I got the pulled pork sandwich (large and delicious) with fries (turns out I actually liked the regular fries best but they have a rosemary Parmesan option too!) Three of my friends got the $14 steak tacos and were super satisfied by them. Service was good and quick as well. They have a parking lot directly across from the restaurant btw! I was looking forward to finally checking out Finn's! We went for an early weeknight dinner and was able to grab a seat on the side deck. Service was friendly! Food was a bit slow to come out, but it was understandable since around six tables were sat all within the same ten minutes. The winners for me were the red chowder and the steamed little necks. I try out the red chowder at most spots and I really thought Finn's chowder was delicious, I would definitely get it again. My son loves little necks and enjoyed the dish. The truffle fries were also quite tasty. I'd probably skip the wings and tacos next time. Appreciate that they have a happy hour food menu for early dinners on weeknights! Always nice to sit by the water while you are grabbing dinner. We will be back! read more

Went there on a rainy night with family for a birthday get together. Very slow night for staff, despite that the service was terrible. Food was mediocre at best fish and chips with one small piece of fish and "home cut french fries" which were cold and "stringy". The food did not come out all together and there was about a 5 minute gap in service. When checking out had to find our waiter. We got our check they overcharged for happy hour appetizers. Asked him to correct it and despite assurances, they billed the larger amount on our credit card. Was not a very good experience. Will not be back. read more

Finally when we went to the hostess stand the young lady who was very nice stated she would need to wait because it was her first night. The only thing is we have a band coming in at 6 and all the tables are reserved do you think you'll be able to eat in that time"? I feel as if this should have been communicated prior to us being seated. My friends and I haven't seen each other in quite some time and I myself fought 45 minutes of traffic to get there. Stopped in and was reminded why I enjoy this establishment. First off being located on the water is a plus. We were greeted at the bar with smiles from the bar staff. Our drink order was prepared and was delicious. Menus were given to us as were seated but there was no pressure to order. We were given time to relax and not be rushed. Just returned from a lunch date. Place looks good after the fire renovation. Food was so-so. Had fish tacos, just okay. Ordered chicken wings for takeout. Got them home. There were a couple of tips in the box, you know the pieces you use to make soup. Barely a tablespoon of teryaki sauce for the number of wings. Hmmm! Been going here for decades. Was never exceptional but always a pretty reliable, decent meal. Was excited it reopened inside space after the fire but the food is a very significant and disappointing downgrade. Much smaller menu and our food was borderline inedible. My husband had fish & chips that he said they were worst he's ever had, fries were soggy and he picked out a few bites of the fish minus batter (he's not picky). I had RI chowder that was greenish with weird, terrible tasting broth with very little clams or anything else. It's not hard in RI to make a tasty chowder. I'd be happy with just a decent broth. People next to us sent their meal back and said they were given the same bad meal again. In RI there's so many choices, I can't see how anyone will go back for the food. The staff were very nice. I really hope they revamp and return to pre-fire days because it's a great spot with great staff and locals. read more

As locals, we're so glad to see Finn's has finally re-opened and has a new menu with lots of new options (including a special drink list with funny names acknowledging the fire and subsequent challenges the restaurant faced). The place was very busy when we arrived, and currently seems to have fewer than 20 tables but still a large bar area. It took a long time for our drink order to be taken and forever for the drinks to arrive and the server to take our order. Luckily, we ordered an appetizer (stuffies), which were very good. Then, we waited and waited, while others around us were served their dinners. Finally, after speaking with the hostess and waitress, the waitress confessed that she had added our order to the system but had not hit "enter" and had only just realized. She was very apologetic and said she was working on getting us our food asap. The food finally arrived (at least an hour after we had arrived) and was very good. Accidents happen, but given that we were clearly there for my son's birthday (noted on our reservation and birthday gifts in hand), and given the mistake, it sure would have been nice had management at the very least comp'd us a dessert for the birthday kid. I didn't see anyone around who looked like management (the hostess was a young teenager), so maybe that was the problem. read more

Met up with friends here and sat "outside" on the deck area. A little too chilly to open the windows, they had the heaters going and it was comfortable. In late May (yeah, I'm about three weeks behind), they're still doing COVID with separated tables and masks required. Great service from our waitress who kept beers coming and cleared empties as needed. I got the seafood boil and it was okay. Nearly all potatoes and not much seafood. As well, it was a bit flavorless. The potatoes were nice and soft. The corn was still firm and tasted good. But for $18, maybe this is priced right for what it is. Our waitress was new (her first day on the job), and she did just right, bravo to her! We shared stuffed mushrooms ($12) and calamari (believe they were $11?). When my SIL is here she knows she has to eat all the seafood she can get because Texas just doesn't have it in that area. We went to a well known place down in Gansett and it was good. My husband and I had a dinner event for close friends and family, to celebrate our new marriage. It was the first place we looked at, and after meeting with the owner Carole - who was thorough, organised, answered all our questions, as well as guided us on things we didn't know to ask - it was the only place we looked at. We knew immediately that we were in good expert hands. We made the down payment the next day and everything after was finalised with one phone call and an email. The day itself, we got there a tad early as requested, and found that Kim was there to take care of us. Not only was everything arranged as requested, but she was so very helpful, super friendly and accommodating. Kim is the absolute best. In addition to being our event coordinator, she tended the bar (as someone called in sick), she attended to the food and ensured all our guests (in addition to ourselves) were always taken care of. I truly don't have enough words to say how amazing and awesome we thought Kim was. The event space was very lovely overlooking the harbor and all the tables were set up with the view in mind. The harbor is also nicely lit at night. The food was delicious and I am so glad we chose buffet, so our guests could go back. The desserts were decadent and we got rave reviews from our guests on the choices we made. Also worth mentioning and a great nice-to-have was the event space had its own self-contained bar and bathroom area. A definite plus!
