Stopped there after work and was able to grab a chicken finger basket before the fryer shutdown for the night. Pretty decent and would like to stop for lunch sometime. Service can be a little slow in the evening with all the kids but that's probably normal.

The only thing I can even say about the food is that I didn't try it -- and thank God for that,…read morebecause after what I went through, I wouldn't want to give them a single dime of business. Let me be absolutely clear: this place might as well hang a sign out front that says "Whites Only." The energy, the glares, the outright hostility -- all of it screams you're not welcome here. If you're Black, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. From the moment I walked in, every face turned toward me like I had just crashed their family reunion -- the Brady Bunch and their extended Confederate cousins all rolled into one. The tension in that room was suffocating. Then came the so-called bartender -- a bitter, worn-down, nasty woman with the personality of a cold ashtray. She went out of her way to make me feel invisible and unwanted, acting like my presence alone ruined her day. She didn't serve with attitude; she served disrespect. And just when I thought the encounter couldn't possibly get worse, this miserable, wrinkled clown had the audacity to bark "Don't come back!" as I was leaving. That's fine -- trust me, I WON'T. But they need to know this: word travels fast, and people deserve to know exactly what kind of hateful establishment this is. -A Black Guy

Stopped in here for lunch as the reviews for the chicken wings sounded really good. We walked into…read morethe dinning room and were greeted by a frazzled waitress who immediately let us know she was the only one on, staffing both the bar and dinning room areas. And, so it would take a long while to get service and food. We stayed anyway, we weren't in a hurry. I picked up menus and brought them to the table we sat at. In the time we looked at the entire menu and decided what we each were going to order, the waitress came back to take our order. We asked for three orders of chicken wings with celery and sauces, a blooming onion, fries, and a cheeseburger. When Nikki brought out the blooming onion and fries she apologized for the wait and bought over a pitcher of water since she knew she wouldn't be around to refill our glasses. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. As our food came out she asked if we needed anything else, we were good so she quickly went off to the bar area. My guest were content with the size, crispiness and flavor of the wings. My burger had American cheese, mayo, onions, pickles and lettuce and tomatoes. It came with a pickle and chips. I don't care for chips but there's no lesser version price wise without. The cheese on the burger tasted like cheddar not American and the patty was well cooked but not seasoned. The meat had that not so fresh meat taste and smell so I added a lot of salt and pepper. All the other ingredients were fresh. The blooming onion should've been cooked longer as the center of it still had raw batter and the onion wasn't fully cooked. We took it home to put into our air fyer. The fries weren't anything special as they were thin and not seasoned. The location was on the right side right after passing a one way under pass. It has a small parking lot. The entry has a left door for the tavern and the right door for the dinning room. At first we were going to sit at the tavern side but it was too hectic and loud. The dinning area was decorated with bright farm animal paintings. It was clean. Did not use the restroom.

The drinks were good and cheap, between the 2 of us we had around 8 drinks & the tab was $25 or $30. Which is relatively good for 2 people, in my opinion. They dont serve food which is a bummer, i also didnt play pool but alot of people were. It is a tight space, so it gets crowded and loud fairly quickly.

Was I seeing this place through my own beer goggles for the night. Let's just get into it. When we showed up in the area we had asked about what nightlife was like in the area. With it being in the middle of a cold streak we were told about several places in town that would fit the bill to have a night out. We made the rounds in town and then found ourselves here for the remainder of the night. I think what drew us here was that it looked like a dive from the outside and allowed smoking. There weren't many people in here for a majority of the night, so we kind of got to observe this place with the regulars in it. That really allows to see how the locals are in an area. It was interesting to say the least. Once the drinks started flowing we started to feel a little more comfortable in here. We started talking to the bartender to find out what was good to do besides the typical tourist stuff in the area. She was wonderful with suggestions, telling us about other watering holes in the vicinity and even beyond Gettysburg. We had inquired about LGBT friendly places within a short car ride and were basically told to go to Harrisburg or a small town in Maryland. At that point, that's when things started to get a little weird. After outing ourselves, things got a little uneasy for us. We ended up meeting the owner's grandson. He was great and seconded the suggestions the bartender made. But when he introduced us to the locals at the end of the bar, we kind of wanted to not say much. It actually made us feel unwelcomed after a bit of sitting near them. Kind of like all eyes were on us. After a few more minutes of that, we paid our bill and made it out the door. So the thing is that it's a great bar, if you're a local. Or maybe even if it's crowded, so there are other people to focus on. We liked everything, the freedom to smoke, the pricing, the bartender, but the atmosphere changed at some point and flipped the script. Would we go back? Maybe if it was nicer weather wise out, that would allow more people to be in here.

Very smooth and has a fruity finish (I may have drank 3 on this particular visit but uwill not confirm or deny). Good selection of German beers to choose from. The food selection is good, but they seemed to be out of several things on their menu including their staple wurst. Staff were friendly and assisted with recommendations on beer and food. Can't really say what the vibe is here cuz we ate at an odd hour and we were the only ones eating, but there were some people seated at the bar. I would come back for the beer.

But there's always something just a bit off on every visit. The servers aren't aware of specials advertised on social media. The food presentation is always slightly off. There have never been more than 3 beers on tap out of several they list. I would not recommend the lobster roll special - cold flavorless lobster bits sprinkled with celery spread over Texas toast bread which was soggy from the moisture. Had to eat with knife and fork. The German coleslaw was tasty and vinegary but served on a plate (not bowl) and juice was spreading to edge of plate and didn't look appetizing the way it was presented but it was very good. The boardwalk-style fries are delicious and they do have malt vinegar for them if you ask. Good beer though - the Pilsner is my favorite. They recently opened up some outdoor seating with picnic tables that face the parking lot.
