We found this nice little hole in the wall on Belcher and decided to give it a try. It truly gives an all around Irish pub vibe!! The decorations and the attention to detail on the menu, omg! Felt like I was in a movie hahaha. FOOD: Calamari 7/10 -- I love a good calamari appetizer. Whenever it is an option, I will most certainly be ordering. I liked the batter of this calamari, I just wish the portion was a bit more giving, but that's okay. You have to be mindful that this is a pub, not a fine dining experience. Don't expect a michelin star prepped calamari. It was good nonetheless. Fish Spread 8/10 -- Delicious. Some may argue that it is a bit bland but I personally really liked it. A good portion was given too! Finley's Fish & Chips 10/10 -- Insane. The fish batter was sooo amazing. I didn't get tired of it, which is a great sign, because I normally get sick of fried food quickly. It is one of their more popular dishes and I totally see why. We went with friends to Finley's Irish Pub & Eatery at Ulmerton and Belcher in Largo FL after hearing about the fish and chips for years. I have no photos but it is decorated like a traditional Irish pub inside, with a vast mural around one wall, a big Guinness mirror behind the bar, and some green lighting and kegs and such on the walls. It's a very popular place, with all the Irish foods you'd expect, some Mon-Tue food specials, lots of big-screen tvs showing all kinds of sports, and live music on Saturdays. (Mar 2026) The servings are quite large. We had Finley's signature fish and chips, nicely cooked, very light and tender but not much flavor. A little seasoning in the beer batter would have helped. It was good, but not I-gotta-have-it spectacular. We tried the cutely-named "Pot of Gold" soup of the day (Mar 2026), which turned out to be cream of mushroom soup with a lot of cheddar cheese melted over the top. It tasted ok, but it was Too thick and rich for our "soup" expectations. Our guests loved their huge Italian-like subs with piping-hot crusty chewy onion rings . Another great experience! We sat at a high top table around 8:30pm but the server had to wipe it down before we could put anything on it . A local band was playing and they were pretty good. We ordered "The Fiver" soup. Flavor was great but barely ANY onions in it. The fried fish dinner was fantastic along with the Reuben. My husband ordered an old fashioned and said it was very subpar but realizes they're not a cocktail type of place. Went on a Friday night, party of 5. Service was not good. It took about 25 minutes for us to get a table. They do not take reservations on the weekends and many people were waiting. Our waiter took drink orders, came back for food orders and another drinks order. A Guinness was missed, the food came, ordered the Guinness again, it did not come. Waiter apologized when the dirty plates were being collected, offered to bring it then!! The noise level is very high, plus there's live music later on. Food was okay, nothing special. I'm shocked to see the low reviews. I thought this place was fantastic. The menu prices were very reasonable, the portions were great, and the service was nice too. I got myself a prime rib salad. My husband got the corned beef and cabbage. We both had leftover for the next day. We were a party of 5 (hehe), and we were well taken care of. Place wasn't too loud and it felt like we had plenty of space to spread around. This is definitely a local joint, but I think that's what makes it special. It has that "not yet corporatized" charm with lots of art and decorations on the walls. It reminds me a lot of our local Emerald Island casino here in Vegas, which is also Irish themed. read more

Service, ambiance, price: pretty good, fair. But, food in general? Hit or miss. If you're selective, then you might become even more selective after every visit. The menu continues to amaze me with the way food is prepared and served by people that are not familiar with the traditional way of cooking. If you're going to sell a "Hoosier Tenderloin," then why not make sure the kitchen staff understand what a "Hoosier Tenderloin" would look like? It is not supposed to fit the size of the bun. The tenderloin is supposed to be flattened out to about a quarter of an inch. What was served was instead an almost 3/4" patty of tenderloin meat. Way too thick. Come on. Let's get the talented team of cooks to become familiar of the right way on how food should be prepared as advertised. Other than this irritating issue, I will still return but any improvement will be appreciated as usual. But! As I said about service, it's pretty good. Our lady server was generous enough to discount the sandwich meal off of our meal bill. This was a sandwich my mother had. She is the pickiest eater I know. And I am in usual disagreement with her opinions about food and other things in general. But! This? This sandwich she was served was extremely disappointing. We were expecting a giant flat crispy delicious piece of crunchy meat three times the size of the bun. Like the time she had two visits before this last one. The visit before this one? Too greasy. A little flattened out, but not flatten out enough. Instead, it looked like a fast food chicken breast style tenderloin. *sigh* One of the many reasons of returning will be because the appetizers have always made me want more. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, French fries, not a thing to complain about. But! Let's get the tenderloin problem straightened out. I mean, flattened out. I showed up 45 minutes early to watch the Bucs game, expecting to grab a seat at the bar. Instead, the bartender had cups, empty beer cans, and even her personal cell phone placed out to "reserve" every single seat, apparently for her *favorite* patrons. An hour later (& 15 minutes into the game she was saving seats for), only 2 of the 8 were actually filled. This wasn't my first time here. She's known me and the people I come with for over a year. We regularly spend around $100 plus tip during a game, and we always tip extra for the time we're there. Meanwhile, the couple she was holding seats for only ordered an iced tea. Seriously? $100 vs $2. The couple sitting next to me said they were there just before she started reserving seats and that she was rude to them too. They also felt unwelcome and said it should be first come, first served. They ended up leaving for the bar at the other side of the restaurant, and we left to head to another restaurant, taking our money and loyalty elsewhere. You're already losing customers because you no longer have the NFL package, and now you're pushing away the ones who actually spend money here (vs $2 iced tea). By word of mouth alone, today's experience cost you at least 5-6 customers. The way you treat people has a ripple effect, and it will hurt your business unless things change. read more

