Jacobs was recommended to me and after a couple of visits I learned that I was getting thorough reviews and then some extra tips about what to watch out for in coming months. I have never been overcharged, I have always been treated fair, when problems came back (infrequent) they were handled without question (except helping to diagnose the issue at hand). When I need to get my car in for a repair I can always write a letter about what I need done, call the current owner Tom who maintains the integrity of Jacobs operation, and drop my cars off and the keys in the drop box. I could not be happier with their service they are a hidden treasure on the east side. I almost hate to put this in for fear of block myself out of service time. But Tom and his guys deserve all the credit. :)

Told them i think it might me a short somewhere in the wiring. Received excuses for 3 days, why they couldnt get started on my car. Charged $1000 for so called repairs. 2 fuses replaced, radiator connection replaced, oil change complete. Brand new blower motor shorted out. Quoted additional $350 to replace blower motor. Didnt have money. Replaced it myself. 2 Days later, blower motor went out again. Called them, was told all wiring was checked. IT WAS NOT. Bring it back in. No thank you. Took it to Steves Car Care, by Buckwheat road. Wiring harness was bad, shorting out the resistor and new blower motor. Jocobs DID NOT offer anything to fix THEIR mistake. Cost me an additional $740.00. I do NOT recommend this place.

Later I received an estimate of $379 to replace the air intake hose. I agreed, but afterwards discovered the part costs about $30 and can be replaced by an experienced mechanic in about 30 minutes. CB charged $85 for labor, $270 for the part, plus tax! This is a clear case of gouging the customer. The next time I need service, I'll consider more cost effective options.

While they were in there they advised that 3 of 4 CV joints also needed to be replaced and bearings replaced so I had that taken care of because we were heading to FL once again. Well after about 8 months I put the transmission in reverse and "pow" the vehicle lurched and came to a stop. Problem was the left rear CV joint failed. I had it towed to Jerry's and they advised that the supplier replaced the cost of the CV and they would be obtaining another one from another supplier in another day. The next day Wayne called to say come pick up your vehicle it is all done. "Done under our one year warranty." Well, needless to say I could not be happier with the guys at Jerry's. If you you need transmission, transfer case, axle work I cannot recommend anyone better than Jerry's for fair price, efficient, timely and a firm that stands behind their warranty.
