To start, the restaurant is beautiful. Stepping in gives an impressive sense of elegance. And the service was excellent as well. Overall, the food was presented nicely. But maybe we should have been tipped off by the emptiness of the restaurant compared to every other on a weekend (got last minute reservations). We started with the lobster acting like escargot and the organic chicken nuggets and caviar. The lobster was tasty but those tiny morsels basically amounted to $5 per grape-sized bite (at $30 for the dish). The included biscuits were dry and unappetizing. Take two. Nuggets and caviar. Rare to have caviar on a menu so we decided to try it. We figured the "chicken nuggets" might be euphemistic for something more extravagant. Hmm. Not so much. Literally chicken nuggets reminiscent of Raising Cane's with a dollop of crème fraiche and a tiny teaspoon of caviar (for $40). Did I mention tiny? To the point of barely tasting anything. The food wasn't bad - just ridiculously overpriced for the little you got. Not recommended. Following a little bit of a disappointing app service, we moved on the entrees. We hoped for a turnaround. We had ordered the scallops, tuna, sole and lobster mac and cheese for 4 of us. The sole was nicely fried on a bed of succotash. (Though it wasn't clear to me I was getting a dish that looked like fried catfish). The plate was huge and overall very good. On the flip side, the tuna was tiny and my son was still hungry afterward. Portions seemed rather disproportionate with each dish. My wife complained the scallops were smaller than expected - especially at this price point. And lastly the lobster mac was beautifully presented in a lobster shell but flavor-wise was nothing to write home about. We don't take any left over home. We skipped dessert after the mediocre showing (and paying the fat bill). I had mixed feelings about writing this review. All the food was decent, but IMHO ridiculously overpriced. Indeed, at half the price, I would have been reasonably satisfied. I realize people need to make a living, but I can only say that I left disappointed. We won't be back. Honestly, I wasn't gonna write this review. No one likes having negative feedback. I don't really enjoy giving it and writing all this is work. However, we're currently out of town and had two amazing meals thus far. And the family couldn't help commenting that both meals were together were cheaper than the disappointment at TP Seafood. Even the RI Monthly review seemed to comment on the same. Next time, we will walk right by and head to dinner at Gracie's instead (on the same block). Maybe the location is jinxed? This was our first time at this restaurant based on a review by the Providence Journal's food critic. We had booked a table for two. The place was pretty full of dinners many of which were going to go some show in one of nearby theaters. The dining area divided into tables and the bar area is very well designed in a modernist vein. The formally dressed waiters reminded me of Paris restaurants. The one drawback for me was the noise which made me knock a star off the score. To have to shout at your dining companion is a downer. We went on to order the food. We started by ordering six excellent oysters to share. Then onto the main dishes. My wife had the crispy fish tacos where the fish was crispy and the tacos were not. The fish was delicious. I stuck with an appetizer: sesame tuna. It was served on a unique platter which had a burning hot metal plate on which to cook the tuna to taste. I enjoyed the presentation and the taste. I also asked for crispy fries which were done right (which most restaurants don't achieve) and were hot and delicious. This was accompanied by glasses of a white wine - Aragosta Vermentino - and a Laetitia Pinot. Although satiated we could not resist ordering a crème brûlée dessert (highly recommended by people at the next table) which was excellent.. We would recommend this place highly even though it is quite expensive - around $60-90 per head. Our server, John B, was the consummate professional who was attentive and knowledgeable. He is to be commended. A fine dining experience (except for the aforementioned noise factor) worth a visit. read more

We checked out Ten Prime Seafood, the sister restaurant to Ten Prime Steak & Sushi, and had a great time before seeing a show at PPAC. It's located where RES used to be. Layout feels familiar but with updated decor and new furniture. We went for Appy Hour and sat at the bar. Their martinis are spirit‑forward; we ordered dirty martinis and they were excellent and... cost effective! We ended up trying everything on the Appy Hour menu and were really happy with all of it. Now we're excited to come back and try their full entrée options. The staff was super friendly, which always makes the experience good. Overall, it is a fun spot with good drinks, tasty food, and a nice atmosphere. read more

