I've been coming here for years (over a decade), but things have changed. Since the remodel, they have become snooty. I walked in for a haircut yesterday and sat down and waited like normal. Sat for 15 minutes and no one even said hi to me. After reviewing the much higher prices (which is expected after a remodel), and not being greeted, not knowing how long I might have to wait, I decided to bring my business elsewhere. So frustrating how this business functions! Online says this barber is "open." The sign on the door reads open at 10am M-F. No other signs on the door. I show up at 1030 and the place is "closed" with no lights on. I watch two other people walk up to the door and pull on it. Locked! How does a business owner function like this? So my dad went in and loved the way Irma cuts his hair but the owner was very rude and hurtful told my dad to calm down because she was abusive to her employee and he stood up for her because she made a mistake with his transaction and the owner went on to scold Irma my dads hairstylist the owner proceeded to yell at him and told him to calm down and refunded him and told him to never come back I can't stand abusive people who talk to their employees disrespectfully and another time he was there for the first time the owner was yelling at a customer over the phone and hung up on the customer she's loud and obnoxious!!! Cheapest isn't always the best, if you don't mind finos constant answering his phone or talking on the phone while cutting your hair... There seems to be some attitude of if you don't like it go somewhere else if you're not satisfied, maybe it's better to pay a little more for professional and better service/experience. read more

I was heartbroken when my Aunt stopped doing hair after 60 years and passed because she was my stylist since I could remember n I had 1 bad experience with someone else. Fatima has COMPLETELY RESTORED my faith in stylists. Initially I told her how I wanted my hair styled n she was FABULOUS at it! A friend recommended this place, and when she said $13 for basic cuts, I could not believe the price so I was a bit hesitant. I'm Asian, and had been making the trip to San Gabriel Valley to my stylist as I think it's hard to find stylists who know how to handle thick heavy Asian hair. But it was getting harder to make those trips and I was letting way too much time go between cuts. Sylvia (not the owner, who I think is Fatima?) did listen specifically to what I asked and cut my hair evenly and it felt smooth and blended. I only asked for more basic trim, since this was my first time here and I was still little apprehensive. I was concerned if language communication might be an issue, but she understands English well enough and asked questions to confirm what I wanted. We did not chit chat but that's fine with me. I feel confident coming to Sylvia for maintenance. She was thorough and re-checked the layers to make sure it was well blended. If I was changing my hair with a new trendier style, I may try somewhere else, but for my needs, she's great. It's a very basic no-frills place but clean enough. I'm coming for the value of a good maintenance cut, not for a relaxing spa experience. It's walk-in only, so a tip: if you come on Sat/ Sun. come before lunch time (10-ish) to beat all the kids and families that will come making it very crowded. If you can come on a weekday, even better. Sylvia seems to open the place, and Fatima works later afternoons. There is also a gentleman barber who usually does all the male cuts. The price was great. $10 per hair cut. The ladies were both so sweet with my little boy's. The did overall a good job but cut there hair a little shorter then I would have liked. They did not take into consideration their calics. My one year olds hair sticks straight up in the back and my three yr olds hair in the front lays funny. I walk in at 7:20pm and they close at 8 and said they were closed because they had people ahead, I came back another day around the same hour and told me the same thing and came again for my third time and told me they were closed because the guy had to leave and I told her it's been 3 times she's told me their "closed" when their business hours say their open till 8 and business door was still open. read more

I really like Finos work but on Monday he had his headphones on when he cut my 2 year-old sons hair and he talked on the phone the whole time. I get that the customer service is not his "forte" but once I lift my son to put him in the carseat I noticed two scratches on his forehead. Multitasking was a big no no! read more

The waiting area is nicely kept, the tv isn't blasting anymore and the haircuts are very professional and very reasonable. The owner of this place brings her children in and while she is cutting hair she tries to tutor them too often raising their voice to them and rediculing them infront of others. When people dislike their hair cut she raises their voice at them talking back to them not good. This place was good for the price but the atmosphere is horrible. Be warned! This place actually deserves "nothing"!!!! If there is a zero star that is what this place deserves!!! Very RUDE salon owner/operator!!! We went there today to have a haircut for a family of 4. Unfortunately, we wasted our almost an hour waiting time because when it was our turn one of her staff decided to take care the customer who came in later than us. When I approached the lady owner she said that her staff was asking whose next but I did not answer and I told her that how would I know that is what he is asking he was speaking in Spanish!!! Then this rude owner carried on and on and on saying that no her staff said it in English and she's even trying to blame me that if my children are ready I should have them sat on the available salon/barber chair, what'!!! Did she just said that???? Is that how it should be? That is very much in contrary to what is the norm. Besides, I don't see any signage anywhere in her place that says "next customers can sit on to any vacant salon chair". The norm and courteous is- We customers should wait to be called and politely ask to sit on their salon chair until they are ready!!!! I think she needs to learn more about business ethics/manners here, not the way they do it wherever she adapted it from. What is so disappointing too on this is that being her as the owner she should practice respect and courtesy to her customers in front of her staff instead of talking to me in a high tone of voice and in a very rude manner!!! I asked her politely and what I got in response is a RUDE treatment in front of my children and trying to blame us after waiting for almost an hour???? I decided to pull out my children and so happy I did, before she started on my daughter because my daughter told me in the car that "she's happy we did not give them the business because, she greeted this lady owner and she was ignored, said nothing back as a courtesy greeting to an 11-year old, very RUDE indeed!!! Please do not waste your money on these kind of people and place. We deserve better than this and there are a lot of places here in Camarillo City where you can get your hair and nail service with pleasant owners and staff. Just because they charge $10 does not mean they should treat customers cheaply. **With the above review, the owner or some friends of hers or customers might repudiate on my reviews but it doesn't really matter because I am writing all these based on what me and my children had experienced and how we were RUDELY treated by the owner.
