We took a cliff top hike along the beaches of Goleta on Wednesday, followed by lunch at this spot. Plenty of parking and indoor/outdoor seating. Friendly attentive staff. Upscale sports bar vibe with multiple TV screens but at least the volume was turned off. Music also audible but not overwhelming. Lots of natural lighting due to large windows. We ordered the chicken sandwich, poke bowl and Asian chicken salad, as well as truffle fries to share. Generous portions. Everything tasted fresh. Overall a satisfying meal! read more

I honestly hate posting negative reviews. But I was bummed. Disappointing visit. The grilled cheese was burned (not just "toasted"), and the ahi in the salad was chewy with tendons. I politely raised the issue, but the manager brushed it off. No one checked on us during the meal -- a simple fix that could've made a big difference. Had such a good time here today! My friend is moving out of town soon and we needed a good place to catch up. We stayed awhile when it wasn't busy (3pm Saturday) and didn't feel rushed! We had great service from a blonde young woman named Kira, and our hostess was also super nice. Seems like all of the employees here are always working hard to clear the tables for the next party! Also, they greet you as you walk in and say goodbye as you leave. I notice the employees give that great service to all customers that come in. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was to die for. Came here for a work group end of the year party. We had 7 people and our wait was about 15 minutes at 6pm on a rainy Thursday night. It's a great location in the shopping center and plenty of parking out front. The decor and ambiance is a nice open floor plan with that brewery touch. It was very clean and nice and warm inside on the cold fall night. We got the cheesesteak appetizer which was DELICIOUS and coconut shrimp. The group ordered tacos, wings and some different burgers. I got the Norwegian salmon sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. The salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious. I like the bread they use and the tomatoes have some tasty seasoning on them. There wasn't a lot of arugula but a perfect amount of sauce as to not overwhelm the salmon. It wasn't a super packed or fancy sandwich but very good. The sweet potato fries were on the thin side but good and a nice amount. The potato chips that come standard with the meal are DELICIOUS! We got some churros to go. They didn't seem very fresh, but good none the less, but probably not worth the order over the brownie Sunday which looked much better and fresh! Overall I really like this menu. [We usually don't do waiting for dining or drinks - feels kinda over the top :-b]. The place surely runs full-as in to the brim, with even the bar being over full. We got ourselves a tiny-mini table for two. Our server was really nice & attentive. The food and drinks were okay, maybe due to the rush. There are not too many vegetarian options, however, they have a huge selection of beverages. Can give the place a try the next time you are in Santa Barbara or in Goleta. read more

Goleta needed a Finney's! Such a great addition to the Camino Real Marketplace. We came before lunch and were seated immediately. I love Finney's because you can order a few apps, drinks, and just have a good time. Our server Nicole was so sweet and shared her recommendations with us. We spent our 4th of July weekend with another family in Goleta, which is where Santa Barbara hides all its big box stores and kid-friendly chain restaurants. We'd been to the Finney's Crafthouse in the Funk Zone before, and this one was recognizably related but felt very different. The Funk Zone location belonged in the Funk Zone, and the Goleta location belonged in Goleta. It was right at home in a giant suburban mall complex with a Chipotle, a Costco, and a CorePower Yoga. One of our friends said it looked like Porter Ranch, and not only did I know exactly which development she was talking about, I now see that it has its own Finney's. We put this Finney's to good use, walking in with a party of nine on a Friday, a Friday that happened to be the 4th of July. We showed up at 6:15 and got seated right away, at a deep booth that fit all four adults and five kids, with limited escape routes for the children. The place was huge, and there were lots of TVs going playing various sports. Service was friendly enough but not especially competent. Our server--who might have been a local teenager on summer break--was inattentive and made several errors. It wasn't a big deal, though, and we did enjoy a relaxing dinner. Finney's has both a robust draft beer list and a kid's menu, a nice combination for families on vacation. I drank a Fig Mountain Hoppy Poppy IPA while my boys drew with crayons and ate their crispy chicken bites and pasta. I got the A5 wagyu burger for my meal, and this was solid, a ribeye patty with pepper jack, bacon, crispy onions, steak sauce, and mustard aioli. I got it with a side of Caesar salad, which was pretty tasty. We were in and out in about an hour and a half. Everyone ate well and no one cried, at least as far as I remember. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this particular Finney's, but it's there for you if you need an easy place to eat. read more

We had the chicken sandwich, buffalo wings, pepperoni pizza and bacon cheeseburger, with the pizza and chicken sandwich being the standouts. Service was the only thing that fell a little short, waiting long stretches of time to order drinks and further the food. loved finney's in downtown santa barbara, so decided to come with friends to this new location. we ordered different things to try and loved the flavor of everything. the burger was juicy and the fries were crispy with just the right amount of truffle oil. the caesar salad lacked the creaminess to the dressing and the chicken was dry, but the chopped wedge salad was delicious with a variety of toppings. lobster rolls were standard, but the bread made it better. i would stick to the burgers and recommend all of their burgers, they're a tried and true :) service was exceptional and environment is nice per usual. excited to come back ordered: a5 wagyu burger with chopped wedge salad a5 wagyu burger with onion rings truffle fries mini lobster rolls caesar salad with chicken read more

Just came here for the first time, actually still in the restaurant. Haven't heard bad things so I assumed it'd be a decent place. 14 dollars for a burger the size of an In-N-Out cheeseburger. $9 FOR A SIDE! They don't tell you it costs extra for fries unless you ask. Everyone I am with is disappointed. The worst part of it all was going to the bathroom and seeing a WORKER come out of the STALL and walk right out WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS!!! That is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. My friends and I will NEVER be coming back to this place. 0/10 read more