The food was delicious. The space was very open and nice. Service was pretty fast, but they charged an extra $60 worth of food and drinks that was not ours. Luckily, we checked the tab and they reversed the charges. Would recommend the lobster corn chowder, the tempura broccoli and crispy rice yellowfin tuna. Firstly, Sam and James get 5 stars! I stopped by on a Saturday night and they were a great team with welcoming, upbeat, and friendly energy. The lady working the host stand was also welcoming and helpful. The decor is elegant, and I like the variety of the cocktail menu. It's a full menu with classics. Very well rounded. We tried a couple drinks, apps, and dessert and enjoyed it all. The margarita could have been more full-it was more ice than drink. I don't think they already have it, but valet would be nice. We had the best food and service here! Love love love the decor and the big windows. We had the caviar and seafood tower. The seafood was soo fresh. Some of the best shrimp we've had in awhile. We also shared the lobster lo mein. The lobster was fried which honestly I would've liked it better not being fried but the dish was delicious and jam packed full of veggies. Fun atmosphere. Sat at the bar with a few girlfriends and explored the drink and food menu. Can't say the drinks knocked my socks off but they were ok. Same as the food. Tasty but the portions were skimpy, especially the chicken nuggets and caviar. It was the equivalent of one nugget cut up with enough caviar for 1/4 nugget for $45. IMO, the drinks were overpriced and over-iced and could've used more garnish, but tasty. Best dishes we had were the salmon and crispy rice and the steak frites. read more

Come for poppy hour and indulge in champagne and popcorn sprinkled with the magic of aminos and nutritional yeast - it's addicting. So many great items in the menu who knows where to start and what to have.. oysters were so fresh and tasty. Shocked perfectly with a bit of the minuet sauce on top. As a couple out of towners we were looking for seafood, cocktails and a cozy place for 2. We had them all last night. The scallops were almost perfect but it was the swordfish and sesame tuna warm bites that were the standouts for us. I had a refreshing Mai Tai and my husband had a Sonoma cab (x3) that were both refreshing. Lastly we split the apple pie with ice cream. We ventured into Providence to Providence for a quiet dinner on a Sunday evening. I'm so glad we chose Ten Prime Seafood. The hostess was charming, the waitstaff was professional, and the food was delicious. We started with the Chicken Nuggets & Caviar, crispy and delicious. The Lobster Tortelloni in pink vodka sauce deserves its own fan club. The sauce is rich without being heavy--creamy, bright, and so flavorful! The swordfish entrée was just as impressive. It was beautifully seasoned and grilled to that ideal point where it's still juicy and tender. We finished off the evening with perfect pairing of Creme Brulé and an Affogato. Ten Prime Seafood is a wonderful addition to the Providence restaurant scene! read more

The restaurant is beautiful as you would expect it to be. We sat at the bar, which was lively. There were multiple bartenders and we were presented menus and water choices immediately. They also shared a savory popcorn which was nice to pick at while surfing the beverage menu, which is enormous. I had an Aperol spritz and my cousin had a mule. The mule came out in a copper owl shaped mug and it was opulent. The aperol spritz was the size of a swimming pool; thank you! The menu was easy to follow and had a variety of choices. We chose the sliders which were excellent. The properly cooked meat was buttery and flavorful, the onions were sautéed to near perfection and it reminded me of a mushroom bruschetta. I admit I didn't love the roll chosen for the slider but, I understood why when I bit into it, you need it for the juicy steak and sauce that needs a place to go when you bite. Smart! Sticking with the handhelds we also had the fish tacos, which were the star of the show for me. The fish was so fresh it reminded me of summertime, with the greens and the radish it added a bite to counter the drizzled sauce and somehow the fish never lost its crisp throughout the mission. By the time all of our food was consumed we hit a food wall. Be warned, the food portions are generous. I regret not pacing myself but the chef is to blame because we just kept eating. Five stars on the food alone, would come here again. As for the interior; the design of the interior is very similar to its restaurant ancestors, but we love that. The bar is very updated and is reminiscent of a lively bistro, by the time we paid the bill at ~10, the bar was completely full of patrons as the tables around the bar were all occupied. The dining room is very fresh, clean and intimate but still lively and flows well into the bar so there aren't two separate vibes giving it the big room energy. It's likely this place will be busy for a long time to come if they keep this up. I absolutely loved my experience here, the staff was lovely and warm and welcoming and certainly retaining that hospitality you expect at a Ten restaurant. I heard about the restaurant being open and I drove almost two hours to try it because I knew it would be good. I was right. read more

