I first interacted Sarah and Jessica at the office and they were wonderful. They helped me get an appointment ASAP which is never easy in the summer months, and scheduled us with Danny, our current and forever service technician. Danny is super knowledgeable and treated both my wife and I respectfully and honesty. Carrier itself had no idea how to fix it when he called them, so Danny dug his heels in, did some research and figured it out, talking us through each step of his diagnostic process and making his best recommendation on how to fix our air conditioner. Sarah and Jessica also stayed in touch with us every step of the way regarding scheduling. Mario is a nice, polite and well versed serviceman. During the inspection he mentioned the capacitor was "reading low" and he recommended I replace it. I looked it up on google and it suggested the price of the part was about $25. Now mind you, I had no trip cost, as he was already on premises for the annual service. He quoted $500 and change. I was shocked and he then went to to say that I really should install a "Turbo Capacitor" and "UPGRADE THE ELECTRONICS. for a total cost of $702. They confirmed that the price is fixed - I felt under the gun. He was already here, trip fare was paid so I figured to approve the install and challenge the number with the office. He then told me that the insulation was warn, so he needed to replace, not urgent, but needed. About 18" of foam insulation....price $209....FOR 18" of cheap, off the shelf insulation that probably costs under $1....and he was already at my place. After a lot of back and forth, he "threw in" the foam. I called the office and explained my shock at the price and was told they bill at $400/hr labor plus parts. Even with trhat exorbitant hourly rate, he hardly worked for 45 minutes to do all the work, so I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. Was told they work on fixed pricing with no breakdown. I have been a satisfied customer and find their technicians to be able and polite. On their website I gave them a 4 star review thing I would be able to put some of this story but there was no such opportunity. I hate feeling that every time something needs repair, you have to guard against being taken advantage of. I thought I had a trusting relationship with them, and am disappointed to find out that is not the case.

HEAT PUMP, FURNACE and MINI-SPLIT!…read more  We recently contracted with Tri Peaks Air to install a completely new a/c and heating system for our home in Niwot.  The existing system was installed in 1997, and the A/C finally gave up during the height of this summer's heat.   It was an old system and parts including the R22 refrigerant was not readily available or too expensive.   We decided to go with Tri Peaks Air and from the first encounter with their field estimator/project manager, Donovan, the whole process was seamless and very professional.  The time from quote to installation was a comfortable 3 weeks and all stayed on exactly on schedule as promised.     XCEL had already completed their site analysis, and they were likewise very pleased that Tri Peaks Air includes the appropriate and substantial XCEL rebates in their quote so there would be no surprises or price changes.   They even file the paperwork with XCEL so there is nothing for us at the homeowner to so to make sure all goes smoothly.   The field crew that installed the entire system, including a whole-house heat pump, a new natural gas fired furnace, a new mini-split for the sunroom, which we could never keep at a normal temperature, was all completed by a 7-man crew in ONE DAY.  Removal of the old system included!   Each person, the electrician, and the rest of the mechanical crew knew exactly what they were doing and did so with great coordination and expertise.     I offered them a return visit on the following Monday, but they insisted on completing the job in one day as promised, staying until 7:30 PM, until everything was operational, and the entire job cleaned up and removed all trash.   They stayed to train us on the operation which is very simple.   It's a great system and a great team from Tri Peaks Air.   My career has been involved in the construction trades at all levels, including very complex commercial and industrial projects.  The crew on the Tri Peaks Air team would have been highly respected and regarded in terms of their working knowledge and great teamwork/attitude towards the project and getting things done in the most efficient manner.  On top of everything else that they did so professionally, the communication with the main office included text messages telling us what team members would be arriving at our home, along with a brief biography of who they are and what experience they bring.  Communications about the exact schedule was likewise very much appreciated.  I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Tri Peaks Air for any HVAC project that you may have at hand.  They are in a nutshell, an excellent team from the word go.   Thanks to Tri Peaks Air for the work and timing...we are already enjoying our new A/C systems immensely and look forward to a cozy winter without worries about the furnace failing in mid-January!   Thanks,  Norm Klapper, Niwot, Colorado (303) 548-2416
