Eight years of visiting Wine on High and it's officially time for an update and an extra star is indeed warranted. I really enjoy this place and I've been visiting more and more often these days. It's just such a chill wine bar. The vibes are always on point, the staff is lovely (shoutout Chelsea for always being awesome), their selection is great, and the prices are fair. If you ever want to enjoy some food while sipping a glass you can order it from Hubbard Grill next door and they'll bring it over to you. If you want some entertainment during your visit, they have a TV but the people watching on High St is prime time. They also have an upstairs which is perfect if you have a party. Give them a visit next time you're in need of a relaxing time and a glass of your favorite wine. read more

Super cute place! Very small though, so plan ahead if you have a larger group. Ordering was a little confusing because there weren't any signs explaining that you needed to go order at the bar. We waited at a table upstairs for awhile thinking we had a server. Once we realized we didn't, we went downstairs to order our drinks and food at the bar. I had the braised beef sliders with brussel sprouts and they were so good! The food is from Hubbard Grill so that's a fun addition. Great place for wine lovers! They have a large variety of all types of wine from different countries to choose from, ensuring there's a good option for anyone! Great place to go for happy hour or to grab a drink before dinner or going out. Only downfall is the inside is a bit small and there's not a lot of seating so be prepared to sit at the bar. It's also located on N High St. so parking is always tough. You will likely need to park in a nearby garage or on the street if you can find a spot. What a lovely spot! Have walked by this place dozens of times but didn't realize it was a full service bar that serves food from next door at Hubbard. Loved our stop in on a rainy Friday night. In addition to the retail shop, they have wine flights, full glass pours and cocktails. It is not the biggest selection of retail but they have some nice bottles that we've tried from the west coast. Really friendly service from the bartender who surprised me with her favorite dry red right now which was a cotes du rhone. It was so good that I had a couple more glasses and took a bottle home. It was a good value at $22 for the bottle. This was the stop before dinner so we didn't entrees but did get the olives and the fries... both were great choices and the perfect appetizer. The fries are so good... potato-ey yet crispy. I'll definitely be back. This is a great place to drink even in the day. The space is so open and airy and bright with the tall windows. They have a great happy hour (that we unfortunately missed by a few minutes) but on weekdays until 6 pm there are $6 house wine pours, $7 select cocktails, and $2 off food! Good deal! When I went there was also a local flower business set up right at the front door (Flower Day-ze). Hope she comes back... loved picking the flowers for her to arrange a bouquet while drinking wine. This wine location was alright. I am a monthly Cooper's Hawk wine member and you will get very different vibes between the two. I do not enjoy very much going to the Short North with all of the safety issues anymore, and as you know parking is never easy here as a young, single girl. It was very cute inside, although small and very loud. The wine event was fun, but probably will not be back much. I really enjoy a much more quieter environment. There was points throughout the night where customers were just absolutely screaming over each other and my throat hurt when I got home from yelling so much all night for my friends to hear me. read more

Our friends rented out the top of Wine on High for a small engagement party!! It was a really nice space and it fit ~18 people well. Our friends were able to order some food for the group which was all delicious! We had mac and cheese, crispy brussel sprouts, and some bread topping items. I loved all the food and I thought it was a good amount of food for all of us. They also were able to help serve a cake that was brought. The service was very good. We were able to choose from many types of wine in a bottle or a glass. There were also beers available. My friend and I split a bottle for $14 which I thought was very affordable! We got the Reckless Love which had a fun mustache on the cover and supposedly had a glow in the dark label but we couldn't get it to glow. I really enjoyed the red blend that we got. There was an uncorking fee of ~$10. Overall a very nice space that led to a great get together! I would come back some time! read more

