(They live in San Diego and had a small wedding on west coast). Angie, the owner and chef extraordinaire, took care of every detail for me, as if I was a member of her family. My sister who was born on the bicentennial arrived to a decorated private room that was all red, white and blue - tablecloths, napkins, centerpieces, white string lights, and dangling flags and USA from the ceiling. It was so beautiful that my sister was in awe and had a little tear of happiness. Some of family loved the centerpieces so much that they took some home! The food was absolutely a 12 on a scale of 1-10. Angie helped me on the food and alcohol budget. We planned a fish and chicken taco bar. The mahi mahi was so flaky, fresh and perfectly seasoned. Even non-fish lovers raved about it! (Apparently mahi mahi sandwiches are #1 on the menu). She made homemade queso, homemade baked mac n cheese (for my non-taco eaters), chicken nuggets, fruit platters and more. My family raved about the food and even got to go boxes. As part of the party, I had games and giveaways. Angie donated a couple Breakroom gift cards for the local family to win. And the drinks...we had the bottomless Sunday drinks! The Breakroom has every flavor mimosa, with the favorites being passion fruit, mango and raspberry. My oldest uncle from Sarasota, who is 91, wasn't interested in the bottomless options. He wanted Johnny Walker. The Breakroom had a lot of scotch but not Johnny. But that didn't stop Angie for making sure he was happy. She ran out special to buy a bottle. I stumbled upon the break room bar & grill by accident honestly. I woke up that day wanting to have a drink by water with a small crowd and I found just that. This place is super lowkey with a limited menu, but I like it. I wasn't in the mood for an actual meal so I just ordered a crab cake and it was tasty. The sauce it came with was slightly spicy and complimented it so well. After just a plain mimosa I told my server to have the bartender mix me something sweet with tequila and she did a phenomenal job. My sister-in-law recently hosted a birthday party for my brother at The Breakroom Bar & Grill, and it was fabulous! We had a party of about 25 for Sunday Brunch ($20 bottomless Bloody Mary's and mimosas??! Yes, please!) and they accommodated us perfectly! Yelp never disappoints, especially when you're in the mood for takeout and for something new. Discovered this hidden gem from doing a quick search on Yelp and I'm glad I did. I placed an order for the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Tacos, as well as the Mahi Cobb Salad. It was about a 10-min drive to pick up the order. Easy to find, right off of Ulmerton Rd. Parking was, 'eh so-so.. Not a lot of spots, and it would've been nice to have a to-go parking area like so many other restaurants have, but it was ok. I walked inside and made my way to the bar to let them know I was here to pick up an order. The bartender was pleasant and went right to the kitchen to check on my order. Seconds later, the cook came out with my order, and off I went. The food was really great! The tacos w/ the pineapple mango salsa, and queso fresco were a perfect blend and accompaniment to the jerk chicken. I would absolutely order these again, and again, and again. The Mahi salad was also really really good. That jalapeno ranch dressing was kind of a surprise to me. Never really tried something like it before and I wasn't sure that I'd like it, but I certainly did. I would also order this again. They are tucked off into a little corner of the Icot center but have a wonderful patio of the pond that neighbors the location. The food has been excellent since the first day I've come. I've tried practically the entire menu and was very sad when they got rid of the Philly cheesesteak. The food is fresh and has incredible flavor in every bite. The vegetables are seasoned and tasty. The bread is fresh and they are doing absolutely everything right in the kitchen. The menu is perfect for the location size with a great variety and they are willing to accommodate eating requirements. Well it's Build Your Own Burger Nite on Wednesday here just as at our other local favorite watering hole, Pub 1933. I'm already well aware of how good THAT is, as are all those who've read my past reviews of said establishment. Here of course is $2 domestic bottles so it kinda offsets the fact that they charge .25c for lettuce tomato onion and pickle. Frankly speaking, I find that somewhat off-putting. We began with those same zucchini fries we tried last go round. Still awesome and this time we didn't burn ourselves either. They were sufficiently hot, BTW. They come sprinkled with Parmesan shavings, which DOES add a nice touch to these things, in addition to the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce. The small cup they provide is exactly that: too small. Well, on to the main attraction: burgers. They come paired with their so-called house-made chips. Or you can "up charge" to any side for a mere $1.99; don't ya just LOVE options??? I'm sure it'd be even more for garlic parm fries...hmmmm. My burger: cooked medium with lettuce tomato and provolone. Queen Bee is also medium with lettuce tomato and American. She's staying with the house-made chips. We both also added mayo and mustard, which are free (as is BBQ sauce). Oh, yes: I DID opt for the garlic parm fries. The good news: both burgers were done to a great medium. They were very juicy as well, more so than 1933's Fries were still awesome, and even those chips were tasty. I was expecting them to be warm, but they were room temperature. The bad news: the burgers didn't have much seasoning nor did they have a decent sear. Also, the buns weren't very good; in fact they sucked. They didn't hold up under the weight or juiciness and fell apart faster than the Detroit Lions offense on a third down. They weren't even toasted. I definitely think Pub 1933 wins THIS burger war, hands down! The coup de grace is the fact that Ms. Jennifer has the nerve to charge .25c for lettuce, tomato and onion. Finally, Lena was here this week behind the bar; she was absent last time, but Shahana came in at 4pm and took over our tab. That's fine by me, since Lena was somewhat of a nondescript personality and overall presence. Even Ms. Jennifer herself was here doing the busy owner thing. The place was less crowded and quieter than a couple of weeks ago. That is a nice change for us, at least, as we weren't in the mindset to socialize. read more

This place is great . We've been going since we still lived in the apartment complex a few blocks away over 6 years ago when it used to be a Greek restaurant. Their brunch is fantastic, but today I tried their lunch as I was in the neighborhood. I had a lovely Caesar Salad, and added Shrimp, with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was delicious! The waitress told me, "yes, it's cilantro" with a bit of attitude when I told her that we specifically talked about "no cilantro". She took the dish back to the kitchen and the chef brought them back saying there was no cilantro that the herbs I was seeing was parsley. So, I agreed to keep them and I honestly don't know if there was cilantro, or not. Overall, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Found this place here on Yelp because it was close to the hotel I was staying at while in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. I was with three other people and when we arrived I thought we were at the wrong place because the outside looks like an office building. Once inside, it's not the nicest looking place, not horrible just average. There is outside seating available with a cute little pond or maybe it's a lake surrounding the outside seating area. Our waitress immediately came to take our orders and was very nice and efficient. I ordered a Margarita and was pleased that it was that pre-made stuff. They have a nice menu with a good variety of choices basically bar food but everything we had was pretty good. There was also an area for private events. Our group ordered the following: pork dumplings for appetizer, southwest chicken salad, bacon cheeseburger, and the chicken avocado caprese salad. Everyone rated their food high with lots of flavor! The chicken avocado chicken caprese salad didn't have the most fresh tomatoes and it was then I learned tomatoes in FL aren't the same as tomatoes where I'm from, IL. This spot is a hidden gem. I wouldn't have ever known it was was back here tucked away amongst office complexes. They have a great menu, it was multiple dishes I wanted to try but I settled on the spicy seafood jambalaya. It was absolutely amazing. Traditional jambalaya topped with a Mahi filet. Had another great experience here when we went for brunch this past Saturday. Got a high top in the bar overlooking the pond with the ducklings swimming around. We opted for the bottomless mimosas that you can choose what kind of juice you get them with. They're definitely not stingy and the pours and the bartender kept them coming without having to be asked. The picture is of a ginger peach sangria that was absolutely delicious. I had my dog with me so had to find something that accommodated me and this place does allow you to bring your fur babies to the back eating area. I had the California wrap and it was refreshingly delicious, fresh avocado, fresh lettuce and crispy bacon with some amazing chicken. My partner had the break room special (biscuit and gravy) not a meal I usually get but had the opportunity to try it out and it was delicious. I don't know what the gravy had but kept me wanting more. They do have a Sunday brunch with $20 mimosa otherwise the Mimosas are $8 each.
