It was a late night and a few of us were just looking for a place to grab a bite. So I just decided to look up some sports bars on a Sunday and see what I could get. And I sure did struck gold with this restaurant, now without a shadow of a doubt there was some hiccups. But very little of this post will be about the exceptional food that is at this place, service was a bit spotty on the other hand. The reason why they have three stars to me is due to their spotty service. So once I came in I went up to the lady at the bar and ordered, the manager was also there as well. Halfway through our food getting prepared we decided to order more food. So the food that we ordered the first time around came and of course we expected to wait another five minutes or so for the other food to come in. However that process ended up taking almost 15 minutes to the point where I had to go back there and ask what happened. The manager went back there and retrieve the fruit and brought it up. But I wasn't quite sure what took so long or why is it that he didn't go back there himself without me having to come there and ask him. However the food was delicious that's one thing they do have going for themselves, If I'm ever in the area I will definitely come back though, but I'll probably come back in earlier half of the day when they're actually serving people because coming up to them is completely different. read more

I just love a good ole dirty bar with strong drinks and juicy wings! I mean i'm not sure if the wings are really good since I was so intoxicated when I ate them, but I don't remember leaving any behind! I saw a lot of sketchy things inside of Rudy's Sports Bar before I started drinking but hey who am I to judge. I'm not a big fan of the whole smoking being allowed inside the bar thing but its pretty spacious so I was sort of able to escape it. Playing darts was pretty fun but I couldn't get any to stick after the first few drinks. My favorite thing about Rudy's is the little machine in the corner that allows you to play whatever type of music you would like. I think for $5 you get up to 13 different song selections unless someone else puts money in the machine. The bar girls are also super nice and so is the security. I loved the fact that the bartenders did not mind helping me decide on what to drink, and even created a few concoctions to my liking. Without a doubt this will not be my last visit to Rudy's Sports Bar. read more

First off, love that they are non-smoking now and the wings are pretty good. However, my girl and I were there for a lightning game and 2 out of the 5 drinks we had, had mold in the ice. My drink also tasted like a freezer. Like the taste you get from old ice in your drink which is odd because I know they go thru a lot of ice. Word to the wise, burn your ice and clean your ice machine regularly. We switched to beer and that's all I'd have if I'm ever back in there. They were a little busy and service suffered for that reason even sitting at the bar. When they get packed, I'd hate see how that goes. If they get the ice situation under control, this could easily be a 3 or even 4 star dive bar but what appears to be consistent mold in the ice is just being careless about the establishment and patrons. read more

We got there around 6 ish and walked in, big place not many people there but the music from the speakers was blaring. We love sports bars and frequent them often but I felt as if we were in the front row at a music concert it was so loud. This is a Steelers bar that is packed on steeler game days. The pros are that it's a place to gather for your fellow fans and plenty of tvs and seating to see the game. It is recommended to make a reservation on steeler game days to secure seating for yourself. I liked the sense of community during the game and everyone giving each other high fives when the Steelers score. There was a little bit of a verbal fight between non Steelers fans getting mouthy after the Steelers lost. If you are a true Steelers fan, we loathe anyone in our space when we are gathering for a game. Basically if your for the opposing team why set yourself up by coming to a Steelers bar on game day? Lol Anyway, some cons...open smoking. Your def going to come out smelling like an ash tray after the game. I can't stomach eating at the same time someone is smoking next to me. Just not my thing. There is a set menu of mostly fried items on game day. There was nothing I wanted to order but if mozzarella sticks, wings, onion rings are your thing then go for it. Finally, there was only two waitresses for a big crowd of patrons. Things got confused at times and took longer than normal. This place was AMAZING. Angie's service was beyond great. Super friendly, she made our drinks better than most places do and gave us great recommendations on how the food is. Speaking of the food, it was delicious!! Best boneless wings I've ever had! The Chili was so good too, a very big portion for a small bowl. My partner got the drums and they were HUGE and their hot sauce was very yummy. Everyone there was friendly and talkative. They have an adult arcade that you can use as well. This place has room for a lot of people Customer service: I went here 2 times while I was on vacation and the staff were good to us both times. Rudy's is like a car wreck. You're kind of grossed out, but you just can't leave. The epitome of a dive bar, Rudy's has a shady crowd, cheap drinks, decent size shots and a certain odor that you need to wash off you as soon as you get home. It's a very big place with a good size bar, pool tables, Pop a Shot, Golden Tee, etc. It's the ghetto version of Dave & Buster's, basically. The servers have the Hooter's outfit thing going on, so it's obviously geared toward male clientele, but there are always a decent amount of women in the place. It's a smoking bar that serves food (which is rare), but I've never tried the food, so I can't comment on that. I've been here 3-4 times (like I said, car wreck), and never left disappointed. Large dive type bar. Its not really a dive, just very dark with ugly floors. Do not come if you're bothered by smoke. This is a local favorite of Pittsburgh fans for over 30 years. Standing room only during Steelers games. Floors are concrete with black ceilings and walls. Large ceiling fans all over keep the air moving. 4 pool tables, foosball, dart boards, Golden Tee, bowling and mini golf on video. Tournaments for golf, darts and pool. A dozen or so tvs around. Saturday and Sunday feature 50 cent wings for dine in only. No to go boxes at that price either so again DINE IN ONLY. Still a great deal for some big ass juicy wings. I have not seen the bathroom in the poor conditions others have said. We'll kept when I go. Has its bruises from upset Steelers fans. You can see the kitchen anytime someone enters and it is quite clean. Not as others have speculated. Nor has any employee been snippy with me. Yep, there is trash in the parking lot from idiots. Great atmosphere that is laid back, clean, and energetic. Total bar food and sports driven. Food comes out fast and delicious. Really cheap food and beer specials. The bartender took care of everyone from 2-3pm on a Saturday.... NO PROBLEM CAUSE SHE ROCKED. Handled 22 people fast, polite, upbeat, & courteous. My favorite waitress there is Amber, she always remembers us and goes out of her way to make everything quick. Went for the first time for food. This is a smoking establishment at the bar, but it's far enough away so you don't smell much at the tables and is well ventilated. Burger with fries was $7.99, got the monster burger for $9.99 and it was a double!! I don't know how they make any money on it. Ordered rare and it was rare. Beer was cold. Bring a jacket, I couldn't finish my bucket of beer because it was so cold inside my teeth were chattering. Great food excellent prices. read more

