Hey Folks: If ya ever need a top shelf Autobody shop, please check this out: Kudos across the board for all my dear friends at The Collision Star for the superior work that they do. I've been a satisfied customer of 5 Star Collision/The Collision Star and/or Merrick Road Collision since approximately 2009. I've brought each of my MASSAPEQUA LEXUS 2010 LS 460; my 2015 BMW X5; my 2016 BMW 750 iL XDrive and now my 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER XLE at least once, if not more times to these great bodyshops. (Please note, all of my cars were hit/dinged by other folks!). There's a reason so many dealerships send their scratched/dinged cars here....THEIR WORK IS AWESOME AND TOTALLY METICULOUS!!! I totally trust Roy and his crew 1,000%. I drop off my cars; Miss Lisa arranges with Lynbrook Enterprise for a pickup from the Shop; I'm in a rental, and honestly never even give my damaged new cars a second thought. Roy 'n Lisa, from time-to-time, give me updates, just to keep me in the loop. I'm cognizant of the fact that these great people (Roy; Lisa; Curtis; Bobby, etc., etc., deal with Insurance adjusters; parts distributors et al. while making sure my new cars get nothing but new parts, and the same factory paint color that I originally picked out. It's truly stress-free for customers like me. My time is spent running my Luxury Real Estate concern. When Lisa/Roy call me, I don't have to do anything, but return to The Collision Star at 162 Earle Avenue in Lynbrook, NY; drop-off my Enterprise car right at the shop, and pickup my Whip in pristine condition. Bobby truly left me in good hands with Roy....as he and the guys at The Collision Star offer stellar craftsmanship in their bodyshop work. They do not miss a trick! They truly are artists!!! I'm always going to deal with The Collision Star/Merrick Road Collision firms. Their work is head 'n tails above the competition, and they treat me like family!!! The shop did a wonderful job on my 2018 Hyundai Sonata. It was vandalize and they bought it back to life like nothing never happen. Lisa and here team was great and professional on what they do best. INSURANCE FRAUD SPECIALISTS!!!!!! Keep AWAY!! Crooks are a compliment for these guys. I gave no permission for them to do any work on my car yet they somehow got a $9,600 approval from Nationwide Insurance whom never even examined the car. Intiallly the price quoted was $1,500. They hold your car hostage and shake you down if you refuse to have them rip off the insurance company. All I can say is that these guys should be put in jail and Lexus of Rockville Centre should be ashamed of themselves to recommend these unscrupulous folks. Buyer Beware!! read more

I've taken a few of my family's cars here. Every single time everyone has been super nice to me and helpful. My first car I had significant damage on it, and they walked me through the insurance stuff and my car came back perfect and super clean. Then on a lease I had a small dent on my bumper. One of the workers looked at the car and gave me my options. He was honest and told me to try giving my car back with the dent because they may not charge me. Well he was right and the car company didn't. It saved me a lot of hassle and money. You can't get great customer service and honesty much places. Hopefully I won't need these guys too much, but I will continue to return. Thanks for everything. read more

BEWARE: POSSIBLE INSURANCE AND CUSTOMER FRAUD or QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES: Estimate I was given was "less than $500" when I brought my car in... but after insurance got involved price went to $1,256...with the difference going to them....and NO NOTICE GIVEN TO ME . When I complained and asked to speak to owner I was told I could not! I asked Curtiss to explain what made up the difference between original estimate of under $500 and the final bill of $1,256 and why so much higher than original estimate I was told the following by Curtis, the manager: "THERE IS A CASH PRICE ....THAT WAS GIVEN WHEN YOU FIRST BROUGHT CAR IN FOR ESTIMATE which includes a lot of stuff we don't charge for..like mounting and remounting fender AND THERE IS AN INSURANCE PRICE IN WHICH WE CHARGE FOR ALL THE FREE STUFF YOU WOULD HAVE RECEIVED FREE IF IT WAS A CASH ESTIMATE." This is the charge you are now expected to pay..less $250. Then I was told that if I paid cash they wouldn't charge tax but when I looked at my receipt there was tax charged. When I called them on this I was told that they meant the additional tax of 8.75% for using a credit card. Charging NYState tax twice ??? Isn't this illegal? If not, should be. NEVER AGAIN!!! Our Lexus truck was in a serious front end collision and the Collision Star shop has returned the vehicle to "like new" condition. I have to say that Dino who works with the heavy body and structural repair side is a real professional and kept us regularly informed of status and progress and gave us a confident always response that the car would be returned in excellent condition which it was. After going through 2 other body shops, I was referred to this body shop through a friend. By far... this was the best decision yet. I only deal with Curtis. He treats me like family and takes such good care of me and anybody I refer to him. His work is very precise and CLEAN!!! Both times I went to him my car was returned brand new as if nothing ever happened. He's quick, efficient and even the rest of the staff is so pleasant to deal with. BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWS ABOUT BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. A few months after they had repaired my vehicle following an accident, my car was still experiencing performance issues. I confirmed with another repair shop this was related to the accident. As I was still under warranty with Collision Star, I contacted them to address the issue. It was like Jekyll and Hyde. Right off the bat, they tried to pawn it off as an unrelated problem, without even an inspection or good faith inquiry. I was given the end run, and outright dismissed. Will not be bringing my business back, and would not recommend them to anyone else. read more