I stopped into Wine in High and met the sweetest guy Conner. Immediately when I walked in he noticed me and welcomed me into the store. He followed with asking if I was looking for anything in particular which I said no because it was my first time in. I was stopping by while waiting my family to finish up dinner across the street. He gave me a warm welcome as we chatted about wine, my visiting Ohio and some great options as I began looking at the beautiful bottles. I then noticed a bottle that had a white glass rose on the top and pink bubbly inside. The bottle itself intrigued me because it looked like a bottle of perfume. I asked if it was a good flavor, as I'm more of a dry wine girl. He said it was not dry but certainly sweeter. I looked around more but of course my heart was set in the Rose bottle. So that's what I went with as my birthday gift to myself. The store was filled with a variety of wine and champagne and I love the champagne wall inside. On a Saturday afternoon, my girlfriend and I were hankering for some charcuterie, and Wine on High turned up after a quick search...so off to the Short North we went. When we first walked in, the place was empty. Literally. No one was behind the counter, no one was at any tables -- upstairs or down -- and I double-checked the hours on the door to make sure it was indeed supposed to be open. Fortunately, a minute or so later the server (or perhaps sommelier?) came out from the back and greeted us, and after we ordered a couple of glasses of wine (a riesling and a peach moscato), the charcuterie followed shortly thereafter. Needless to say, it hit the spot perfectly -- four varieties of meat, as well as olives with fennel, fig preserves, and crostini. The mortadella was especially excellent, and the board itself seemed reasonably priced at $17. Was it an amazing dining experience? No, but ultimately, Wine on High delivered on exactly what we were looking for: good wine, and good charcuterie. It's been so long since my first review of Wine on High and it's clearly time for an update! This has evolved into one of my favorite places in all of Columbus. I come here way too often. I hit up the 20 for 20 event every month that I can -- I honestly think this event is one of the best kept secrets in Columbus. $20 for 20 tastes of quality wine?! So awesome. Also, my parents gifted me a six month membership to the Monthly Wine Club which has been so much fun! Near the beginning of the month, wine club members get to go to a special tasting where you'll try four exclusive wines only available to members. You then get to take your favorite bottle home for free! I've really enjoyed the membership - these tasting events are a lot more personal and relaxed than the 20 for 20 evenings (although I'm a fan of both). Whenever I pop in just to buy a bottle, the employees are extremely helpful. I'm always impressed with how knowledgeable they are and how willing they are to share opinions and recommendations. I love Wine on High to grab post-work drinks with friends or to grab some pre-dinner drinks before a night out. They have an excellent assortment of wines and I've always been overly pleased with the selection and whatever I end up getting. I've been meaning to come in to grab a few bottles to stock up at home! The most recent time I was there, a friend recommended a Cab with a brand I had never heard of before. I am partial to California wines and LOVED this wine. I was super surprised to find out it was a wine from Washington state. Totally changed my view! I've heard awesome things about the 20 for $20 wine tastings here and need to make it a priority to get to one soon! This location is also premium for all Short North residents and visitors. It's on High Street right by Hubbard. There are a lot of great shops nearby (Columbus Running Company, Homage) so feel free to stop and shop afterwards! I only wish they had more food selections. I've been here on some nights before right after work and I prefer some type of meal with drinks. I know that's not the concept here so I appreciate the cheese trays. I think it would be great if they partnered with a local pizza joint (Fabian's, Donatos) to allow customers to order pizza and have it delivered to Wine on High. I might ask if that's a possibility next time I'm there; but if not, they should totally market that! read more

I booked the upstairs area at Wine on High for a small bridal shower and couldn't have made a better decision. The booking process was quick and easy and very reasonable compared with other options I researched. Once we arrived, the staff was very attentive to our needs. From meeting the bride with a glass of champagne as she entered to making sure our food came out before our tasting so we weren't drinking on an empty stomach - everything was thought of. We also really enjoyed all the wines that our host/server picked out for us and learned some fun facts about each one along the way. Our server was amazing and attentive and the space was beautiful already and easy to decorate. I would absolutely use this space for another event in the future!! This is an intimate shop with a cute upstairs dining area. I came here for a business meet and greet event. The staff was very nice. Not only does Vino 100 carry wine in perfect little personal serving size cans, but they come complete with a straw! No more excuses for not having wine at that picnic! No more complaining that some careless lush broke one of your glasses. Nope, with these, there is not a single excuse not to drink them. Including the price - $15 for 4 cans. =) But the rest of the place is great too! Lots of selection and some really unique wines. Wine on High may not have the largest selection of wine as compared to suburban superstores, but like most things in life, I prefer quality over quantity. It's almost as if Wine on High has already done the research for you. I trust that most of the wines on display are tasty. As long as you know what varietal you desire, Wine on High will have a good 4-5 options at various prices ranges with most bottles being less than $15. The store is small but well-organized. They have plenty of wine to choose from (and bottles to take home), as well as a full bar and a handful of beers on draft too for non-wineos. I joined the wine club for awhile so I came here monthly for it! It's a $20 subscription for a monthly wine tasting on the second Thursday of each month and you get to choose your favorite of the tasting to take home! The tastings were enjoyable - from the introductions and explanations of the wines in the tasting to getting to take a bottle home it's a great value!! They have some food available but I think it's mostly snacks. I hosted a birthday gathering at Wine on High this past weekend and it was phenomenal. From coordinating the event a few weeks ahead of time to making the final payment at the end of the evening, everything ran smoothly. Although I didn't get to indulge on the food at the event because I was talking to guests, they enjoyed the catered food and the staff was able to accommodate with drinks throughout the night. I appreciate the event coordinator Tina Stiver for staying in contact with me in a timely manner and the staff for their assistance, even down to playing a Pandora station of my choice. A winery for everyone! I feel like it's rare that a winery will have wine, beer and cocktails but Wine on High has it all! My husband got After Dinner Delight and if you love chocolate and coffee this is the drink for you! I got the Sweet Flight and it had a pink moscato, a sweet red and a chocolate flavored wine.