As part of the staff, I personally appreciate the atmosphere and closeness I have with my managers and coworkers. This is a laid back, fun, cool place to be. SO TRASHY! Literally the NASTIEST bar in town. Can someone please explain why these trick ass servers think their so fucking great? The way they dress is SO GROSS. I was searching for a pole but could only find the syphilis bumps coming from under their shorts. Like how am I even supposed to take you seriously? Oh, and also the bartender was a complete BITCH (and clearly had herpes.. Yikes!). She actually gave me shit for being 21, in a bar. Like, okay? She then CHARGED ME $20 for 2 SHOTS, and nothing else. I refused to pay and even the bouncer was shocked by the cost of the drinks. I'm also 100% certain that either the bartender or bouncer put something in my drink and DRUGGED ME because for the one beer and one shot that I did drink I've never been so sick, so quick. Not hungover but actually sick, like throwing up all night, the next day and so far for 3 days afterward & from only a beer and a shot, nothing else. I did eat real food before coming and was hydrated. So please explain that to me... I'm just so happy I was with good people, because (very) seriously, who know what the fuck could have happen to me. The service from the bar staff was great. But DON'T go there for a football game unless you are a Steeler fan. We were asked "politely " by the manager to leave the bar because we were rooting for an opposing team and upsetting the other-- which turned out to be the entire bar. This is the worst bar I've ever been to by far. Dark, depressing, so dirty. Broken glass all over the parking lot. The bartender was a total bitch who thought she was awesome, and then was smoking WHILE she made our drinks.. so gross. A lot of bars/restaurants in this area are smoking but that just was unacceptable. The drinks tasted dirty like the cups weren't washed- we tabbed out and left full drinks. My office always has our happy hour here, great layout for a large group and good times. Our servers are always friendly and work hard. There are darts, pool, and other games to play as well as free pizza during certain times. All of the food is your normal bar fare but always hits the spot, the wings and sauces are great. They allow smoking inside which is a plus for some of us but not for others. The size and layout of the place is nice and open and there are plenty of places to gather and sit. Bad experience last night! Don't go here for the food. It was my second trip to this bar. Went for dinner with friends. We ordered pizzas. After about 40 minutes the manager told me that they didn't have anymore pizza dough. My choice was to wait another 45 minutes for frozen dough to thaw or order something else. I ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich. 20 minutes later the sandwich arrived. The chicken was burnt and not eatable. A professional kitchen allowing food out the door of that inferior is an insult to the patrons. I sent it back and after another 20 minutes a second sandwich arrived albeit better still partially burnt. I think the oil in the fryer was too hot or dirty. But whatever the cause after two hours at this restaurant we left, I without having eaten. Fortunately the rest of my party were able to get something acceptable. The manager did apologize. He explained he was busy at the bar and was not watching the kitchen. I'm sorry for his difficulties, but if you're in charge then you are responsible. Fire the cook and retrain the manager. It's best quality is that it is a legitimate Steelers sports bar with lots of space and televisions with the volume cranked up. My husband and I both had burgers with fries and they were better than expected. The ketchup was Heinz. The bad news and reason for two stars is that they allow smoking inside.