The food is amazing here and mind you I didn't eat at the restaurant it was ordered to be delivered and it still arrived tasting amazing. I would live to eat here again to to see the ambiance but honestly the food was amazing. I had the pizza with hot honey pepperonis and oh my goodness it was amazing. My husband ordered the double smash burger and enjoyed it. He ordered with tater tots and we both ate from there. We received churros with dip, if it didn't arrive for free I would have never ordered them but oh my goodness they were amazing and still arrived warms and soft even eating them after eating our food. I will be coming back. My children loved their plates as well. Eldest had pasta and ate it with a salad and my toddler had the sliders and ate them with berries. So we all ordered different things and everyone enjoyed it. Would recommend! read more

By far the best Finneys location I've had the pleasure to attend. Literally the best service and quality dishes every time I've frequented lately. It truly shows as there is always a waitlist which is a great problem to have. I usually end up sitting at the bar so I have no qualms with the wait but I would recommend adding yourself to waitlist and going for a quick walk while you wait for the notification to come in for larger groups. read more

Goleta finally has a legit happy hour spot, and Finney's HH totally hits the mark. Good drinks, solid food specials, and the vibe is just right for winding down after a long day. I've only been here for happy hour, but it's been great every time. I've tried almost all the HH food, and it's exactly what you'd want from bar food - flavorful, hearty, and perfect with their wide beer selection. The menu doesn't miss, and the prices make it even better. Service is good too. The staff stays busy but are always attentive and make sure you're taken care of, even when it's packed. Seating is spacious, but it does tend to fill up fast. Just shows how much Goleta needed a place like this. Honestly, it's way better than what was here before. If you're looking for a spot to kick back with friends, enjoy good eats, and sample a great beer lineup, this is it. read more

Bottom Line: very good The opening of this place was very highly anticipated, so there would be some long waits to get in after it opened. We have been twice now since it's opened, and I have to say both of our experiences were very good. The service has been very good, the food has been very good, and everybody seems to be having a good time a couple of times that we've been. I had the Ahi sandwich and the Reuben sandwich and I have to say they were both delicious . Everybody else at our table liked their food, and the beer selection is great... From the moment we sat down, he had the most welcoming energy, was insanely attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Tavon knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and checked in at all the right times. Our drinks never ran empty, our food came out perfect, and he somehow managed to make the whole vibe feel fun, relaxed, and effortless. It's rare for a restaurant with friendly staff, good service, and decent ambiance to actually make me angry--congratulations, Finney's, you've managed to do just that. What ruined this place for me is its approach to food. The portions are shockingly small--which would be fine for a French bistro, but not for a gastropub. Worse, many items are presented as unique culinary experiences but are, likely, frozen food. Fried pickles straight from a freezer bag? Avocado egg rolls pre-rolled in a factory months ago? That's not what I expect at these prices. Some menu items are downright misleading. Take the Prosciutto and Arugula "Pizza," for example. The menu clearly lists garlic as a topping, but what arrived was a flatbread--a light meal for one, not a hearty pizza. My guess, It was pre-made offsite, frozen, and finished with toppings at the last minute. When we asked for extra garlic, the kitchen drowned it in garlic oil--because, as our server explained, they don't actually have garlic in the kitchen. Garlic oil is not the same as garlic. This could all be forgiven if Finney's positioned itself as a beer and wine bar with casual snacks. No one expects perfection if the portions and pricing match the dining experience. But Finney's charges high-end prices for low-end food. No one should be paying $18 for a 1/4 lb burger. I gave this place three chances, each time spending around $40 per person (with tax and tip), and each time leaving unsatisfied and needing a snack at home. And now, a message to anyone in Finney's corporate office: stop charging parents $3 for their kids to play on your ridiculous tablet. It wasn't until our third visit that I noticed this sneaky fee on the bill. Apparently, because my three-year-old tapped a few buttons on the screen, we were automatically charged. No terms, no CC confirmation--just an auto-charge designed to squeeze extra dollars from unsuspecting families. Yes, our server offered to remove it when we pointed it out, but we paid it anyway. Because it's not about the $3--it's about the shady practice of nickel-and-diming customers. Shame on you. Finney's is a missed opportunity. It has the atmosphere of a great gastropub, but the food, pricing, and business practices make it a place I simply can't recommend. read more

I've been to Finney's Goleta a few times now before writing this review, and I have to say, the food has been consistently great. What really stands out, though, is the service--it's definitely a step up from the Santa Barbara location. Today, I felt compelled to finally write this because the staff went above and beyond. Blake was on point the entire time, making sure everything was perfect. And Angie has checked in on us every visit, which really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Good ol' Finney's! Go to the downtown location a lot and this one is substantially closer to my house so I was excited to see if it's the same quality. Deviled eggs were delicious as ever my only complaint is that it's weirdly 5 halves or 2.5 eggs (just give us the full 3 for the price!). Hubby had the chicken and waffle bites which he will order with sauce on the side next time because they got soggy FAST. Still yummy but would be even better if everything wasn't drowning in the sriracha maple. I had the mini finney burgers, classic sliders and decent portion. We shared the sweet potato fries which came with some type of horseradish aioli that was amazing. Super packed on a Friday night for various football games and they have a wide selection of cocktails and beers for a watch party. My main note would be their smaller 2-top style tables are pretty scarce, so larger parties get seated a bit quicker and you can expect a wait if you are only 2-3 people during busy hours. read more