We used to love it here and I don't know what happened but something happened. The fish and chips was one of my favorites but the last time I was there, the fish tasted like old grease. My husband's burger was both dry and dripping in fat, not juice ,actual drips of fat and grease We thought it was an off night. Went for the Monday night special( 03/31/25) wings a buck a piece can't beat that !They were very hot and fresh , offered a variety of sauces. French fries were also hot but not fresh .. My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and I got the Monday wings special 10 wings for $8.95. I got the blackened seasoning wings and these were the best wings I've had. They were completely seasoned and very crunchy and not overly greasy. My husband really enjoyed the sandwich it was a large sandwich. Got side of fries good but, recommend seasoning. We sat in the bar area at a high top. Bar was half full, there were 4 tables filled, and the young blonde bartender serving us was running around flustered like she's never worked a restaurant shift before. I'm not sure if it was because she was "flustered", but she was extremely rude and entitled to both us and a group of elderly folks looking to grab a table. The food lack quality and substance as well. Prime rib "sandwich" was a slab on meat on top of bread and came out undercooked. The middle was completely cold. There was no cheese, mushrooms, or onions which is how this sandwich is served anywhere else. When we sent the food back she tried to make us pay for it even though it wasn't touched. Then she threw the bill down and said "now I have to pay for your food". If this is true, that's a terrible policy by management that should never be stuck on the server, if it's not true she lied just to guilt us. Regardless, terrible experience. read more

The food at this place is absolutely incredible! I have been coming for Trivia night for a while now and have never had a bad meal here ever. Their teriyaki cheeseburger is to die for it is absolutely one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I know what you're thinking how good can bar food really be but trust me this place is different which is why it pains me to report that they do have one server that is extremely abrasive & physically attacks customers. If I did not witness this with my own eyes I would not believe it. I saw this waitress physically push 2 of the women at our table when asked about where their food was as well at swear them. When we finally got to speak to the manager an hour later he said he stands by his servers and proceeded to kick out one of the girls that got pushed because she threatened to tell this story online. Best advice I can give you if you must eat here is to order the food to go! Why take a chance? This is an insane incident but even more insane was the owner's response to the situation he could have easily reviewed the security tapes and then calmly talked to both parties before taking any action which he did not. Poor service and felt that we were not welcomed. We showed up at 12:15 to watch 1:00 game and we're told that we cannot sit at bar, when there was 10 open seats. Staff held open seats for people who didn't show up until 1:15 and only ordered tea. If this is how you choose to treat people, there are numerous other places to spend our time (and $$$). It's a pub that offers Irish decorum and some speciality items that are more traditional to the culture than pub food. The menu is affordable, filling and good. I ordered the Italian sandwich which was stuffed with meats, lettuce and tomato to a healthy proportion. The fries were good and to my own preference I wish they were a bit more salted. This review is for a Door Dash order of dinner on Sunday 3/14. Wow! I ordered a platter of corned beef and cabbage with potato skins via DoorDash and I have to say Finley's is a class act. First off the food was super fresh and delicious. This meal honestly tasted like someone's Irish grandma whipped it up with love and sent home the leftovers. They did such a great job of packaging it in sturdy plastic reusable containers and even included little condiment type items you would get in the restaurant. The portions were not skimpy at all - I will definitely have leftovers. We have been trying to find a corned beef dinner source for a while now and haven't been happy. Fun place with great staff! I enjoyed Finley's when I went to see a friend's band play. Stephon, The bartender was serving us at a nearby table and he was not only was he hilarious, he was on top of it and friendly. The food was good - The Rueben Rolls were a little rich for my taste. The steak bites were delicious with a balance of freshly sliced tomatoes and garlic bread that melts in your mouth.
