My ahi tuna was perfectly cooked and artfully presented on couscous with kale. My wife had the sablefish and the flavor was rich and delicious. The fish was firm and flaky. We split a flourless chocolate greenish. Pay parking was C$6 for 2 hours in a lot next to the building but up 40 steps to the restaurant. ,. Service was excellent. Visited Finn's several years ago so decided to stop in again while shopping in Victoria. We were seated on the outside deck and had a great view of the water. The menu had several choices of a wide range of food. Fish and chips, steak, oysters. They do have some vegetarian and gluten free options as well. They offer a wide selection of wine and have delicious cocktails. It's nice , comfortable atmosphere. The bar is also very nice. Lots of room with plenty of tables. I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first -- it's right on the harbor and surrounded by tourist attractions, which usually screams "tourist trap." It was a warm day, so we chose a table with an umbrella; there were plenty to go around. Service was good, but the food truly stood out. The beef and pork meatballs were delicious, though we wished there had been more than two for our group of four. The Parmesan fries with truffle aioli disappeared quickly, and the oysters were very fresh. I loved my seafood linguini, and my husband couldn't stop raving about his double thick pork chop. Great service, the location is prime: overlooking the water. The cool, not standard music presented a nice ambiance. Now, the food. I went for the basic fish and chips and was not disappointed. Canadians on the shore know how to prepare fish. My fillet was a large piece that covered most of the plate. We made a reservation for our engagement that happened hours before the dinner and it was quite perfect. We started off with two traditional margaritas with bread and butter. Both were delicious but let me tell you about the star of the evening. The mushroom risotto was EVERYTHING. I added prawns on the side for some protein and extra filling and it was absolutely the right move. The risotto was rich, creamy, decadent and the perfect portion with the prawns on the side. I am salivating as I write this review, it was that amazing. My fiancé had the lobster fettuccine which was not our favorite but it was made up with the coconut crème brûlée. The manager was exceptionally attentive, taking her allergy list to the kitchen to ensure safe and suitable recommendations. We ordered several dishes, and my favorites were the octopus, the trout spread, and the sablefish. However, the Fish and Chips was my least favorite--it felt overpriced for just one piece of fish, and I thought it could have been cooked better. Big issues! Reservation was good. Greeted us quickly and then...guided us up a steep flight of stairs (four 80 year olds- no elevator) after passing many great indoor and outdoor tables! Then we were led to a dark upstairs corner with no windows anywhere near! Then we ordered. Then we waited over 95 minutes for cold fish and chips. Cold Thai chicken curry. Two cold shrimp tacos (each had two shrimp). And 20 minutes later a poke bowl with a small pile of ahi tuna on top of a whole head of lettuce. We did order one beer and a one ounce whiskey and 7up! Footnote on drinks in Canada: drinks are sold per one ounce! Remember a normal "jigger" in every mixed drink in the world is one and one half ounces! So after you order a "one ounce" drink, you will be asked if you want a "double." This is a trick. The one ounce is the wrong formula for most drinks: martini, manhattan, and old fashioned to name a few. And if you go double: wrong again and tastes too strong because they use the "single" recipe. Back to the food. The cold two hour dinner in the dark upstairs corner was $200. The manager did acknowledge the horror of the evening and gave us two small desserts for four adults. We will not return to this dark corner of Victoria! read more

Large pieces of fish on a bed of fries covering large piece of paper with a very good tasting side serving of coleslaw. The chips were fresh cut from real potatoes and cooked perfectly. The large cut of fish was excellent. The restaurant decor goes perfectly with a water front location without the usual gaudy dock marine knickknacks. The last port of call on our cruise was in Victoria BC, and our shuttle bus attendant referred us to Finn's. After a stroll through the beautiful downtown area, we arrived to the restaurant, which boasts a magnificent harbor view. Front of house staff were exceedingly polite, and got us seated quickly with a water view table. Our server, Andrea, was also very polite, knowledgeable and attentive, in addition to looking like she'd just walked out of the pages of a fashion magazine:). We started off with a nice glass of reisling and a perfectly prepared Moscow Mule. For an app, we had the seafood chowder. Very delicious, with copious chunks of steelhead trout. My wife had the fish and chips, with perhaps the largest piece of fish I've seen for that dish. I had the Thai curry prawns. A generous portion of prawns, and the perfect blend of spices to go with the jasmine rice made for a very satisfying lunch. The tab with gratuity was $136 Canadian but showed up as $99USD on my credit card. In any event, Finn's food and service were a great value. read more

They have indoor and outdoor dining but we liked the upper floor small dining loft area which was quieter and overlooked everything.
