his response was "you're not paying for it anyway; insurance is...let the other shop pay it." He did say I have until 4pm (mind you i know for a fact they close at 5 and usually there till 6). you see folks, he went from a nice guy to playing hardball all because I wanted the car back, having already said I would pay for storage....thats where he decided to take matters and dollars into his own hands. Then, I get a call at work at 3:15pm from his admin/secretary "Cesar wants you to know that after 4 it will be another $200!!!" FOLKS: YOU BE THE JUDGE AND JURY!!!! Now I dont doubt the other reviews or the good body work, but in this instance i will not stand for unethical and unconventional business practices.. Now chances are people arent that tough when possessions are no longer held hostage, but as an honest guy and loyal consumer (YES, i would have still used finish line down the road if necessary before Cesar "played games") I will not stand while any shop or insurance company gets billed for services that did not occur. I dont play games, was honest and loyal from the very beginning.....OH HOW $$ CHANGES EVERYTHING! read more

Update of my car that Finish Line Collision tried to fix: After charging my insurance over $7,000 to fix my car, a year later, my bumper and my fender is falling off. I took my car to another auto shop and the guy even told me to go back to Finish Line to tell them to fix it because they did a horrible job and he felt bad charging me because I already paid a lot of money getting it done from Finish Line. WHY IS MY LIFE BEING RUINED BY FINISH LINE COLLISION A YEAR LATER AFTER PAYING THEM SO MUCH MONEY?! This business is a JOKE!!!!! read more

These guys have a lot to learn about basic customer service, basic communication, making accurate representations, etc. And to add insult to injury, they act like they are doing you a favor by taking your phone call days after they are supposed to speak with you. I don't even know how to begin to recommend this place. A woman hit me on a Tuesday afternoon, and I am an extremely devoted car person. Through a recommendation of a friend, I brought my vehicle to this place on a Wednesday late in the day. As luck would have it, I happened to have a car show that coming Saturday. I met with Caesar and told him my situation. While he stated to me that he was uncertain if they could complete the vehicle, and that he would not sacrifice efficiency for quality, he said he would do his best. But lo and behold, that Friday, the vehicle was ready. And the quality of the workmanship was superb. You would never even know that the car had been in an accident. If someone, anyone out there, is serious about the matching the paint and in the quality of workmanship, I honestly do not know why you would ever take your vehicle anywhere else than this establishment. I had an accident in my Bentley GT. Cesar of Finish line told me that he happened to have a Bentley GT bumper at his shop and he quoted me an amazing price. He did not have to be so honest. In fact, he could've charged me more. I appreciate that honesty and the work was truly excellent. It is a bright yellow BENTLEY and the color is nearly impossible to get right. He was able to fix a plastic bumper; paint the car; and have protective film put on the car in no time at all and for thousands less than any other shop. this place is a scam!!! i have a 2012 lancer evolution in graphite grey color. i got rear ended and i have them do the job for my car, after 2 months my bumper is starting to (chip and peal) and i noticed that they've install a used white bumper on my car, the owner named cesare said to me that it's just a primer but the white color underneath has a clear glossy paint... and the clips are messed up. my bumper pops out on the passenger side. facts about ths body shop. 1. owner is very obnoxious 2.they would cheat u in any way they can 3.bad customer service 4.they put used parts 5.paint would chip in couple of months guaranteed 6.they would jacked up your insurance company 7.parts that they fixed is not aligned 8.they would use a used bumper and just spray them over with the same color as your car.. proceed at your own risk!! read more

Absolute trash. Finished my car a MONTH after it was supposed to be done. Then my car has a panel that pushes in with lock pins. (Small panel) as i was on the parkway, it flew off! New panel? $279 then $100 to paint. Which they would not take fault for even though they painted it! Forget this place and look elsewhere like north star or something. read more

I was very unhappy with the work this place did. My car had extensive flood damage & should have been totalled. Instead they worked out a sweetheart deal with their pal, the insurance rep & took $11,000 to wipe it clean. When I got it back the car still smelt like a sewer & the lights were not working properly on the dash. They explained that the flashing lights doesn't mean anything. They also offered (the nice guys they appeared to be) to take out a little dent on my door. Well let me tell you the dent looked 10 times worse. I will never ever use them again. read more

I must admit my experience with Finish Line did not quite make it to the finish line. I gave them two stars because the work that was done was acceptable, but the poor customer service was a disaster and I would never use them again. The nightmare started when I was promised something by one of the owners and when I came to pick up the car it wasn't done. Then the one who made the promise denied he ever promised... His denial cost me extra days for a rental car that I had to pay out of pocket...The moral of this story is "GET IT IN WRITING"...and don't pay until you physically inspect your car..I would not refer this company to any friends, family or strangers, especially since there are so many other collisions places in the area.. read more

So, the only reason why I was prompted to write this review is because of the excellent customer service I have just received. The 'weather strip', as it is called, was beginning to disattach from the windshield. I went to an auto glass place that I was referred to and they told me it would be $65 plus tax and I'd have to leave my car. Because the person offering the estimate said it looks like my windshield was replaced, I went back to Finish Line Collision to see if they had a recommendation for me. Finish Line Collision repaired my car twice: once when I was rear ended while my car was parked in a parking lot. And the second time someone rode into my car, causing damage to the right frame of my car. In both instances we went through insurance, so I didn't pay. However, my car looked as good as new! Today, to my surprise Cesare of Finish Line Collision, told me to take my car to the same auto glass place. However, I would not have to pay. They (F.L.C.) will take care of it! Amazing! I was not expecting that! I didn't come in with a complaint. I simply pointed out where the strip was loose and mentioned that within the last few years they had done work for me AND they opted to cover the cost. If that's not amazing customer service, I don't know what is! To add, when I had originally come in for repairs after accidents, they were always professional, patient, and accommodating. They took care of me, my experiences have always been stellar. Btw, the strip was repaired in less than 15 min and looks as good as new! Thanks Cesare, for intervening!! I decided to give 5 stars [as opposed to my original 4]because although my bumper seems to chip easier since the repairs...I was told that will be the case [no matter who does the repair] the moment the paint job isn't from the factory. I was run off the road in my tiny volkswagen jetta by a kid in a big SUV. The right side of my vehicle was devastated. Finish Line worked with me and my insurance company AND the rental car company to make sure I didn't have to worry about a thing after such a traumatic experience. Caesare and Dimitrios were super kind, helpful, informative and by keeping me in the loop as to the status of my repairs. They called me periodically to give me updates, and even had my baby fixed earlier than expected. They worked flawlessly with Enterprise and Allstate so that all I had to do was get to Finish Line and pick up my car - the rest was done for me. These guys even went above and beyond by completely clearing out and detailing the interior of my car (which was a disaster area, let me tell you). That was the nicest surprise I could have asked for. This has been such a trying a difficult experience for me, but Finish Line helped me make the best of a bad situation and put a huge smile on my face.