Such a beautiful restaurant and amazing food. My boyfriend and I went to here for the first time on valentine's day and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were amazing. We had the smoke show, and it was just that, a show at the table. And the espresso martini was to die for. Our entrees did take a while to come out. We expected it to be busy for valentines day, but the manager Joe came by to the table and apologized for the wait and even brought us champaign while he check on on our steaks. This restaurant was amazing. First of all, the hostess that greeted us was so friendly and welcoming; she created an off-the-beat positive environment. Additionally, the service was excellent. Not only did the hostess check on us multiple times but our waitress informative and efficient. The appetizers were all spectacular. My family particularly relished the tuna bluefin crispy rice. The crunch perfectly accompanied the texture of the tuna, and the siracha added a spicy kick. Very well done and I would highly recommend ordering those. The tartare was excellent as was the carpaccio. For entrees, both the lobster lomein and crab fried rice were very tasty in their own way. The dessert was also fabulous. While a little skeptical when ordering apple pie as I had just had seafood, it cleansed my palate and was made very well. Also, the atmosphere is very cool, especially seeing Trinity lit up at night. During the day, most if not all tables feel the natural light through the window. Lastly, all seafood was incredibly fresh, and despite eating a lot, all of the food felt healthy and we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Would definitely return. read more

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately the only positive was the hostess. She was very personable. The waiter and staff were busy with a two top near us that they clearly knew. As a result we were ignored. The other tables near us were also ignored. It took a long time to place an order. We tried the raw bar. The clams were OK but did not taste fresh. The shrimp tasted like it was stored in plastic. For dinner the steak was good. However, the scallops were old. The scallops and vegetables were room temperature. My guess is that they were at the pass for a while. This restaurant bills itself as a seafood restaurant so I would expect the seafood to be fresh from the boat. Even a couple of days old is not acceptable. The waiter never checked back. I would have liked to order another beverage. When it was time for dessert he passed by with a board over my dining partners head. The tables are so cramped that I could not see what was on it. I planned to order coffee but we were not given a chance as we were handed the check before we could order. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are far better restaurants in the area. To call itself a seafood restaurant is a travesty. read more

This is the third incarnation of a restaurant at this location since at least 2016. Bravo Bistro was there and was amazing. Then it was sold and "Res" ristorante was there and lasted about 1-2 years. Ten Prime Seafood is ANYTHING BUT PRIME! Shrimp were a bit slimy and tasted like plastic! Obviously a few days old and stored in plastic. The scallops(just grilled) were grayish and NOT AT ALL FRESH TASTING! This explains why they try to camouflage their seafood with a variety of sauces. Go 20 minutes east to New Bedford and you will get much fresher seafood at better prices. The steak frites were good (for $54-they should be). Overall, ambience and decor is light and fresh, yet service was meh. No dessert menu, just our waiter schleping over a huge tray with an assortment of 5-6 desserts. My wife didn't even get a glimpse. No coffee or liquors offered! Priced like NYC but nowhere close to the quality. $200 for a mediocre dinner for 2 is not worth it (btw only had a lemonade and 2 n/a beers to drink). Nice try, but I foresee another owner and restaurant at this location very soon! read more

The ambience on the restaurant is very beautiful. It's a very nice scene to take pictures for Instagram, but not designed to leave with a full stomach. If you come hungry, you'll leave hungry. The portion size is very underwhelming and not very like 10 prime steak and sushi on Pine Street would like to see bigger portions for the price of the food that you get. 10 Prime Seafood is a welcome new addition to the Trinity Theater neighborhood of downtown. The renovation is clean, warm and beautiful, featuring gigantic windows looking out on the fabulous (and fabulously lit) building housing the theater. Even the chandeliers (which look like a flock of oysters) and other ceiling lights fashioned like sharks (I think) are a wonder. Drinks are surprisingly reasonable, and include a selection of interesting nonalcoholic ones (I had a great prickly pear margarita, which is advertised as nonalcoholic but they added some alcohol when I asked). The menu has intriguing seafood entrees (as well as many starters), including the option to have some as simply prepared as possible. Four of us shared two tasty wedge salads. Two of us raved about their Faroe Island salmon entrees, while my husband enjoyed his (smallish) swordfish but wondered where any artichokes were as mentioned on the menu. My sesame-crusted tuna was seared perfectly rare, tho I missed the kick of wasabi described on the menu. We all shared two delicious desserts, the raspberry lemon and the chocolate sea salt caramel.
