I had a massage at the Bamford Wellness Spa on my recent trip to Kauai in July…read more I'll break down my rating of Bamford in more detail, separating the massage service itself from the spa amenities and experience with the rest of the staff. In terms of a massage, I'd rate it 3 stars based solely on the massage, not taking into account the price which is high due to the venue and amenities pre/post massage. I had a regular Swedish style massage which frankly felt like majority of the massages I get at higher end spas situated in luxury hotels when I travel, light to medium pressure (regardless of what I ask) that doesn't quite give the lasting relaxed feeling in my body that I get from my regular massage spot in the peninsula. The amenities and staff I'd rate a 4 out of 5 for the cozy relaxation area, cleanliness, modern and well kept locker room/shower area, and friendly service. The spa lacks a designated pool area that I tend to find in hotel spas overseas which is always a nice treat. Pros: Friendly staff, clean and modern amenities, situated in a gorgeous hotel. Cons: Nothing exceptional in terms of the massage itself, the premium paid is for the venue and amenities.

I was called 16 hours before the time of service and was told a technician was sick and they had no options at the same time for both guests. We ended up changing a service and time in order to make it work. I am definitely sympathetic to staff members being sick but thought it was interesting it was the same day as a Sephora brand trip when all influencers were posting about the spa. The spa amenities lack attention to detail. My friend was given two different sized shoes, as a non-resort guest, we could not use the pool or hot tub. There were no bags provided for wet swimwear or clothing. The showers are all rain showers which is nice but if you had a facial and are trying to avoid your face, it's very difficult. Customer service was not especially friendly or welcoming and I was disappointed with the experience for the price. Overall, I would not return or recommend.

As I entered her spa and met her I felt instantly more calm, seen and at ease. I have since done multiple acupuncture as well as chiropractic sessions in the Botanicalal Spa. I am so grateful to have met Wanda and Dr Kent and to have a holistic view of my injury rather than just giving me medicine as my PCP wanted to do. After months of pain I can honestly say I am finally starting to feel better in both my mind and spirit. The grounds are breathtaking including the pool & spa. We had a full kitchen & bought groceries for breakfast & lunch when we left the airport. We had a beautiful view from our condo! The resort is exceptionally quiet & peaceful even though there's a lot of people there. We loved it! Didn't have any problems! Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed here for a week trip in the summer. I'm not sure how they can categorize…read morethemselves as a resort as you do have to leave the property to get basic needs such as breakfast and lunch. The two restaurants on the property open at 3pm, and are actually closed two days of the week (Wednesday and Thursday were the closed days when we were there). We had to go to the 1 Hotel Resort for breakfast and lunch, which isn't far and can be accessed through the hotels golf cart transportation system, but defeats the purpose of the resort being the destination itself. And if you plan on going anywhere, you NEED a car, there are no Ubers or Lyfts around. We felt stranded when we arrived from our flight at lunch time, starving, and learned the restaurants are closed for another 3 hours, until 3pm. It does have a coffee shop that has drinks, cold and hot homemade sandwiches and snacks for on the go, but the hours it's open depends. The flyer they hand out says it's open from 7am-4pm but we just watched them close today at 1:30pm. There's a QR code that says to scan for live hours, which tells me it doesn't follow the 7am-4pm time frame at all. How would we then know when it's open to plan for it? Thankfully we got in before they closed for a lunch snack. That said, the operating times that can be inconvenient and if you want a proper sit down meal it's not the place. I found myself confused at times, wondering who this place was for because at times I needed food or simply a place to sit, everything seemed to be closed, all the way to the detail of seating areas on a busy dinner night. It's almost as if this isn't a resort meant to be open or helpful for guests living there. Most of the staff is welcoming, I saw one review mention some animosity towards tourists which I could definitely sense at the front desk with one of the ladies, but the rest of the ladies were nice, I think it was just her. 1 Hotel definitely has better service, where they actually critically think to go above and beyond on getting you what you need, though that's expected due to the price difference. The room was clean and had what we needed, full kitchen, master bed and a separate space with a pull out bed that was useful for our family who stayed with us to help with our baby. Overall, I'd rethink calling this location a resort, it's nice but a bit misleading.

The food carts are good and very convenient located on the property right outside of building 5. I would come back. Originally we were told AC is extra $30 per day, but somehow it was included when we checked in. Oddly they only allow 5 devices associated with your room, which is not really feasible in this modern age of tech/gadgets. The staff was able to add 5 more devices free. Our unit had a modern smart water heater, dryer, washer, dishwasher, all appliances were new. The chickens on the island when I had visited always went off around 5AM. At times going off at random times between 3 -5am. Not the resort's fault. But what I do fault them on is poor sound insulation. Example is every room has shuttered windows and a screen. NO Wall there. So its easy for sound to travel right through. I wore ear plugs all through the night and still got woken up by those chickens. Also, people above us on the 2nd floor, you could hear every step they made (not their fault). So. be warned, if you are a light sleeper - good luck. Pools were fine, not warm. The 2 Hot tubs on next to the main lobby were hot and nice. The other on the other pool area wasn't as hot. The grills there worked well. We tried them out for a meal or two. No house keeping, but you may request them to bring extra towels, pool towels, etc. through their text system. Convenient way to communicate with staff.
