While it's been a couple years since last dining here, we felt welcome once again. Though I believe the restaurant is under new management, the only change I noticed was an updated menu. I came here twice this week with my husband. First time he wanted a full breakfast but I only wanted oatmeal. It was a huge bowl with my choice of sides served with cream, raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon. it was a bit too thick for me but not bad. My husband's pancakes were the size of the plate so one came home. His eggs and hash browns were good. The second time I had a gyro for lunch and requested no onions. The waitress served it with onions never checking her order. There was plenty of meat but the tzatziki sauce was served on the size cold and clumpy. The pita was over toasted making it even dryer to eat. My husband's second breakfast here was biscuits in gravy which he said was just OK, lacking in flavor. read more

I'm gonna tell you since the new owners took over, the service at this restaurant has gone way downhill. The new "system" that they have implemented takes the waitresses forever to put your order in, and also to get your check and pay for your meal. Been wanting to try this place for awhile now... Had dinner and won't be back. The food was so gross! The cheese used in the lasagna tasted rancid, the garlic bread had absolutely no flavor, the meatballs had a strange blended texture and were very bland, and the simple red marinara had no flavor either. The service was decent, but honestly we were one of the very few people in there on a Friday evening (which honestly should have been my first sign to go somewhere else)... More Bad than Good Largo Family Restaurant has been around for a long time, but this was my first visit. It was bright and clean and comfortable. It was a busy Sunday morning, and the very limited staff had trouble keeping up. I only noticed 2 servers for dozens of tables. Whenever I go to a new place for breakfast I get the same 5 things. Here the best item was the ham steak. It was very thick and large and flavorful. It could have spent a little more time on the grill to give it a better sear. There is another type of ham on the menu that, I was told, was small and not as good. Next was the French toast. It wasn't soggy in the middle like it's often served in other restaurants. Breakfast went way downhill from there. The scrambled eggs were a pile of strange ribbons, dense and flavorless. Scrambled should be at least a little fluffy. This looked like a whisk never came anywhere near those eggs. The biscuit, baked in the restaurant, as shown on the menu, was a small, dense ball. It was so airless that I had a tough time cutting through it with my steak knife! Finally, were the grits. Few places do grits well, but there are some good ones out there. Here they were sticky and completely bland. The server confirmed that they were instant, as I suspected. I tried making them OK with lots of butter, salt and pepper, but they were inedible. I left the full bowl at the edge of the table with nary a bite taken out and thought the server would notice, but she never did. The server didn't ask how things were after I was done and when she delivered the check. I guess that was OK since I just wanted to leave and never go back. read more

I must say that I have been here before, about 4 yrs ago. I stopped coming here because the food went down and just wasn't good. I seen a sign on the building saying that they have a new owner so we decided to give it a try. So glad that we did, I arrived during breakfast and ordered the 2 egg breakfast with Patty sausage. It came with shredded hash browns and toast. My husband ordered the same breakfast except with ham. The staff and our waitress was very friendly and she kept our coffee cups filled. She was helpful as I asked questions about the different foods on the menu. The inside is nice and big with plenty of seating and had lots of parking . The food arrived at our table and it was so much food! I'm not saying how good this restaurant is because the portions are large... the food is just very good! I think place was having an off day, and the waitress I think was super new, or has a new ordering machine or something. We were visiting family and they wanted to come here because they live locally and swore by the place, older folk so I get it. The food seemed okay, some of it, I got fried zucchini assuming that can't be bad. We didn't get all the food we ordered, and had to wait and hunt down the waitress and then her partner to get the correct food. And when the food was initially brought, one 4 of the 6 people in our party got food me and my FIL's food didn't arrive. Ugh what a mess. I would not go back or even offer this place up as a 5th suggestion. Do not recommend, personally. read more

What a wonderful place to eat. When we entered, Val said pick a place to sit and we did. We were in her section and she is a great waitress. What a menu!!! Could not decide what to order. First, I've worked in food service since the early 1990's! I've always wore gloves!!! Today, my experience was fine. Service good, food good. However, while sitting at the counter eating, I observed the waitresses NOT using gloves to touch/slice/toast bread. And apparently they make honemade bread & they have to slice the bread themselves. (Yep you guessed it, they just put one hand on top of the loaf while the other hand was cuttingbslices!!!) I'm sorty, you are not at home!!! Again, no gloves! Now, need I remind you all these waitresses are touching menus, handling money (they cash out the customers themselves), then bust their own tables (it's slow this morning)!!! NOT ONCE DID I SEE A WAITRESS WASH THEIR HANDS OR AT LEAST SANITIZE THEM!!!! Then their cooks don't wear gloves. Witnessing all of this makes you wonder about the rest of the restaurant!!! Or when it is busy, what else gets swept under the rug....so to speak!!! read more

Nice surprise to see orzo noodles, nice flavor with carrots, celery and chicken breast chunks. - vegetable, I chose cole slaw.. on the sweet side, but good. -potato - I was hoping for baked potato but it wasn't available, chose fries well done....they did not cook as asked - nice portion of fried clams - dessert, I chose rice pudding to go They serve alcohol, glass of house chardonnay $2.95 Solid restaurant. we called largo family to find out if they had ham dinner,so we come in the only lady we see who is familiar,she comes over and gets drink order,we look at menu do not see ham dinner,so i ask the lady when she comes back if they have a ham dinner,she looks n her phone and no ham dinner i explain i just called and they said yes,if not we will pay for ice tea,s and go,she says let me check,she came back and talked with our server,who then came over,but at this time we did not know that we had been given a THANKSGIVING MENU,ok so food was great perfect,but server spent time with table behind us,only asked one everything ok,i asked for napkins,but the best we were not offered desert,the table behind us got there,s,she asked them and brought the desert,we have been coming there for 12 years and have always been offered all kinds of pudding,we had a salmon dinner and a ham dinner,next time do better,all customers should get the same conversation,i left her 8 dollar tip. read more

Wednesday is karaoke night. I stopped here after work and left with a full belly, a takeout box, and a grin on my face. The food is just gold old country food and the diners are just good old local folks. It's special because it's nothing special.... but the lemon chicken soup was delicious. Long time diners, but we must say the service in particular has slipped with new ownership - particularly a computer system that half works. No training for existing staff upon inception which has chased some really good servers away, replaced by very mediocre substitutes and will, no doubt, eventually chase long time customers away. read more

We were taken out to dinner here tonight. The restaurant is frozen in time as far as its looks go. It appears to not have been updated for many decades. I ordered the beef stroganoff & my wife ordered the chicken & dumplings. They came with salad & a dessert. The main dishes were large & of good quality food.