This shop did an AMAZING job on my car. I got sideswiped and I couldn't even open my driver door. When I got my car back they fixed the scratches in the back and the front. This place is the best. The Collision Star helped me out after two different accidents, and my car looks 100% brand new again inside and out (they even cleaned and vacuumed the interior - a pleasant surprise)! They were so helpful with all aspects of the process and tried to make it less stressful. Whether it was dealing with insurance, or getting a rental car, Lisa set it all up for me and couldn't have been more welcoming! I am actually shocked to see good ratings for this place bc they are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I brought my BRAND NEW Infiniti q 50s with 1,000 miles on it to them with back quarter pannel damage and had nothing but PROBLEMS. Tony(will tell u everything u want to hear & not back it up) Lisa was (nasty unprofessional lady) Roy (useless manager located around the block) ABSENT OWNER is probably half the problem with this place!!! Only professional respectable guy there was Tommy the introductory guy yu initially speak to when yu call. They NEVER draped my car & got a TON of DUST in my BRAND NEW car to the point it was caked in the vents & they gave it back to me like that along with a grit on my whole new interior! Rust formed on the corners of where they painted in less than a month! Clear coat slim to none!! Car was there month and a half and back 3 times!! They were so unorganized that they gave it back to me with NO emblems back on it & when i called to say something told me oh they forgot to tell me its on back order!!!! On top of all this....They scratched up my car in NUMEROUS other places each time they had it back and tried to deny almost every mistake they made!! Not sure if it's just my luck but I expected a very different experience when I dropped my car off. Everyone seemed helpful and eager to help. My husband brought his car here this year and had a much better experience than I did. I brought my car in for repair of the bumpers. I waited patiently for the work to be done, as it kept getting postponed. I was so excited to finally get my car back after almost a month only to find my windshield cracked. The WORST part is no one called us to let us know. Upon arriving to receive the car my husband noticed it....after paying the bill. Someone dropped the communication ball here big time. How can you allow a customer to show up to this surprise without alerting them first? Just another inconvenience after having waited patiently for the work to get done... giving 2 stars because the bumpers look better. And hoping they will repair the windshield as they said they would. read more

They took me right into the shop and look at the car and repaired it with no charge. Think about that for a minute!!!! Where in New York does a collision establishment do the right thing for a total stranger. I took my car in to get the rear bumper replaced and painted and the passenger rear quarter panel fixed. After it being in the shop a week and getting a phone call stating it was ready, I went to pick up the car. I look the car over before going inside and notice that the quarter panel is not flush with the bumper, and the bumper is not painted correctly (it is not glossy and has a fish scale appearance to it). I walk in and let the guy know that it has not been fixed correctly and he tells me "you were in an accident so its not going to be perfect". FYI, I was in a parking lot and me and another person backed into each other. It was only about $1,300 worth of damage. I tell him I am not taking the car and he needs to get it fixed correctly. Another week goes by and I get the call to come and get my car. The quarter panel is now flush with the bumper, which is great, but the paint is even worse than before. On one part of the bumber it feels and looks like dirt or small rocks got under the paint, and on the opposite side of the bumper it has a white mark through it like something rubbed against it while it was drying or they just did not correctly sand or buff it. I bring the guy out to have him look at this and he tells me that they can just buff it out. How they are going to buff out small rocks and dirt in the paint I am not sure. I ask him why they called me when the car is obviously not ready and he says "I just work here" and "we dont go over the car with a microscope". Keep in mind a blind person could feel both of these spots, even if they are not visible to the eye (which they are). I take the car because at this point I do not trust them to do quality work. I have my insurance adjustor coming out today to help me get this taken care of. Five Star Collision in Carrollton does not do quality work, I would never recommend that anyone take their vehicle here. read more

They had told me to bring my car in on Wednesday after Memorial Day and I called on Tuesday toward the end of the day to see if I could drop my car off a day early and they claimed they were waiting for me all day and I was suppose to bring it in that day anyway. I brought it over right away and they told me they would have my car done Saturday or Monday and I did not get my car back until Wednesday at the very end of the day to fix very minor damage. Then when I got the car back they did not paint over one of the scrapes and when I mentioned it they tried to claim that there was no way that it happen from the accident when I know it did. It was even recorded in the police report. Not to mention there was a large drip from the paint and there were several specs that did not get painted. They claimed that it was already like that which it wasn't. I would never bring my car back there again. The only thing they did a good job on was the hood. But after the attitude I got from them on things I pointed out they did wrong there is no way I would go back there again. I would not recommend this place. read more
